I'm using sea salt for seborrheic dermatitis (aka facial fungus/yeast/dandruff) AND acne
So let me start by saying I'm 45 years old, have had acne issues since my tween years, have tried most everything. Before I get into the sea salt I'd like to say when I quit smoking and using any form of nicotine that got rid of at least 50% of my acne issues right there. Still its abit of a problem however minor now. My new problem that's come up in the last 3 years is the facial dandruff. I don't have it on my scalp just my face. It started around the mouth area and has to spread to pretty much the entire face. I've tried several prescriptions from the derm, lots of natural things like essential oils. Some of it helped, some not. I read a blog where someone swore by sea salt and I"m like what the heck, I have that in my kitchen let's give it a shot. I love how my face looks and feels! Like other reviewers have said, redness has gone down, black heads seem to purge out the hard oil, and acne goes away. Strangely it doesn't dry out your face (issue I've had with prescription drugs). I am sticking with this for sure to see how it performs in the long run, but so far it has improved the appearance of my face and the facial dandruff is mostly gone. Sadly I"ve had stuff work and over time it quit working, I'll have to see if that's the case with sea salt, I hope not!

Cons:
None!
I used it by adding salt water to my face steaming water and then steamed my face for 15 minutes after washing my face with Olay Gentle Face Wash. Then I would pop my acne after it had came to a head, steamed for 5 more minutes, dried my face, and covered my entire face with my tretinoin cream. The steaming caused my to sweat but it is good sweat and doesn't clog your pores. I did this every night. In the morning I only washed my face with a gentle cleanser and used a moisturizer so I wouldn't have too dry skin. THIS WORKS. I've tried Proactive, Acne Free, Clearasil, Clean and Clear, Oral Antiobotics, Prescription Topical Creams, drinking green tea, natural masks, natural exfoliators, EVERYTHING. THIS WORKS. It has cleared almost ALL of my acne in THREE days.

Ocean trip
I've been struggling with acne for about 10 years now (I'm 24 years old). I have very oily skin and a lot of redness in my cheeks. I've tried every kind of wash and toner I can think of and have spent hundreds of dollars in the past year alone on washes, toners, moisturizers, and face masks. Recently I went to visit a friend at the beach and after 12 hours of driving my skin was oily and shiny. We went to the beach (without showering) and when we got back to the car about 2 hours later, my redness was completely gone. I bought a jar and took some salt water home to use and I haven't had a white head in 3 days! My face is less red and it has even pushed my blackheads to the surface so that they sort of just come out with a little rubbing. This is the best thing to ever happen to me and I definitely recommend giving it a try. I put my water in a spray bottle and just soak a cotton ball to apply. I leave it on all night since my skin is so oily, and I don't have any drying issues. I can't believe good skin was so easy to obtain!

Fantastic!!
I've tried LOTS of natural home remedies for acne. Nothing has worked...until now. Sea salt has cleared my face almost completely in about 3 weeks. I had a really bad breakout and this just knocked it out! My face has never looked this clear. I add 100% pure tea tree oil to my sea salt and water mixture, and it has worked wonders! It's totally worth a try.

Pros:
Very cheap
Totally works
Easy to use
Very convenient
Cons:
none, really.
Maybe a dry feeling on face when applied and dried on face, but not overwhelming.
THIS IS THE CLEAREST MY SKIN HAS EVER BEEN. Over the counter products worked a bit, but i felt my acne was consistent, and maybe got a little worse with use of creams and such.
How I use: I use a facial acne cleanser.. then rinse. Then I take some salt, wet it a bit, and exfoliate my face. then rinse.
Once it dries, I made a one part salt-two part water toner, and cotton-balled onto my face, let it dry, kept on overnight.
My forehead has NEVER been totally clear before this.
LOVE IT!

