Tea tree oil is defined by international standard ISO 4730 (2004) (“Oil of Melaleuca, Terpinen-4-ol type”), which specifies levels of 15 components, which are needed to define the oil as “tea tree oil.”

Among over 98 compounds contained in the oil, terpinen-4-ol is responsible for most of the antimicrobial activity.

Pros:

Found my solution

Cons:

TTO is harmful to dogs! When i put on my face my dog smells the strong odor & it makes him sneeze...Keep away from dogs!

I also tried everything out there & nothing has worked. Im 29 yrs old, had terrible acne since 13, after reading remedies from this site, i went out and bought the entire TTO line. SPot treatments workign great. Scared to apply to entire face though... along with some vitamins...i will start drinking ACV again as well as i feel my acne is due to toxins in body from poor diet, to much ciggs & beer

Pros:

kills bacteria effectively, reduce some redness after just one application!

Cons:

the smell is just a bit offensive

got it from the Body Shop, 15% concentration, works awesome. I have dry/sensitive skin, but it's fine if moisturizer is applied around the problem area (not on top of TTO). I notice positive result (not very significant) after just one use. I'll keep posting...

Pros:

clears up pimples rather fast!

Cons:

strong smell, may burn eyes a little when used on face.

AMAZING PRODUCT i love it so so so much. I put it on and in about...5 days all my acne and pimples were cleared. It made my face less oily and shinny. It will completely dry out your skin, it did on my sister to. So just make sure you atleast keep some moisture to your face like cream or something

Pros:

It is Natural. Cheap, 10 mL bottle $10.00 and last a couple of months. easy to put on. smells GOOD, smells like its working. HINDERS NEW PIMPLES

Cons:

DOES NOT HELP SCARS, well at least not suddenly

METHOD: 2:1 tea tree oil to water ratio. 14-7 drops work well. Use cotton swabs and Spot treat the pimples with this mixture and then add a bit more water to make it 1:1 ratio and rub it all over the entire face with cotton balls. EXPERIENCE: I have mild acne, but get NASTY breakouts sometimes. I used Stievamycin before and had a REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH IT. 2 days before school started, i had a breakout and it ruined my skin, because i put on too much. i switched to tea tree oil, and am happy because I haven't gotten a breakout in 2-3 weeks of use. Scars are still there though, but I can feel no pimples coming. There s the ocassional bump but i put this on and it reduces the life cycle

Pros:

its amazing O.O

Cons:

sometimes it can leve your face dry, ive been using this for a while now so my skin has grown acustom to it, so i cant think of any right now.
and can everyone stop dissin the scent! it rocks lol

there is no FULL proff cure all product for acne, but if there was, tea tree oil would be one of the MAIN ingredients. go into the message boards, read about it, find a way to use it that would suit you. u wont be sorry :)

best SPOT treatment ever
It the best thing out there for spot treatment! Been using it for years and none of the drugstore spot-treatment works as well. I use diluted Australian Tea Tree Oil. In order to avoid irritation: 1) use only diluted tea tree oil 2) use only as spot treatment and not all over your face 3) apply as last skincare step, after moisturizer

tea tree oil with dove sensitive
I'm not promoting dove products or whatever I am just a grateful that this combine product work wonders on my skin. I have been using tea tree oil and dove for a month now and it really is effective on my skin. In the morning I wash my face with DOVE beauty bar the one who has SENSITIVE label and rinse my face with cold water. At night before I sleep this is the time where I wash my face again with dove , rinse with warm water, dry my face using a towel and I massage my face with few drops of tea tree oil. I let it sleep overnight. It is my daily routine and it cleared my face within a month.I am 19 years old and I have acne since 13 .I am also living in the Philippines so the weather is really hot and rainy so finding acne treatments that work is so difficult because of this weather conditions. I have tried different products on my skin that worsened my acne.. Acne sucks it really destroys my confidence to the point that I am afraid to look myself in the mirror so I want to help other teenagers with acne problems like me by sending this review and hopefully this will help you too.

try it!
made an account just to review this, really is worth trying, my skin has flared up horribly over the last two months with cystic acne and awful textured skin, have never tried tea tree oil before and bought some as was feeling desperate and no joke skin is clearing so fast, dries out active acne and calms the redness of scars, I used it as a spot treatment and, my preferred way, by diluting a couple of drops into a small amount and using as a toner. be careful if you have dry skin to dilute loads / use very topically but seems to be working great for me

Pros:

Clears out acne if used consistently
Cleans acne wounds and sores
Anti-bacterial

Cons:

Its green scent can be overwhelmingly pungent
Can sting
Can be too drying

Tea tree oil saves my day. I used to use OXY with benzoyl peroxide but have found out that tea tree oil is an organic equivalent so I've switched. I have oily face so I apply 2-3 drops evenly over my whole face after moisturizing. It stops acne in its tracks, so to speak. Only bad part about tea tree oil is that when you use too much or too frequently through the day, the oil can dry out your skin and cause it to flake. Just don't be too generous with it. A little goes a long way.
