Pros:

clears up all the blemishes----as to BCP users claim

Cons:

weight gain,augments breasts-----as BCP users say

I haven't tried Diane 35 yet but i'm afraid of the claimed side effects of this drug. I'm still thinking of trying it because there are alot of adverse effects mentioned that anyone can get esp.when you decided to stop taking this medication.I'm presently under a topical and oral antbiotic regimen for a week now and still planning to consult an Ob-Gyne after my acne treatment to address my concern regarding the irregularity of my period, which i consider to be the factor of having this breakout..

Pros:

treated PCO effectively

Cons:

Severe depression, mood swings, food cravings and weight gain, bloating, very very light period, breast tenderness

I would rather avoid it than take it.

Pros:

Clears acne.lighter period,lower sex drive

Cons:

weight gain (i think)
(I work out 5 days a week and watch wat I eat and dont lose 1 pound in a whole mth!!!!)and thats consistent.

Been on this pill for 7 years !!!!!!!!!!!!!! love it for my acne.......the moment i stop taking it my face breaks out tremendously i coming it off and going on pro-active ...and get these extra pounds to come off

Pros:

My skin was clear and luminous for 4 months and it didn't affect my moods.

Cons:

MAJOR weight gain...and I know it is harsher on your blood vessels than any of the other pills...and I didn't want to have a stroke at age 31!

I work for a dermatologist and my skin was breaking out terribly...even though I was using a Retin-A product daily. I went on Triphasil in the spring and it messed me up so badly that I never got back on track and I had cystic acne on my chin every day for months. Finally, my boss put me on Diane 35 and my skin cleared up within a day or two! Seriously! But I gained tons of weight despite working out. I have noticed more spider veins on my legs too which is a side effect.

Pros:

Clearer skin

Cons:

loss of labido
made me emotional
hair loss on my head

I liked it at first, then my sex drive went way down and I started losing my hair! My skin looks great, but I feel like crap and am very emotional.

My acne came back terribly about a month after I stopped breastfeeding my second child. My Dr prescribed Diane 35 and I have been taking it for 3 months now. I am also taking Accutane at the same time to hopefully get rid of my acne problem permanently. I have deep, cystic acne that is painful and scarring both physically and emotionally. When I saw my Dr yesterday I told her I was going to stop taking the Diane 35 (my husband has had a vasectemy - this is important since you can not get pregnant while taking Accutane - it will result in birth defects) as I can't stand this huge appetite that I have, as well I feel sorry for my husband as I can't seem to get the desire to have sex whatsoever which is unusual for me. So I guess this will be the test to see if the Accutane is working when I stop taking the Diane 35 and hopefully I will get back the desire to have sex with my husband and lose some weight!

Pros:

cleared up skin, lighter periods

Cons:

going off it sucks, when on - decreased libido

For those considering coming off....here are some things that I have been experiencing.. 1. Increased libido 2. Increased acne 3. Highs and Lows - mood swings - awful! 4. Increased anger 5. Increased body oil - everwhere, not just face. 6. Irregular cycles 7. PMS pains - stabbing pains near ovaries

Pros:

-Clears your acne completely
-Miracle drug
-Don't have to worry about diet, exercise, skin care AT ALL while on it.

Cons:

-Acne comes back as soon as you get off
-Hormonal fluctuations and extremely irregular menstrual cycles once you stop it.

I have very severe acne and nothing seemed to be helping. Tried the regimen, several rounds of antibiotics, but no luck. I knew I had hormonal acne and so my derm prescribed Diane 35 which cleared my acne completely in 7-8 months. I took it for 14 months and now, 2 months after stopping it, the acne's creeping back with 2 cysts on my chin :( It can differ from person to person depending on their hormonal balance once they stop the pill.

Pros:

I have been using Diane for 3 years. It cleared up acne completely! It's nice having control of menstruation's, less cramps.

Cons:

Some weight gain, but I have had to come off of Diane because a nasty side effect has been depression, anxiety, worrying and very little peace of mind.

I would not recommend using Diane 35 for a long period of time!! It was fantastic for clearing up acne but the side effects have been pretty awful and I definitely would not give it to teenage girls in case the mistake their depression for changing hormones or teenage angst.