Pros:
Works incredibly well, completely natural, so it's good for those who are sensitive to chemicals and fragrances.
Cons:
Irritating at times. Must follow up with SOME type of moisturizer.
After YEARS of bouncing around with all sorts of store bought acne treatments, and seeing absolutely no improvement, I finally decided to switch to a more natural skin routine. I've always noticed that my skin looks so much clearer after a dip in the ocean, so sea salt was one of the first things I tried... and I'm SO glad I gave it a shot. I've been using it for just over a year, and my acne is GONE. First, I just use Cetaphil for oily skin to get off most of my makeup and cleanse my skin. Then if I'm short on time, I'll just spritz my face with some sea salt dissolved in water, and leave it. If have more time, I take a bit of sea salt with just a TINY bit of water mixed in (just enough to make it kind of pasty looking) and exfoliate my face with it. I like to leave it on for a few minutes as well. It burns a bit, but not for long, because THEN I do a yogurt face mask. Just plain, full fat organic yogurt/greek yogurt. It feels SOO good, and softens my skin so much. It relieves all the redness and irritation that the salt causes, and doesn't clog my pores. Again, this has been my routine for a little over a year, and I might see one zit a month. I swear, natural is the way to go if you're fighting acne!

Pros:
-inexpensive
-calming
-sloughs off dead skin
Cons:
-stings if rubbed in
-must be gentle with it
You should always be gentle when using any exfoliation product, but I am super gentle with this and do not use it everyday because my skin is sensitive from benzaclin/retin-A regimen .. the retin-a constantly makes my skin shed, so I use the sea salt as a rinse and it softens my skin and makes me feel emotionally calmer -- I picture myself being healed in an ocean on an exotic island (far from the realities of brooklyn lol) Whenever I go to the beach I notice firmer, and acne free skin, so I thought why not make pour some sea salt in my hand, add water over it and splash my face a few times.. this naturally pops my zits I NEVER SCRUB, I only splash.. leaves me with noticeably smoother and glowing skin. I lightly scrub the sea salt on my back and KP arms (I know keratosis pilaris on arms and a cystic face,, I don't have the best skin people but beauty is from WITHIN) and the sea salt really helps the KP..

Best!
I have pretty bad acne and I have tried just about every cleanser & cream to try and help with my acne and nothing has made my face as clear as using sea salt! My face got worse at first because the sea salt draws the oil out of your skin so that was expected but after 3 days I went from having acne on my whole face to everyday my face being clearer and clearer. After the 1st week you could barely tell I had acne at all. I've been using this for almost 2 weeks every night and I have just a couple of zits now. I have extremely oily skin so I don't use any moisturizer after. But, if you have dry skin I would suggest a good moisturizer. Every night before bed I mix sea salt with a small amount of hot water so that when I put it on my face it is kind of like a watery salt scrub and rinse off in the morning.

Ocean Water
I went on a trip and swam in the ocean for a week straight and my skin was in the best condition it's ever been. I started my week with extremely dry skin with acne and ended the week in beautiful glowing skin! I went home and quickly created my own concoction. In a glass spray bottle I mixed in sea salt water (boiled together prior to adding it in bottle) and then some drops of purification essential oil and thieves. It smells delightful and goes on very evenly AND it refreshes my super dry skin. All in all, it's a win win.

Pros:
*Natural so no added ingredients
*Cleared my acne very well
*Affordable, I bought mine on Amazon
*Great as a cleanser
*Smooth soft skin
Cons:
*Stings
*Can cause dry skin
I suffer from moderate acne, on my forehead and right cheek.
One evening I ran out of bicarbonate of soda which I normally use for exfoliating, I had Dead Sea Salts lying around so decided to wash my face with them for some reason, I took a small amount of salts and put them on my wet face in circular motion, I could feel the salts melting and my face felt incredibly smooth. I then pat dried my face and used Finacea gel then went to bed.(I've been using finacea gel for 2 months, no results but no break outs either) The next day when I woke up the pimples on my right side had reduced(I'm not even exaggerating) and my skin was glowing too (like it used to when I drank 4 litres of water a day). I continued using the salts twice a day, morning and evening. By day 3 the gravel on my forehead was COMPLETELY gone, I couldn't believe it. I've been using this for under a month and my acne is gone I have nothing on my face apart from acne scars unfortunately... but overall I am very pleased with the results, they have worked very well for me.
Pros:
Clears acne, brings acne to a head, gets rid of blackheads and whiteheads too, helps with peeling skin, soothing.
