Pros:

clearer skin (still not totally clear, but improving weekly), no weight gain, shorter period

Cons:

bigger boobs (was already a 34DD when i started this pill), nausea for first two weeks, noticed what appeared to be a thick, skinlike membrane in blood lost during period--had never happened to me before (and I'm not having sex so can't be pregnant)

My skin is clearing up slowly but surely (and I have always had bad skin no matter what I'm on/how careful I am so that's saying something). The membrane thing kind of freaked me out when I first saw it, but after doing some research it appears it could just be a thickened lining of the uterus due to going on BC for the first time in awhile. I'm going to see if it happens again this month.

Pros:

clear skin, hormones regulated, no pregnancy, regular period, emotional stability

Cons:

cant think of any

ive been taking yaz for over a year and i think it works pretty good. i havent gotten pregnant, my skin is more clear than ever, and i feel more emotionally stable than i have in a long time. some people dont like it becauswe it doenst agree with them. ibut if you think about it, different birth control doesnt different things for different people. some peop;le love ortho tri cyclin - BUT IT MADE ME A COMPLETE PSYCHO! lol. i would recommend yaz to anyone. honestly, i like yasmin better but apparently yaz is the lower dose of the same thing. i want more! lol

It's working

Pros:

Clear skin

Cons:

A little brown discharge

I was taking NOVIAL last year, (not for acne). My skin was clear in a month. but I didn't know it was because of the pill. Then I stopped taking them because it caused me migraine. This year I had the worst break out of my life, because I'm about to finish my career and I'm very stressed (stress = high androgen levels). So, I decided to take a low dose pill. "Yasmin". I have been on it for 2 weeks and my skin is getting better. For experience I know my acne it's hormonal, (hereditary) my sister had acne and as soon she started to take birth pills, her skin cleared up. So I suggest you, you must not take the pill at least you know your acne is essentially hormonal. It can causes you some issues. I will post later to keep you informed :)

Pros:

Haven't gained weight
I'm not pregnant :D

Cons:

breasts slightly tender (not enough to bug me)
slight acne for the moment

PATIENCE is the main thing with birth controls. If by 3-4 months you're not satisfied, ya gotta switch. I've tried the Ortho Tri-Lo or whatever it is, and it did NOT like my face even after 4 months. So, I gave up. I've always had FLAWLESS skin. I was told YASMIN is a more skin-sensitive birth-control. My first month I've had no break outs. I'm half way through my second month and I have a few small pimples. I'm assuming this is just my body getting used to it. I have high hopes.

Pros:

Clear skin, I didn't gain weight (and I eat a lot).Bigger boobs and lighter/shorter period.

Cons:

I urine a lot!! :( sucks it ruins my beauty sleep.

the pill is pretty good. When I first use the pill my face was a mess. I had a lot pimples on my forehead and a couple on my cheeks. These pimples were huge and it was totally embarrassing. I did not want to leave my house. Fortunately this pill made my face all better. It actually took awhile before it started working. If you have a lot pimples and just started using Yasmin you should see results after 6 months. But don't just rely on the pill, clean (wash) your face daily and use a moisturizer in the morning and at night.

Pros:

Clear Skin, Better moods, no weight gain, no babies, no PMS =)

Cons:

nothing!

I have tried at least 4 pills and this one is my favorite. I'm not planning on switching any time soon. Immidiatley after taking it I had lighter periods, which were SHORT too! My skin cleared up which had been a mess from ortho-tricyclen or whatever. No acne anywhere, i'm much happier, no weight gain, not light headed, i am just HAPPY! i forget i even have a period haha give it at least a month because it works different for everybody and you body does need to adjust. free on my insurance too! good luck!

Pros:

Acne cleared up, almost no cramps, not pregnant, lighter period

Cons:

A little nausea first month

Yasmin will vary from person to person, but for me, it worked great. My acne didn't really clear up until the second month, but now I have great skin. I had some nausea, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking a B complex vitamin as birth control can deplete B vitamin supplies. I started to take B vitamins after two weeks and the nausea cleared up. Plus, I have great insurance, so I only have a $10 co-pay. Just remember that each person will react differently.

Pros:

Clear Skin!!

Cons:

None

OCELLA WARNING!!! I have been off BCP's for about a year. I am 33 and my skin has always been bad but not bad enough to go on Accutane (not to mention I woudn't ever considering the risks and my child bearing age). So I decided to go back on Yasmine. When I got to the pharmacy they wouldn't give me Yasmine - they gave me Ocella instead. I asked if there was a difference and they said no. One week later, a break out (major), hunger pains, and most of all major body aches. I am stopping the Ocella now and have demanded my doc to say NO substitutes for the Yasmine. Don't let them switch on you! There is no substitute for Yasmine!
