Pros:

Cleared my hormonal cysts on my chin within one week.

Cons:

I felt sick - nausea and tired
It is very expensive if you don't have the savings voucher or health insurance.

I had very light acne.. I had hormonal cysts on my chin area. I was prescribed 80mg of Solodyn and a topical called Aczone (which is awesome!). I had previously been using Retin-A but in order to clear the hormonal cystic acne it was recommended that I take an antibiotic. I was very hesitant at first because when I was 14 years old I was prescribed Minocylin and it made me feel really sick to my stomach and yellowed my teeth. I am 23 years old now and I didn't feel that bad but I was left feeling slightly off - like the feeling you get when you don't eat for a while and tired. Overall I had very noticeable results within a day. The cysts started to respond within 1 day. So far I've been on Solodyn for 7 days. I'm thinking about stopping it and going with the topical because of how nauseated and tired I've felt though.

Pros:

Started seeing a decrease in pimple size 3 days after using. So far it's working. Only cost me 10 dollars because my dermatologist gave me the card you activate on the phone.

Cons:

Dry lips.

Even though it says you can take this medicine without food, I highly suggest you take it with the biggest meal of your day. It will decrease your chances at the side affects.

Pros:

It was free, since my dermatologist gave me a card

Cons:

Have yet to see any results

If you have to spend money on it, don't bother, since you won't see any results!

Love this!
I'm a 13 year old girl with moderate acne. I've recently just started taking this along with spiro and it has started to get better! I definitely recommend this although the first couple weeks are a little rough. I was getting stomach aches and slight nausea for awhile but it's totally worth it

Pros:

Cleared up most big pimples
Went away ALMOST completely after a month

Cons:

Joint pain
Fatigue
Sleepiness
Vertigo
Super expensive without coupons

I have hormonal acne and I am also taking birth control and using Tazorac cream. It took about a month for me to see results, I'm very impatient, it took about a month for me to see results, I get the bad acne from my mother, almost all of my cousins have bad acne so you can def. see it runs in the family. This medication is very expensive if you dont have the coupons, even with my insurance its still super expensive. It cleared up most of the big pimples i got on my cheeks and the Tazorac cleared up most of the whiteheads on my forehead. My acne was sort of in the middle so my derm prescribed me both Taz and Solodyn, and my doctor prescribed me birth control to also help with my acne. Im really liking the results im starting to see. It takes a while but in the end its worth it.

Pros:

Amazing! took a little while to work but it has really helped alongside all the washes and creams i use too. i recommend for people with deep acne like i had

Cons:

it hasnt been tested long term...and i am still on it. my derm wants me to try and stop if i can but why would i want to stop if its working? however, i have been getting blood tests since ive been on it and my white blood cell count is lowering....

I would give this a try before using acutane. it isnt as harmful and the only side effect i have had is a lowering white blood cell count. at the beginning i did have stomach pains but they have gone away now and i take the pill every other day. just be careful with it. if something else works for u i'd use that since this one isnt meant for long term yet.... but it does what it's supposed to once u give it time.

Pros:

My cystic acne is clearing up and no more breakouts. It's really all that worked for me.

Cons:

At first a little dizzy with headaches but it didn't last long.

Worked well and I got a discount card from the doctor.

Pros:

Cleared up my face gradually
Got tan quicker

Cons:

Took a while to kick in
Once I got off it my face got worse
Yeast infections

Started taking this in June last year, 115mg a day, didn't see any results at first, a month into it started taking 135mg, no initial breakout or anything. Each month my face got more and more clear and by September October my face was basically spotless. In December my dermatologist suggested I go off of it to see if my face got better, it was great and flawless for about a month but then it got a lot worse which was disappointing. Since then I have tried other medications but none have worked as well as solodyn but it was discouraging that the effects did not last once you stop taking it.

Pros:

It works for me with another medication.

Cons:

A little dizzy with headaches.

It worked for me with SPIRONOLACTO ( which helps with hormones) Together they helped my face clear up and no new breakouts. I used to have those painful cystic ones so I'm glad they are gone. Now if I only knew how to get rid of these deep scars. Oh and It really bugs me when people write a review after 2 days. Give it time before you influence people on here.
