Pros:

Doesn't make skin red like retinols

Cons:

Does nothing for inflamatory acne.

I was so hopeful to try this because A LOT of people on here say that this has worked for them. I've been using this for 3 weeks and in that time my chin has broken out into really big pustules which I don't normally get. Everyone seems to say that it takes a long time to work but how long do I wait until I try something new??

Pros:

Initially this product worked great. I use it along with Differin Gel and Metro Gel for Acne Rosacea.

Cons:

I believe I have developed a resistance to it after many years (about 6) of use. I've begun seeking other treatments.

To help clear up acne - this is a great product and I would highly recommend it...To keep up the "clear skin" results, not so much. It is quite a let down to begin experiencing all of the acne again.

Pros:

Works great and is really easy to use. It does not smell or cause any other side effects.

Cons:

I think that after a few years it loses its effectiveness.

I am in the Army and so I get a generic sodium sulfacetamide for free. It is not that well known, but I have kept a stash of it. I started breaking out again after a year or so of clear skin. I think I have developed a resistance to it or there is something in my new location that is causing me to break out.

Pros:

I have been on Klaron for 1 week and it is the first time I have set foot outside the house with out makeup in 7 years! It does not smell, sting, burn, tighten or bleach anything. I cannot believe the difference.

Cons:

I have insurance but I would definitely pay the $142.00 is cost without it. I have spent way more on so many products. You only need a little bit too.

I am 36 and have been battling Adult acne for 7 years. The depression it has caused has also caused me to gain 100 lbs. I had tried everything except Sodium Sulfacetamide until 1 week ago. I am using it in combination with MD Forte Facial Cleanser I. It is the only med with which I have seen such dramatic results. Goes on well under makeup too. My face is so clear I don't even recognize myself in the mirror. I am so happy! If you have suffered like I have this may be your only hope.

Pros:

Has really helped to prevent the little under the surface hormonal cysts that I get along my jawline and neck.

Cons:

I could see cost being the main con for most people. Fortunately, my insurance pays for most of it.

I have been using this every AM for a few months now and am quite pleased. My doc recommended this, along with Differin cream for PM, and an oral medication. I never filled the oral, and stopped using the Differin after I found that the Cosmedix Refine 8% product I have used for years works better, and I only apply that every few nights. Other than those two products, I just use wash (Vanicream bar at night and Cosmedix Purity wash in AM) and a good sunscreen every AM before makeup (Neutrogena Dry Touch SPF 30 or higher). Haven't had a break out in months. I do also get a mild chemical peel once per month. Between the peel and product I'm probably averaging at least $100 a month on my face, but it is well worth it to be clear and confident. I have struggled with mild to moderate acne for over 20 years. But ever since finding a routine that works for me, I get compliments on my skin frequently and people often guess my age at 10 years younger! Good luck all.

Pros:

It is clear so I can use durning the day under make-up. There is no smell. Doesn't dry my skin. I can tell already that it making huge difference.

Cons:

I haven't been using too long to find any cons yet. I'm just hoping I don't become immune and/or resistant to it as it is an antibiotic

My medical wouldn't pay for Klaron, so I payed full price out of pocket--$138 dollars. However, the bottle is very large and you only need a nickle size amount to spread all over your face. I really like this stuff so far. I would do just about anything to get clear skin, so I actually didn't mind paying the amount I did as I can tell it is doing wonders in only a week!

Pros:

Sulfacet-R works great for acne and is a topical antibiotic. I have used it for many years but it is very expensive without a prescription.

Cons:

Expense is about $75.00 without a prescription

I do not currently have any insurance and need this product for my skin. Is there any way I can buy Sulfacet-R literally without a prescription? I don't understand why the FDA will now allow this topical solution without a prescription. It is not a controlled substance by any means, and I use it as a foundation because it comes with a color blend tube so that you can choose your desired skin color.

Pros:

Smooth clear gel that goes on and dries fast. It also is great substitute for BP. It is a step above BP but not as irratating. It also can be used twice a day with no irratation.

Cons:

Price, if your insurance doesnt cover it the cost is around 100 USD but with insurance it should be around 20 USD. It also can leave a shiny appearance to the skin when dry, to beat that use a moisturizer.

This is a great substitute for going to accutance. I had moderate acne with occasional cysts along my jaw line. This cleared me up in around two to two and a half months. It worked amazingly for around 6-8 months then started to decrease in the potency. I started to get acne again but only mild. I went off it for around two months and went back on it. and a month later I am as clear as I was before. I would highly recommend it to people who are at their last resort. because unlike a lot of the stuff on here it accually works. Dont fool around with stuff like differn or retin-a go to klaron it is safe and mild on the skin and really works. Just try it before you go onto accutane.

Pros:

Klaron Lotion: It doesn't irritate my sensitive, oily skin. It doesn't feel like a lotion, it dries clear and leaves no residue.

Cons:

none so far.

I spot tested a couple zits and they shrank in 24 hours and are almost gone in 48 hrs. I think this might be a keeper. I have only used it at night for two days, so I am unsure how well it works. There is no irritation though, unlike BP (it left a red line at my jaw and dehydrated and burned my skin severely, even though I only used it once a day) and azealic acid (burned and itched and gave me a rash).

Pros:

Clears pretty quickly best to use during times you know you'll break out.

Cons:

expensive, antibiotic absorbs into your bloodstream through your skin. Exposure to anitbiotics create a whole new mess of problems. Which is why are are to treat symptoms rather than cure illness.

If anyone here is dealing with serious acne this could help out a bit but I did very well by doing internal cleanses such as parasite cleanse, kidney and liver cleanses for 3 years. Cutting down meat intake and getting protein through cleaner sources such as tofu, veges, vitamins and protein drinks....Tons of water and avoiding chemical exposure. Acne isn't always a hormonal problem or something you eat. It's not always hereditary but the habits you learn from family often are habitual and create the same issues which result in acne. Everyone's perception of what Stress IS vary so much that you have to find out what stress is for you and REDUCE it greatly whatever that may require. I go to Whole Foods for my cleanses and products that help my skin greatly. It's amazing how important a simple CAPSULE multiple vitamin from GNC can do for you granted it's the right one. Cure your illnesses rather than treat symptoms. Good luck, I hope this helps.
