Pros:

Not preggers. Bigger boobs within the first week. Regular, usually predictable periods.

Cons:

Horrible mood swings and cramping. I fight with my bf almost constantly, and I'm depressed. Still get acne from time to time, but not as bad.

I use Velivet, the generic form. I'm horribly moody all month, with frequent bad headaches.

Pros:

- No pregnancies
- Predictable and less painful period

Cons:

- Didn't clear my skin (may have made it worse)
- Very moody (quick to anger, emotional breakdowns)
- Disturbing thoughts
- Possible weight gain (about 10 lbs)
- Very tired
- Decreased libido

I switched to Cyclessa from Loestrin 24. I normally have mild acne, but on this pill, I have moderate acne. I have been on it for about 6 months. It uses one of the same hormones as Desogen, which I took for about a year in 2007. Desogen kept my skin pretty clear, but I had no libido and gained about 30 lbs while on it. Cyclessa gives me about the same side effects as Desogen: - I am very irritable. When not on BCP, I am a very laidback person. Now, the littlest things make me fly off the handle. - I have had two serious emotional breakdowns while on this pill. I cried myself sick both times and thought about suicide. The only other time this has ever happened was once on Desogen. I finished that pack and switched to Nuvaring (and quit Nuvaring because after 2 yrs my skin started breaking out). - I sometimes think that I would be better off without my BF even though there is no reason to think so. Most of the time, I feel so in love I can hardly stand to be apart, but every now and then, I suddenly want him out of my life for no reason at all. - When I took a year's break off the pill, I was losing weight at a rate of about 1-2 lbs/week and reached my goal weight of 160 within 8 months. When I went on Yasmin in May 2009, I maintained my weight (but Yasmin caused me lactose intolerance and IBS which went away when I discontinued it), but when I switched to Loestrin 24 in October 2009 and then Cyclessa in February 2010, I have been gaining back all the weight. Nothing else has changed to explain the weight gain, but since I can't go off the pill right now to test that, I can't be sure. - I have been incredibly tired on Cyclessa just like on Desogen. Normally, I sleep about 8 hours a night, but on this pill, I need abouut 10 hours a night and still not enough. In short, BCPs involve a lot of trial and error. I still haven't found the right one for me, and everyone's experiences seem to differ.

Pros:

Not pregnant, happy with skin

Cons:

Feel nauseous in AM (but don't get sick)

I started with the red pills and felt fine, despite warnings that it causes nausea. I even took it during the day with no problem. I went on to the green pills and got my period (right on time). But when I went to the yellow pills (taken right before bed), I started feeling nauseous in the mornings ~ but didn't actually get sick. I'm happy with its efficacy in preventing pregnancy, and my skin is improved (still some acne but no cysts). Hope my morning nausea fades away, skin keeps clearing up and my insurance covers the full cost.

Pros:

Already had big boobs but now it looks like I got implants! Slight weight loss, rare cravings, 2-3 day regulated periods, slight mood swings... shrunk cysts..

Cons:

the first 3 months it gave me light acne and nausea but they both went away shortly

this is the first birth control that I have ever taken and I find no reason to change! Many places do not give birth control based on your height and weight but ask if they can! I feel completely normal and have been on it for 6 months!

Pros:

no babies, 3 day periods, lighter cramps, cheap

Cons:

extreme nausea and vomiting, weight loss

I was on this for about a month, and it did not agree with me at all! It gave me so much nausea, I threw up and got violently ill third week of my first pack, as well as first week of my second pack. I went and got something different (I was on Aviane before this, and now I am on Lutera, Aviane's "sister" drug) and have seen no nausea since my change-over. My doctor thought it wasn't just the pill that was making me ill, but after I quit Cyclessa I noticed almost an immediate change. I lost quite a bit of weight (7 pounds in a month) because I didn't want to/couldn't really eat...I felt so sick, and nothing sounded good. Just thinking about food made my stomach turn! It did it's job though...no babies! Just didn't work for me.

Pros:

Dont get pregnant and doesnt make me sick.

Cons:

TERRIBLE ACNE!! Constanly urinating!!!!!!

I've had a little acne before taking this pill, but now my face looks the worst it has ever and im a couple of years out of my teen years!! I've noticed i have to urinate more frequently since i been on it!!! I do go tanning (because of a skin condition on my hands) and dermatologist said that tanning would help with my hands, but all the other birth controls i was on before (ortho, ortho lo) had made me have a reaction called photosensitivity... and after about a week of taking the pill, i could tan fine. But ... the acne is so bad im thinking about switching... dont know if i should wait because maybe my body needs time to adjust to it??? And this birth control has cost me more than any other pill.

Pros:

IM NOT PREGNANT, and my boyfriend "goes" inside me almost every time...so it def works. Shorter perios d from before and not as heavy. Plus knowing exactly which day my period will start every month.

Cons:

Painful cramping first day of period, then its over for the rest of the week.

I love this birthcontrol. I never heard it helped acne before, so i cant really comment on that but my face seems pretty normal. Its small so its easy to take. Bottom line: Highly Recommend it =0)
