Pros:

-Great, I mean GREAT, against cysts
-Dries up zits
-When used correctly, leaves almost no trace of cyst
-Natural
-Works pretty quickly

Cons:

-Can sting a bit
-Temporary darkening of acne
-If used incorrectly, can leave annoying scabs and marks

I don't always get cysts, but when I do, I prefer Spring Valley Tea Tree Oil. Seriously, though, tea tree oil gets rid of my rare cystic acne in very little time (about a week). The best regimen I have used for cysts includes aloe vera gel, tea tree oil, ice, lotion, and most importantly....patience. I put both aloe and tea tree oil on the cyst 1-3 times a day, and ice the cyst in the morning and at night after applying the gel and oil. Apply lotion whenever necessary (preferably with spf) The cyst will begin to dry and unfortunately, will turn a dark color (in all my experiences). Sometimes I deal with it, sometimes I put a bandaid over it. Anyway, do NOT pick at it for at least a week or it will swell up again with a vengeance. With the use of the oil, aloe, and ice, after about a week to a week and a half, the area will become like a scabby layer of skin. At that point, if it comes off easily, peel it, and there will be almost no sign that a cyst was ever there. Also drink lots of water

Pros:

-Eliminates red acne marks
-soaks deep into pours, helps clear blackheads
-gives skin an even glow
-

Cons:

-very strong odor
-If too much is applied, irritates/reddens skin
-while clearing pimples, blackheads seem to appear

I am 23, white, female, I've had terrible acne since I was 10. I have been using TTO for about 5 months, and I am very happy with the results. I still need to be consistant with my regimine for it to work. I spot treat big pimples by applying TTO to a cotton-ball tip and apply several times/day. I have watched dark, red post-acne marks fad gradually. (It doesn't clear-up right away, it takes several appliances.) Example: Last night, I applied the oil to numerous pimples on my face before bed, and I woke up and many of the zits down-sized to a little red mark, and the pimple was gone. It works great, and I have beceome used to the smell. I bought a small bottle (1 oz) and it lasted me this entire 5 months. Here is what the bottle says, "delivers natural skin relieft, know for its antimicrobial and antiseptic properties. Natural bacteria fighting topical oil. Massage on face, body and hands." It doesn't cure my acne, but it does help clear up my skin and post-ance marks. I recommend this natural product!

Pros:

Cleared up excema

Cons:

nothing

I get recurring excema on face with acne on chin. I add a drop of tea tree oil to my moisturizer and apply to face. Adding to lotion reduces smell and direct oil to skin contact. This has worked fantastic! This allows me to moisturize my face without breakouts AND it's cleared the excema patch on the left side of face. ALSO works on toe nails!

Very effective
Tea tree oil is a natural, cheap, and effective treatment for acne. It helped clear up my mild acne marvelously, maybe not so much my really severe acne, but I am still a big believer in tea tree oil. Makes my skin feel great and smooth. It's the perfect addition to any acne regimen. For people with sensitive skin this might not be best, not straight at least. For those with very sensitive skin I would suggest diluting it. It will still be very effective. This is one of the best acne treatments I have ever used, and I have spent hundreds of dollars on acne medications, from drugstore to high end products. Before going out there and spending over $100 on an acne treatment, give tea tree oil a shot.

Pros:

Heals existing pimples quickly
Clean feeling

Cons:

Smelly

I first started using Trader Joe's tea tree oil all over my face only to realize that it made my face a little red. I then only used it as a spot treatment and found great success. It dries existing pimples quickly and just flakes off. It isn't ideal for wearing under makeup, so I suggest using this as a night time treatment. You get used to the smell, but it'll always be there when you first apply it.

Pros:

Less acne
No pain, itching, peeling
No sensitivity to light

Bottom line, tree tea oil on acne works. I was sick of all the medications my dermatologist put me on, so I went online trying to find all natural help. I bought it, tried it, and now after just a week my face looks a lot better. I use Yes To Tomatoes to cleanse, witch hazel to tone, and tea tree oil (straight from the bottle.) I know you are supposed to dilute, but I want the full strength help. It'll burn your eyes and kill that nasty acne.

Pros:

- clears up acne like no other treatment!

Cons:

- smells a bit strong
- can dry out your skin if you use more than 3 times a week.

I wish i had known about Tea tree oil when i was in high school. I'm 25 and have been battling with cystic acne ever since i was 12. I finally found that tea tree oil combined with regular exfoliation is the cure for my acne. My skin has never looked this good! Ritual: I exfoliate only twice a week. I use all natural exfoliator (corn powder). I use it in the shower but don't scrub too hard. Just enough to get the dead skin off. And about once a week i use tea tree oil (use more often if you have more breakout- no more than once a day, 7 times a week). After washing my face, I rub on 3 drops of Tea tree oil onto my damp skin. Let it dry. Rinse once with water water then twice with cold water to close pores. Then moisturize. For added effect, don't rinse off the tea tree oil just skip to moisturize. Hope it helps!! Good luck

Pros:

-When diluted properly without oil, it can help reduce swelling and help heal blemishes faster.
-Fairly cheap
-Natural

Cons:

-Warning: If you are suddenly getting random breakouts, and in places you usually do not breakout, consider when you started using this oil. It is an OIL, afterall, and apparently it WILL clog pores if undiluted.
I thought I was diluting it with water, but apparently it is not water soluble.
-Very strong scent

-This had confused the heck out of me... I've used tea tree oil for years, but NEVER the straight oil. Tea tree oil I've used were always from another product that had small percentages of it. I tried the pure oil this time, and diluted it with just a bit of water. I've been noticing constant breakouts on areas where I applied this. The areas were also much oiler. I never had suspected that it was tea tree oil because I've used this for so long in other products. Be aware! I've read many people have broken out from using Tea tree oil, and that it DOES clog pores (even stated by manufacturers.
