Pros:

I had horrendous acne, worsening as I reached late 20's, I had given up going out with any sort of confidence - Dianette changed my life - I could actually see my skin for the 1st time in 15 years. At 33 I came off Dianette, skin is OK at present!

Cons:

Bad stomach cramps for the 1st year, no sex drive, bad water retention, put on a stone in weight.

The fact that my skin impproved so dramatically, was a far bigger benefit to me than any of the drawbacks above. To me it transformed my life and my confidence, however I stopped taking it 4 months ago, I am very worried about my acne returning, however my periods have not returned either which I will need to address at some point.

Pros:

I can't find any

Cons:

Clear skin

I started taking Diane 35 in Spain as I had really bad skin when I was 21, I went to the dermatologist and he gave me this and something called Androcur to work together. It took abour 3 months to clear out using an strong exfoliator as well. It was like that until I came to England and the GP told me to stopped that medication, after some argument eventually I did and she gave me Loestrin, now I have spots in back, chest, and face, I'm not happy but she won't give me my prescription. I will try to change to Yasmin or Marvelon. We will see!

Pros:

- Free (I don't pay for prescription) & bigger boobs
- Noticable results within 2 months
- Also helps anemia by having lighter periods

Cons:

- MAY have gained a little weight but I go to the gym, so just go to the gym and you won't
- Periods are actually slightly messed up which is weird considering the pill is supposed to regulate them

I know dianette has a lot of bad reviews so I was scared to try it, but this is the now the 3rd contraceptive pill I have been on and I had bad side effects with the first two - but none with dianette. My skin looks so much better after two months, people are even commenting on how much better it is. I've combined it with monthly glycolic peels and the result has been amazing. My skin is no longer oily, even at the end of the day. I still have a few spots but they are small and and easy to deal with, no psychological impact of acne anymore...My skin even looks clear with make up and the way it's going in a month or two I won't even need it. I will worry about coming off this pill when the time comes - definatly recommend trying!

Pros:

No baby!! No spots - most were cleared in the first month
Bigger Boobs - im now on Double D's
Regulated Periods -

Cons:

For all those who say it makes you fatter - stop eating
I haven't experienced mood swings like some say
but i havennt come off it yet and don't want to anytime soon.

It does it's job stops u from getting pregnant, reduces spots and may increase ur boob size. It doesn't make you put on weight, just eat less and exercise as usuall. WORTH IT

Pros:

cleared up skin beautifully. didnt gain any weight.

Cons:

none

i have been on this for 5 years coming off int he next couple of months. hopefully skin will be ok. i am going to take starflower oil (which will balance out my hormones) and vitamin b complex (which is good for skin, nails, hair etc. I also use quinoderm which i find very effective. I use clinique soap (for oily skin)< clinique toner and clinique moisturising gel (oil free) which i find very effective. a lot of people have said they have experienced hair loss and other such things from dianette but i havent experienced any negative side effects fromt his pill and would 100% recommend it. I had terrible acne before all over my face, neck, back, chest and shoulders from the age of 13 - 16 and then dianette cleared it up beautifully within two months.

Pros:

it cleared up my skin, regulated my period, reduced hair loss.

Cons:

made it harder to loose weight (or maybe thats due to the lack of excersise i do

iv been taking the pill for about 5 months now, its worked wonders on my skin as i used to have loads of spots and now i only get the odd 2 or 3 when its time to come off for my period. my hair also used to fall out a great deal (about 800-900 hairs a day) when it should be 50-150 hairs a day, and it also used to be thinning from the bottom so i couldnt have it any longer than a bob length, since taking dianette my skin has improved and so has the hair issue! with excessive hair growth around the body i wouldnt really know as i wasnt sure if i had 'excess' hair or just how much i always have!! recommend it GREATLY!!!

Pros:

Not pregnant, cleared acne amazingly well, breasts grew

Cons:

diminished sex drive, weight gain

Amazing for acne, id tried absolutely everything before this and it totally cleared up. Only downside is my sex drive has just plummeted, and it takes a hell of a lot to get turned on. I've been off it for 3 months now and the acne is returning a little, so am going to try yasmin as an alternative.

Pros:

bigger boobs, less spots! happier :)

Cons:

fatter!! and always hungry!!

i used acne after ALOT of other methods of treatment and was so unhappy with my face and chest and back. i ended up at the dermatologists and he prescribed dianette, it took a few months but it worked, and i stayed on it for about 4 years until i went for a repeat perscription and the doctors at university scarred me by saying that it could kill me! so i changed to yasmin, it worked well for a few months then i broke out again and this made everything so much worse. i went home and went back onto dianette im on my 3rd month now, the spots are better than they were, going to stay on these and try and stay fit and healthy!

Pros:

lighter periods, know to the hour when they are due!, pimples cleared up great which was reason i went on it, good contraceptive cover.

Cons:

I have noticed a bit of cellulite on my thighs
(lisa uk you asked if anyone had this too!!yes!!) that i did not have before, tender boobs, bloating, sweating and hot flushes when due, pmt at times can be bad but was like that anyway really

This is great for the skin obviously get the odd spot but don't we all!! I have been on it for 3 years and am worried that its not good for long term use and i am now almost 36 so think i may give yasmin a try, however i am so scared i get the skin issues back again if i try yasmin, a few reports i have read seem positive about it so i think i may try and get back on dianette if its no good fingers crossed yasmin works! i guess everyone reacts differently to pills you have to just grit your teeth and give it a go hoping for the best!!!!!!!
