Pros:

Clearest skin of my life
Boobs grew

Cons:

Weight gain
Moods
Liver condition...

Yaz did clear up my face beautifully. However, that's about the only good thing I can say about it... I never had much acne before I started taking it because my doctor prescribed it to me when I was just 16 years old because of ovarian cysts. I took Yaz for about 2 years until my freshman year of college I started experience all kinds of crazy problems with my stomach. Digestion type things. Turns out that I have a liver condition called "Gilbert's Syndrome." Supposedly there's no correlation between this and Yaz but I never had any problems until about a year after I took the pill. Then everything started to change. Once I stopped taking it, my face freaked out, and has been ever since... Nothing I do clears it up. Not even other birth controls. Bottom line, it may clear your skin, but it may also cause a lot more problems that are more detrimental than acne... Good luck.

Pros:

Tapered the belly button hair growth I got from Alesse, short, predictable periods, no acne problems.

Cons:

I was an emotional mess, depressed, crying, and angry all the time. I had NO sex drive and was dry all the time. 4 months after I got off of it, I started breaking out with little white bumps all over my face, which later progressed to cystic acne.

Works great for some people, but NOT for me. My face is now disgusting and I used to have beautiful skin.

Pros:

None, honestly.

Cons:

More acne, moody, a period every 2 weeks, loss of motivation, expensive, joint pain.

Not worth it. Try other BCPs.

Pros:

Boobs grew significantly
Had shorter, lighter, regular periods

Cons:

Gained weight

When I first started on birth control a couple years ago, I was taking the generic Lutera which did not really have any affect on my acne. When my prescription ran out about a year later, I told my provider that I was really interested in trying Yaz for its supposed acne relieving benefits. I have been using it since January, and unfortunately I haven't really seen a change with it either. I am still going to stick with it, but in the mean time I'm using Proactiv as well. Hopefully something will work for me one of these days. Oh, and if you are looking for a birth control pill that will give you giant boobs, then this is the one to take haha. Also, I recieved a year-long prescription for Yaz free through Planned Parenthood.

Pros:

-no breakouts in 3 weeks of use

Cons:

-rash!! (looks like insect bites)
-itchy every where!!!!!

well i have been taking this medicine for my cystic acne and because my derm had to put me on a birth control so i can start accutane (in 2wks!!). So right now i am on gianvi (the generic form of yaz) and my skin has improved dramatically in 3 wks!! that is pretty awesome cuz all i have right now is just my acne scars. But for the past 3 days my skin has became more sensitive and itchy. and lately i've been getting this rash on my arms legs and neck and back that look like insect bites!! horrible. i gotta tell my derm to switch me to another birth control. well overall this medicine would be great if i didn't have a side effect, but i do, so that is why i don't like this med. hope it works out for you because it did solve my acne problem:) dang side effects....

Pros:

lighter periods
bc

Cons:

bad acne breakouts
mood swings
some migraines
sunspots/freckles
bags under eyes

i have tried yasmin, levin, estelle and now yaz. when i am not bc i have perfect skin and am very happy. yasmin made me break out levin made me sleepy estelle made me vomit every time i drank and yaz is making me break out again ive just finished my third packet now, during my second packet i was extremely moody and had horrible break outs. once i got into my third packet my mood swings stopped and my break outs ceased. but now at the end of my third packet i've broken out AGAIN. I'm going to keep trying for another few packets and if the situation does not clear up i will change bc yet... again. if anyone else has these same symptoms can you please recommend me a bc that does not make me break out? we may have similar hormonal patterns.

Pros:

To be honest, I actually cannot think of any.

Cons:

I was prescribed Yaz to combat my moderately severe acne and my severe menstrual cramps. I was told that this pill "had the least amount of side effects". For one, my acne did not clear up nor did my cramps subside. If anything, they got worst. I was about a week off finishing my first 3-month prescription of this pill when I developed a blood clot in my groin which resulted in a pulmonary embolism, putting me in hospital for 10 days. I was only 17, too.

This pill was the only conclusion doctors could come to of the reason behind my blood clots - i've flown overseas and have had major surgery with no complications whatsoever. I go on the pill for 3 months, and bam. I'm not trying to deter people, as apparently what happened to me only occurs in 1 in every 10000 people, but it has forever prohibited me from using any hormonal contraception again and pregnancy could be a very serious issue. Based on all of this, I wouldn't particularly recommend this contraceptive. After what it put me through, I wouldn't wish that pain (or scare) upon anyone.

Pros:

Birth control (the obvious), bigger boobs by atleast a cup size, lighter less painful periods, cute little turqoise packaging :)

Cons:

Worsened acne, caused breakouts along my lipline which continued well after the pill was discontinued, also it is very expensive

I'm not really one to write reviews but I figure I might as well, just in case someone else has or will experience a similar side effect. Overall, I liked Yaz as a birth control, but in my case while taking it I suddenly began getting these little pimples along my lipline. It was extremely unattractive and very frustrating as of course no one wants bumps on or near their mouth. You might be thinking, maybe it was cold sores? But it was not, I know what cold sores look/feel like, I get about 2 a year sadly, and these bumps were completely different. They were like literal pimples that I'd get elsewhere on my face yet were occurring directly on my lip line. I had NEVER dealt with this before, and to make matters worse I was breaking out in these little pimples just as often as the acne elsewhere on my face (moderate acne). I couldn't stand it but I didn't know what to do! Eventually I stopped taking Yaz but the bumps still didn't stop. Eventually I came to the conclusion that the only thing to deal w/ the bumps and get them to go away in addition to my other acne was to go on accutane, which I'm now on and the bumps have stopped. I only made the Yaz lip bump connection when I did a google search on it and saw that other people had experienced similar lip bumps, up until then I had no idea what it was and was constantly cutting out foods thinking I had developed an allergy to something I was eating. Anyway, I'm sorry this is SO long but I just felt I should share my experience in case anyone else has dealt with something similar.
