Pros:

It quickly prevented breakouts and dried out existing ones.

Cons:

None.

If you exfoliate well after a shower and just apply a VERY thin layer , it works very well. My skin cleared up in three days! If it makes your skin flaky, you applied too much or you need to just put it on blemishes themselves.

Pros:

I've used it a few different times over the years, it seems like someone always has a tube. I usually don't apply consistently, and only dab a tiny amount directly onto the blemish. I've never had any dry skin, but I have noticed much improvement.

Cons:

None that I can think of.

We're a "fast" nation. Nobody wants to wait for anything (instant oatmeal, microwavable meals, fast food, 30 minute delivery, 60 minute tire gaurentee, etc). Well, I hate to break the news, but healing (including acne) takes time. Side Note: Those bitching about the price, it's called "ON THE SPOT" for a reason, not to be used over your entire face... that's why it's drying out doufus! I get huge dime-sized painful blemishes under on my neck around my jawbone line, and outside of taking oral medication for 1 or 2 break outs a month (which is ridiculous so I don't take the medicine), this product does wonders at reducing the size and severity at the detection of one of these monsters. I rated my acne moderately severe because I only get a few blemishes, but when I do, it's pretty severe! haha

Pros:

prevents new acne
dries old zits

Cons:

it might take some time to REALLY start working
dries skin big time
stings the first weeks of application

Over the past years I've tried this product and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I always suffered from moderate acne since my teen years, and the first time I tried On-the-Spot Acne Treatment, it seemed to work perfectly fine. I would stop using it because it was to the point where my skin was completely clear and it was only making my skin dry. Acne came back (of course) for a few times and I went back to use this product, but like I said there were times when it wouldn't work at all and had to use something else to treat my acne. Right now Neutrogena On-the-Spot Acne Treatment is SLOWLY working again(been using it for a month,) but just last night I decided to try baking soda as a mask (3 times a week) and Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner as well. I just put it on my face last night and already saw improvement. The days I don't use baking soda, I'll keep putting On-the-Spot Acne Treatment... see how it goes!

Pros:

GREAT!!! WORKS FAST!
-I put on some before bed in combination with proactice
-works better than the refining mask

Cons:

dries skin fast!!!!
Kind of coats skin with clear layer

GREAT PRODUCT!!! ill put this on in the early afternoon after the proactive has settled in, then at night, once at about 7 and once before bed. It really works fast. You see a diffecerence in about 1 day of use. It does dry skin VERY quickly. that actually irritated my skin once and made it worse but all in all great product!!

Pros:

If applied for a couple consistent nights it will clear up all types of acne--blackheads, whiteheads, papules. You can wear it during the day and under make-up. Fairly gentle on extremely sensitive skin.

Cons:

Has the potential to dry out skin and cause it to flake.

This product has definitely worked for me! When I have light acne it will clear it up within a couple days. Very helpful product in clearing up all types of acne. I've used it on severe papules---acne that has been deep under the skin (and sometimes tried to pop) and it has helped in soothing the acne and improving its appearance in only a few days. It does have the tendency to dry out skin, so only use as directed (a very small amount on each pimple). I usually see the flakiness as part of the healing process. It's somewhat like exfoliation. It's never uncomfortable and is easy to fix with a small amount of lotion.

Pros:

Seems to work well as part of "The Regimen." It's my 2nd week on "The Regimen" and it's going well. I'm psyched!!!

Cons:

Does not "glide" over the skin -- becomes a bit tacky with a toothpaste-like consistency. Therefore it is difficult to spread it around gently, without feeling like I am dragging or pulling my skin a bit, with my fingertips.

I'm 33 and have light acne. I have been following "The Regimen" perfectly, for about 2 weeks: 1. I wash with Neutrogena soap (the "acne-prone skin formula" which is non-medicated, it's just the traditional amber-colored, transparent face soap.) 2. Then I apply Neutrogena "On The Spot" all over my face, as dictated by The Regimen. 3. Lastly, I apply a generic, drugstore version of Cetaphil Lotion. 4. No sunblock. I'm very fair, so I religiously wear a sun hat. I have found that this product (Neutrogena On-The-Spot) works well with The Regimen. I am generally doing all three steps, morning and night. My face gets too red at times, so, over the course of the past 2 weeks, I have occasionally eliminated ONE of the twice-daily BP doses (instead, I gently wash my face, and only apply moisturizer afterwards.) I plan to reward myself by ordering Dan's "AHA+" in August. I think I will incorporate the AHA+ very gradually. Perhaps using it twice a

Pros:

Effective and can speed up the healing process of a pimple... makes them look almost invisible.

Cons:

Flakes out so if applied and you go out it can look embarrassing (like dried out milk), sometimes it burns and dries skin.

Good Product... nothing spectacular nor miraculous... but still good. Especially if you like me get an occasional huge pimple that looks really unattractive... it has also helped me get rid of these annoying smaller pimples that I have on my chin.

Pros:

Easily absorbed, good consistency (I like the cream), does the job...

Cons:

It's only a months worth if you use it as the regimen

I gave the regimen a try and its been 2 weeks. I'll update after a month but want to now because I like it. First few times was slightly irritating, but no overall redness or dryness. I have sensitive/combo skin and it is gentle & balances my t-zone oiliness. I mainly break out on my right side...but it still has evened out my left which is now super clear and even. It has brought long lingering little undergrounders to surface and am in that phase after 2 weeks. I notice they go away much faster and will continue to use am/pm. I had no idea this was a preventative treatment, makes sense, & I hope there is no immunity.

Pros:

gets rid of small zits quickly, easy to use

Cons:

drys out skin, gave me a rash on my chin

This product is good if you don't break out a lot, and for small zits but don't use it too much or it will dry out your skin and cause it to flake
