Pros:

Clears up spots and keeps most of them away!
Took them for about a year and was clear.

Cons:

I felt sick a bit after taking them, but feelings sick is better than having acne!

I tried all the lotions and creams out there, nothing worked... antibiotics were the next step. If you've tried them all, i'd definatly give these a go.

Pros:

I have used it for probably about 2 months now. Worked very well initially for getting rid of whiteheads and messy spots, cleared my skin up quite well in the beginning.

Cons:

It is no longer working as well and my skin is again, not as clear still barely any whiteheads but my face is full of redness and red lumps/'blotches'

Not working very well for me anymore, going to see my doctor for his verdict.

Pros:

Works fast, doesn't irritate, easy to apply, GPs are very willing to prescribe.

Cons:

Powdery texture once dry which doesn't mix well with some make-up & BP gels (especially DK's regimin), short expiry date means lots of repeat scripts.

Brand is called Zineryt. This is a really nice quick fix. I am using it with Spironolactone so cannot verify that this is doing the job on its own. Topicals don't reduce oilyness (spiro does that) but used regularly they can really help prevent the odd breakout. I'm happy with this product.

Pros:

it is the most effective and fast treatment I ever got.Even My Cousin's face started to clear off.highly recommended for cystic acne

Cons:

might cause redness if alot added. should be used daily with the right face cleanser until your face cleared up ,it wont be effective without it ( mine, Gentle cleanser by GLY Derm), but you'll reduce it day by day , until you stop

I have cystic acne and oily skin since the age of 18.For 4 years Iam looking for a miracle treatment .I went to 3 doctors (the best doctors in city).they insisted me to use recotine( which i highly dont recommend). I've went through proactive, natural treatments and every known treatment you would imagine.None were effective.my face became filled with scars.I looked horrible and untreatable until I made up my mind to take recotine pills I was about to buy them from the store ( after getting the doctors prescription) I said to myself "what if it didnt worked for me? think of the side effects.ok, it might clear them first but whats the garantee that it wont come back?am I going to take that risk?" so I took the erthromycin ( stiemycin solution) and face cleancer ( gentle cleanser by GLY derm) as they were discribed with recotine.for approximatly two weeks of daily usage my face 100% cleared up.A miracle .imagine cystic acne cleared up by a treatment that costs less than $25(2 items).

Pros:

clears acne quickly easy to apply.

Cons:

it stinks of vinger

i started using zineryt a few months ago and it worked really well until about 4 weeks ago when my acne started to come back again so i started to eat healthier and kept on using zineryt and my acne has died down a little bit again. before that my doctor gave me panoxyl which is a gel that you apply to your skin once a did but that made my skin inflamed and my acne spot look sore and red so that did not work and i stoped using that.

Pros:

Having had 2 courses of Roaccutane which helped but didn't solve my problem, I was skeptical about an antiobiotic. But i was wrong! Oraly erythromycin is AMAZING. I saw significant improvement after a few weeks and now I have perfect skin, literally.

Cons:

No side effects for me. My only fear is that eventually I'll develop resistance to it.

As your GP to prescribe it. Don't think that just because other antibiotics haven't worked for you that erythromycin won't. I tried 'Lymecycline' for several months with little improvement but erythromycin worked phenomenally. This stuff is amazing. And the oral form is also more effective than topical erythromycin (Zineryt didn't work very well for me). I would almost describe it as a miracle cure for my skin. Give it a decent try (you need to use it for a good 2 months to tell whether it's going to work). Highly, highly recommended.

Pros:

It was covered by my insurance....

Cons:

Severe dryness and horrible burning

The reason I stopped using the product Benzamycin was because of the severe dryness it caused in my skin. My face would literally be white with dry skin flakes. Obviously that was embarassing so after puting up with it for a month I decided it wasn't worth it. Also, as I applied it, the burning sensation it caused was almost unbearable. Yeah, not a good product.

Pros:

the topical form, that was prescribed on swabs was very effective. it prescribed for my shoulders, but i used it on face as well and it made my skin so clear. granted the occasional bump here and there, i though the medicine was very effective.

Cons:

it has a smell, the substance on your body is not like alcohol based products that dry up. Rather, it leaves a greasy feeling that I didn't like getting on my sheets. It was also itchy when you first ut it on. The cons are all minimal.

I used the medicine from 16-18. It is important to note that my acne was not very bad, so I don't know if it would be strong enough for sever acne users too. The medicine worked extremely well for me. It made my average complection very very clear. It was also really cheap, so its worth trying.

Pros:

Inflammation goes down

Cons:

Insurance doesnt cost much

Let me tell you how it really is I tried dicyloine did not work. Now Erythrocin worked well for the first three days then my skin really broke out I think it's pushing the zits up that were already there. It's nuts. My skin looks worse I'm about to cry..this is ridiculous. I might as well face it Ill never be pretty.

Pros:

this worked for me, i have been on this since 2001 - now. that is about 8 years, and it helped slow down my acne, i got less acne now.

Cons:

i have lost alot of weight, alot of people, including friends say this damges the liver, but i don't know what is true and whats not. i asked my doctor and he told me it doesnt do any damage to the liver.

this has a very goos result, depending on what your lifestyle is, i dont know if i can tell you to go out anf get this. i eat very little, perhaps once a day, i am 24 and under 8 stone. very unhealthy, but i find it hard to eat, i dont know if this habbit has something to do with me taking this drug for the past 8 years, as my weight as decreased in that time. personally, i had a good result, over the last 8 years using this. but today i spoke to my doctor and started using DOXYCYCLINE, 2 times a day for the 1st day, then once a day after that. check back with my GP after a few months to see if this works.
