Pros:

Shrinks pimples like nobodies buisness
It is fantastic I am almost clear.

Cons:

Some may find the smell displeasing but I grew fond of it.
May sting at first, might get dry a little bit but totally worth it.

This stuff is a Miracle worker for me I have never had anything clear me up so good before I love this. I have had acne since 12 years old, I am 17 currently and have always struggled with some pretty bad hormonal acne it covered every bit of the sides of my chin and jaw. But I am pretty clear now, I never thought I'd say it but I am happy this is working. Now I just have to get rid of all the acne scar/ marks. What I did is is I got a bottle, and I mixed witch hazel, rose water, lavender and tea tree oil together and it works perfectly. The lavender works as to calm down the redness in your skin and give it a more pleasant smell. Now you don't need all that stuff, the thing that is basically clearing me up is the tea tree oil but I thought i'd share what I do anyway! Now my acne is no longer severe.

Pros:

Great for the deep rooted pimples
Shrinks size of pimples overnight
Refreshing scent

Cons:

Stings a little
Smell can be quite strong

I love using tea tree oil! I use it strictly diluted as a spot treatment for those deep rooted pimples that develop along the jawline. I recently started a new birth control and am dealing with the initial breakout of bumps along my jawline. So far tea tree oil is the only topical treatment that has given me any relief. It doesn't work as a miracle overnight treatment (not for me anyway) but it definitely reduces the size and redness of pimples overnight. I dilute it 50/50 with water and it doesn't really irritate my skin or overly dry it out. So far, I am pleased with the results.

Pros:

Fades scars
Dries up pimples and cystic acne without over drying the non affected areas
WORKS

Cons:

Tingles and smells (but it's really not that bad just make sure you avoid your eyes)

USE THIS! So worth it. So I've had moderately severe acne for many years and I'm 19 now. Over the years I've watched as my friends acne has faded naturally while mine has remained through countless oral and topical antibiotics and 3 courses of accutane. I started using tea tree oil a couple weeks ago and there are noticeable differences. My skin is not longer a blotchy reddish-purple color and the giant pimples have seemed to disappear. This is not an overnight cure but I recommend it immensely.

Pros:

balances skin texture
minimizes oily/dehydrated look of skin
prevents pimples from worsening - nips at the bud
makes skin look smooth and glowy

Cons:

smell (but I happen to like it)
can sting if it gets in your eyes
not a miracle cure

This is the closest I've gotten to a HG product. I've tried a myriad of different things for my mild/moderate acne, uneven skin tone, and oily/dry combination problems. After doing Proactiv for many years (which was a great quick fix but began to dehydrate my skin), I decided to switch to all natural products (i.e. grapeseed oil for makeup removal, rose water for toner, etc). Tea tree oil has so far had the best effect on me among my natural products! Every night I put a drop or two on a cotton pad, then a couple drops of warm water, and use it as a toner all over my face. Sometimes I mix it with rose water instead, but for some reason I think the warm water works better. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and glowy! The areas of my skin that were dry and bumpy feel smoother and more hydrated, and the areas that were oily feel more taut, in a good way. Although it is an oil, however, it can be drying, so a good moisturizer after application is necessary. It is much cheaper than the high-end toners (Bobbi Brown) I was using, so it's worth a try for those who are skeptical.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Didn't work as spot treatment
Poor smell
Expensive

Unfortunately for me, I used this when I was still trying to find an OTC treatment for my acne. I know it works in some people and they swear to it, but it simply didn't work for me. I used it as a spot treatment continually for about 3 weeks and did not see an improvement in the time or the severity of the acne. I think this just shows how everyone's skin is a little different and what works for some is a huge disappointment for others.

Pros:

Works!

Cons:

Burning sensation.
Other than that, nothing.

It really fades scars from previous acne but it burns really bad. I even diluted it and it still burns my face bad.

