Pros:

It was free, since my dermatologist gave me a card

Cons:

Have yet to see any results

If you have to spend money on it, don't bother, since you won't see any results!

Pros:

Time release capsule so only one per day. Works very well, no side effects.

Cons:

Very expensive! Unaffordable without insurance or winning the lottery.

My son started to develop cystic acne (like I had) so the dermatologist put him on Solodyn 90 mg. Once the breakouts were brought under control, about two-three months later, he is now 95% clear!! This product does take a while to wipe out the acne in your system so do not expect overnight results. Also, for max results, use a topical Rx from your doc, my son uses Diff gel and Duac... when I saw my son over the holidays he was 99% clear. The drawbback to this med is the cost!! A 90-day supply was a staggering $1060, but $160 with insurance. I will continue this for awhile because it works.

Pros:

Works pretty well, no bad side effects as of yet.

Cons:

Expensive! I hope you have insurance or your derm gives you one of the card/coupon things.

I'm currently starting my second go around of this medication. The first time I think had a lesser dosage, now I'm on the 90mg a day capsules. It seems to be working. I haven't had any bad breakouts since I started taking it. A couple pimples here and there, but nothing crazy. The first time I got prescribed this the derm gave me a coupon for 50 off which was nice, this time around they were out and even with insurance I paid 90. The pharmacist told me that without insurance it's right around 500. I'm not totally sure it's worth that price.

Pros:

No new breakouts.

Cons:

none

I was actually surprised that it reduced my acne. I was actually clear for a short while, cause I ran out. I remember looking in the mirror and noticing I look better and no new acne marks.

Pros:

after about 4weeks my skin looks clear...minor breakouts. doc says that it will take more then 8 weeks to see total results.

Cons:

i was on accutane a few years back and it worked..to many side affects and the pipmles always return. solodyn works but you must be patient :)))

besides accutane ( which i really dont want to go on again...it eats your liver, etc... ) i have tried EVERYTHING!!!!! i think this pill is a new advanced medicine that can work if you give it some time....really! i have not experienced any side effects besides some dry skin and i already have major dry skin. give it time :))

Pros:

Stuff works as far as I can tell

Cons:

drys skin a little-not a big deal

I'm have been on 90/mg for about a year when I forget the med or just don't take it I break out... It works well on my face not so much on the back. I used zmax generic it worked almost as good and was a little cheaper. overall if you have good insurance try it for awhile

Pros:

My skin got a little clearer

Cons:

I've only been on solodyn 90 mg for a month and a week or so and my skin has cleared up, but not totally. I'm HOPING that after 2 months that my skin will be completely clear :). The Derm said that i wouldnt see the results untill after I was on it for 2 months, so who knows!! I'm also on Duac topical gel which is probably helping some 2
