Work Horse
I use the Proactiv Three Step System, but I think the Repairing Lotion is probably the most important step. I used this for 8 months with terrific results. Then I went off of it because I stopped taking the medication that was making me break out. Unfortunately, I'm on a new medication that plays with my hormones, so I'm breaking out again. I pulled this out and it's working like a charm. My bumps are shrinking, and I'm way less oily. I expect to be blemish free in about 5 weeks.

Proactive Solution
I use the whole Proactiv System, but I think it's the Repairing Lotion that does most of the work. The 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide is gentle enough to use over the whole face, which allows you to treat acne before it appears. The lotion formula feels moisturizing. I still only use it at night. I tried using it during the day, and it was too much. I got really dry and scaly. A light coating at night all over my t-zone, and in about 5 weeks, I was acne free. You have to keep using it though. If you quit, you'll just start breaking out again. Hands down the best BP I've ever used.

Pros:

Clears acne
2.5% BP
Lotion and BP in one
Not as drying as other BPs
Fairly inexpensive

Cons:

Very small bottle

I have been using this for many years. I absolutely love it. I recently tried dans BP, which made my skin Peel all over. For me this lotion clears my acne and is not overdrying. I prefer lotion BP to gel BP.

Pros:

--love this lotion, have used it morning & night for OVER 5 YEARS!!!
--Clears acne fast
--reduces inflammation & redness of pimples

Cons:

--can be drying but...
use a facial brush like DermaNew resurfacing brush & another moisturizer like jojoba oil after! Thats what has worked for me!!

--Just use this product with a facial brush like DermaNew resurfacing brush! These products made such a difference for me!! I have been using Proactive for over 5 years--don't know what I would do without it. But I think this lotion works the best for me out of the whole kit. --Yes I still get pimples--but the bacteria fighting ingredients in this lotion keeps them to a minimum & reveals new, smooth, and healthy skin---especial when I use my DermaNew brush!! I just added this brush to my routine a few months ago & my skin is even better than before! Less breakouts & no flaking skin!! --Then just add a thin layer of jojoba oil for a little more moisture & supple skin--I have oily skin but it doesn't make me more oily promise! :)

Pros:

Low concentration of benzoyl peroxide
Nice fragrance

Cons:

A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for

I bought the entire ProActive set once, but now my daughter and I only use the Repairing Lotion. I like the low concentration (2.5%) because I can use it all over my face as a lotion instead of a spot treatment. I usually follow it with a very light day lotion.

Pros:

Reduces redness of blemishes by so much
Feels clean and smooth
Great for nightly use
2.5% BP

Cons:

Supposedly stops working after a while

This product was heaven sent for me. I ordered the Proactiv 3 step system back in April and I was shockingly pleased. Contrary to popular belief, this product will not over dry your skin if you use it with caution. You only need a thin layer of it over your problem areas or any fresh pimples that are about to pop up (I do not believe in spot-treating). I definitely recommend it to people with the skin tolerance for BP!

Pros:

I was using the whole proactiv system, which made my skin clearer but really dry and irritated. After I ran out of the cleanser I bought a more gentle one, but kept using the toner and repairing lotion. THAT cleared up my skin completely. I think the cleanser was just too abrasive. You can find just the lotion on ebay or amazon, which brings down the cost considerably.

Cons:

Order online, can be drying and irritating for some people.

Everyone's skin is different, but this is definitely worth a try because of the bezoyl peroxide. For some reason it's really hard to find good bp products, even though it's supposed to be better for people with red, swollen acne, so despite the cons I will stick with this.

Pros:

Seems to be the perfect amount of BP, as the effect is not too drying. It works to decrease redness over a short-term period of time (I've noticed a reduction in redness within 15 minutes) while also reducing acne size in general (4+ hours). It has helped to keep my acne in check while using other products as "acne killers."

Cons:

It is a bit expensive, but it lasts pretty long if used properly. My mom, my sister and I go through around a bottle a month, applying in the morning and the evening. Calculates to around $0.30 per day, which is more than fair for what it does.
Also, during the summer, bleaching can occur if out in the sun too much. This was pretty funny for me, because I was extremely tan all the time from Tennis and Swimming, but I always managed to have some patches of white. Better than patches of red! :)

Without this, I would probably be up a creek. A lot of people complain about the cost of Proactiv versus its ineffectiveness, but this is indubitably the best part of the entire system, especially if rubbed in properly. When used in conjunction with a mild cleanser facewash, the benefits are great. Just be sure to be consistent with this product, as it basically sterilizes your face.

Pros:

Works great with the acne.org regimen! It seems to be doing the job good b/c 100% clear

Cons:

it is a bit expensive and you have to order it. And if i find it at one of those Proactiv boothes in the mall then it is more expensive.

I love it and thinks Dan needs to move this as the recommended product for his regimen.