Pros:

-Heals existing blemishes
-Decreases amount of new pimples
-Reduces redness
-Inexpensive
-Readily available at any drugstore

Cons:

-Feel a slight burn for about a minute after applying
-Strong smell (some people like the smell, but not me)

I've struggled with acne for two years and over the last three months, it became severe, covering 80 percent of my face in pustules, painful nodules, whiteheads, smaller pimples, scarring, and redness. The physical pain became so bad, it woke me up at night to lay on my face. I've tried so many products--gels, cream washes, spot treatments, masks, foams. Salysylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide. Sulfur. Doxycycline oral medication. It became exhausting, frustrating and expensive. My dermatologist prescribed me Acutane as a last resort, but I'm uninsured and can't afford the high price. I thought I was stuck forever and that my acne would get worse as it had been over 3 months time. I started using a COMBINATION regimine (see below) of Dial Soap, TTO, and Hydrogen Peroxide and I noticed a difference within 3 days I had 32 whiteheads on my chin when I began using the combo and they were cleared within three days. After 6 days, the larger, pustules and nodules began going down and drying out. The pain in my face went away and I don't get nodules anymore. My face has improved so much (almost 100 percent clear and no new pimples) and in a short amount of time. Because it's a combo, I'm unsure of what ingredient is most responsible for clearing my face--the TTO or HP. I don't want to stop one to find out either because this is the 1st time in two years my face is nearly 100 percent clear. All I know is this is working for me and I hope it does for you too! My regimine (in the morning and at night) 1. Wash face with anti-bacterial soap (ie DIAL) 2. Apply HP to a cotton swab and dab lightly to the affected areas (steering clear of eyebrows and hair line as it can dye it) 3. When it dries, I put Tea Tree Oil on a cotton swab and dab the affected area I don't use a moisturizer b/cI have oily skin and live in a tropical/humid climate, so I don't have much over-drying. But I would recommend using a moisturizer for anyone else because the

Pros:

-brings pimples to a head then shrinks them
-does a great job at fading scars
-don't have to be too wary about putting too much, because it doesn't clog pores.

Cons:

-Doesn't help acne in the long run, just fights present acne
-Strong smell (I like it, but I don't like my mom asking me if I'm putting 'medicine' on my face).

I've been using Extra Virgin Coconut oil for about three months now (just so that you know what else I've been doing) and it has really helped my acne in the long run. However, the acne that did continue to show up was still difficult to deal with. That's where tea tree oil comes in. I bought a small bottle for $10.99, but a little goes a long way. Last week, I saw a scary cyst-like pimple developing. The kind that forms under your skin and is very big and painful. I applied this to that faithfully and it made it first extremely hard, and then it started shrinking it. Now, there is practically no scar on my face. Had it not been for the oil, that cyst may have gotten really big and red, and would still be on my face. Tea tree oil seriously zaps zits, and dramatically reduces the size of acne. You do have to be a little patient though, it takes three days before the acne is completely gone, but it beats popping zits, spreading germs, and leaving scars. A lot of people say that they dilute it, but I apply it straight on my face, and a lot of it too. I've never had any burning or irritation. Then again, I don't have sensitive skin, so please, test it on a small patch of skin before applying it all over your face!

Pros:

-Works well if used correctly
-Excellent alternative to BP
-Doesn't cause burning redness like BP
-Cleans and disinfects bacteria on the face
-Dries out acne
-Almost no side effects

Cons:

-Can be sting a bit if you use too much

For those who have bad experiences, you have to dilute it with water. I rinse my face using cetaphil face wash, preferably with cold water, then after it dries, I stick the very tip of a cotton swab into the tea tree oil bottle and stir it in a cup with tiny amounts of water. Then I use cotton balls, dip it in the cup, and pat it over my face. After it dries, I apply cetaphil lotion. Then that's it! My face is more "stable" and it looks great! I definitely see faster improvement than using BP. Okay, I've been on Dan's regimen for 5 years, it was working well but I've been experiencing bad side effects such as redness and burning, and oddly re-occurring acne. I finally threw all of my acne.org products away because I discovered it was causing me problems: jojoba clogged pores, AHA damaged/burned my skin, BP caused irritation/dryness/redness, etc. So I had to find an alternative and this was the closest and best I could find. I use the Spring Valley brand I found at Wal-Mart
