Among over 98 compounds contained in the oil, terpinen-4-ol is responsible for most of the antimicrobial activity.

Pros:

Has taken the redness and selling down from cystic acne flare-ups.

Cons:

None. I like the strong scent!

I break out from absolutely everything, and freak out when I hear the word "oil" (tea tree oil) for my face! I was desperate and searching for something new and this has been great in only 2 days! I've applied it about 5/day w/great results! I always have some form of acne, buth thankfully cystic acne flareups are rare these days (I'm 40), but VERY common in my 20's and 30's. I've tried accutane, retin A,sulficetimide (sp?), climdimycin, aczone, every OTC med for acne, etc. I never would have believed tea tree oil would make a difference, but it has...I wish I tried this crap sooner :) I had large painful cysts next to my nose and on my smile line AND one on my chin (huge one)...I apllied this stuff for the last couple days and ALL of them are much smaller and the redness is almost gone. It stung at first, but went away fast!

Pros:

Works great on ACNE

Cons:

smells strongly

I used to have really clear skin, then recently due to stress, I began to break out and before I knew it, I had acne that I could not control. I was embarrassed by my face!! Even my family started telling me that I needed to get something for my face. I tried other over the counter acne treatments and nothing helped my stress related acne. I remembered that I had tea tree oil and started using it. Within 3-4 days my face cleared up remarkably!! I have been using the tea tree oil for about a week now and my face looks a great deal better and even the scars I had are vanishing. I will continue using my tea tree oil, and I will recommend it to anyone wanting clear skin!!

Spot treating worked for me
Spot treating tea tree oil on my problem spots surely did help - dried the spots and smoothed my complexion. I did stop due to my skin becoming slightly sensitive and having to start Accutane, but when I did use this stuff it would work. I did not use a carrier oil.

potentially more damaging than nourishing
very harsh stuff. caused my skin alot of damage. can kill acne, but can damage skin. would not describe it as 'nourishing'

Depending on the purity
Tea tree oil is known for its antibacterial and healing properties and I use it sometimes. The one I used at first wasn't 100 percent pure and I really didn't notice a difference so I decided to purchase a100 percent pure tea tree oil bottle. This was slightly better and I did notice a bit of difference but not a major one. I would recommend it but it wouldn't be my first choice.

great product

Pros:

clears up acne fast
starting to fade dark spots
brings pimole to the surface fast

Cons:

dryes out skin for the first week

I'm 16 years old ,& I'm a sophomore in high school . I just started breaking out bad this year . Last year I would only get a few pimples ever now and then . But I've being using bp for about 3 months now and bp worked great. But I decided to see if their was any other products as great as bp . So I cam across tea tree oil . I've been using it for 2 weeks now and my friends have came up to me and told me my face has been clearing up . So I would say this product is great

Pretty soft skin :)

Pros:

Makes my skin soft and glowy
Helps acne. Not as effective as BP, but very good.
Earthy scent :)

Cons:

Have to dilute it.
Mild burning sensation on application
You need to be sure your brand is reputable

I dilute this, 1 part tea tree oil to 10 parts water. I then apply a couple layers over my face letting them dry (doesn't take more than a minute) and then add moisturizer. Before this I was using BP (currently using the one from acne.org) 2-3 times a day for over a year. It healed my acne, but it doesn't go well under makeup and dryness made my skin look dull and irritated. So now I use tea tree oil under my makeup, and use BP in the evening / overnight, or any time I'm not going to wear makeup. I've been doing this for two weeks and my skin has never been so soft and glowing. It also seems to be helping with the oil production, probably because it's not overdrying my skin? It burns slightly at application but not really any differently from BP. I love the smell, it's just smells natural and earthy :)

Pros:

Smells nice
easy to put on
does not irritate skin
works effectively
no 'new' acne spots since using this

Cons:

The small bottle does run out very quickly

Ive used so many products from creams to tablets and nothing worked. So i thought to give this a shot and im glad i did, I used sudocrem when i had big acne spots which decreased the size then i used tea tree oil which made the spots smaller and less visible. good product! worth a try!
