glyceral stearate is SE not NSE
I did like this moisturizer - have used it on and off for years - watch out people - the Glyceral Stearate is SE; note from Johnson and Johnson and myself- "Dear Mrs XXXXXXXX Thank you for contacting the Consumer Care Centre regarding NEUTROGENA* Oil-Free Moisture for Combination Skin. The glyceryl stearate in NEUTROGENA* Oil-Free Moisture for Combination Skin is self-emulsifying. Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us. Should you wish to discuss this matter, please do not hesitate to contact our Consumer Care Centre during Sydney business hours on 1800 029 979. Yours sincerely JOHNSON & JOHNSON PACIFIC " MY EMAIL " Isnt glyceral stearate SE comedogenic? How is this lowered to be non comedogenic" THIER EMAIL "Our Technical Team as advised the following answer to your question- A product's comedogenicity is dependent on the formula as a whole and not on an individual ingredient. The concentration of the ingredient and how it is formulated is very important in ensuring the final product will not clog pores. An independent dermatologist conducted a clinical comedogenicity study on the product and found the product to be non-comedogenic." Go figure - people with acne are doomed - who knows what to do - sometimes I feel like using nothing - nothing at all!

Thankyou! I was entertained by your post. Ive been sneaking my moms cream of this kind, it has felt amazing. I finally bought my own but am researching ingredients. Im stuck on the Diazolidinyl Urea; As a releaser of formaldehyde? My quandry is; Does it release immediately? Orrrrr pretend it's shelflife expires say 1year... Will it release then after it no longer does it's job of embalming our face cream? Hmm, so lame to be looking up all of this. But it's a good thing I'm looking stuff up. ( ps. Look up formalehyde & note to always wash brand new clothes n sheets even) gross stuff. Anyways! The product makes my skin look nice. But will I turn into queen elizabeth and her painted face and poisoning my skin using something to look "beautiful"? Juuuust looking and reading. Personally aloevera works all year around for me in many cases. I have sensitive skin but, it's still romantic to think i can use a lotion right? Ang.

Alright but..
I bought this product because I saw one of my basketball team members use it. I tried it and it felt alright. I have t-zone acne mainly, and the occasional black head on my cheeks. Whenever I wash my face its left dry so I needed a moisturizer. The Neutrogena oil free combination skin moisturizer is great in moisturing your face. However at first when I put it on my face doesn't feel oily or anything, but later on in the day my face starts to look shiney on my forehead and nose. This moisturizer is great for moisture but the oil free part does not keep your oil at bay.

It's ok...

Pros:

Non-comedogenic
Fairly cheap
Absorbs quickly

Cons:

Doesn't moisturise THAT well

I think this is an alright moisturiser. I mean, it shouldn't be overlooked that it is completely non-comedogenic and all the ingredients are safe. But to be honest, it doesn't moisturise THAT well... I feel like there are better ones on the market...

Pros:

Less shine
makes you look matte
non greasy
absorbs quickly
moisturized some areas

Cons:

Doesn't moisturize whole face
Clogged pores around nose
nose filled with blackheads/small red bumps
A little expensive
nose more oily?

I have a combination of oily(t-zone)/dry skin(cheeks, jaw, etc). At first this worked in the beginning. When i first bought it i had some redness/ irritation on my nose due to using oxy cleansing pads. It actually helped with the redness in the first 3 days. However, after a few weeks i started to notice my nose just kept getting clogged. My nose just kept getting blackheads, puss or white stuff from pores, bumps(clogged pores?) and very small red pimples. Even, when i exfoliate they return in 2 days.My nose is usually very oily but when i don't moisturize it seems to get worst. I really wanted this to work. Hard to find something that works for my skin.

Pros:

price-good moisture-dry in fast

Cons:

perfume-mattifying effect not that strong

very average moisturiser, but beeing oil free mattifyer it is many better ones out there. as a normal moisturiser for someone with just a little ekstra shine and moderate at most acne i could recommend, but if u have dry skin and or more then moderate acne like many on acne.org the stay away.

Pros:

Inexpensive and easy to find

Cons:

Does not provide enough moisture for my face.

I prefer the similar Neutrogena lotion for "Sensitive Skin" for use on my face. My skin feels softer and I don't have to reapply the lotion.

Pros:

lightweight, fragrance free and doesn't clog my pores

Cons:

Sometimes it isn't heavy enough for my skin and dry patches I get especially in the winter. I have somewhat oily skin and it somehow makes me feel dry.

I definately don't use this everyday because I feel like it doesn't moisurize my really rough dry patches. It is light weight which is a good thing when I have an outbreak. During these times it doesn't feel like it is contributing to my acne. I use this when I need to give my skin a break from heavy moisturizers.

Pros:

Lightweight cream

Cons:

This irritated my skin immediately after I put it on. It started stinging and burning and I had to take it off, so I didn't get to see how moisturizing it would be at all.

Irritated my skin terribly! (I have sensitive skin, very dry in some parts and oily in others).

Pros:

cheap, doesn't leave behind residue or shine.

Cons:

Doesn't moisturize dry zones properly. Actually caused skin irritation in the cheek area just below the eyes, alongside either side of my nose.

For my combination skin this product is lousy. I tried it on 4 different occasions, each time it produced the same result. Threw it out and will buy LaRoche Rosaliac tomorrow which is a FAR superior product and worth the added expense ($30). The neutrogena was a mild skin irritant and caused redness, I will not buy this product again.
