Neutrogena : Oil-Free Acne Wash

usually, my skin does not react to salicylic acid at all, but I was pleasantly surprised that it actually helped with the breakouts. I've only started to use this product a couple of days ago, and first impressions are important for me. This product made my skin feel really clean, although it dried out my face a bit..it's nothing that a moisturizer can't fix. I use this in junction with the Acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide and I find that it works wonders. All you need is a reaaaaaaaally good moisturizer.

Everyone talks down about this product but the reason why it makes your skin breakout after using it is because it gets rid of the dead skin that is hiding the acne under it. It has to get the dead skin off and then reveal the acne underneath. If your skin is red before you use this product, then that is acne under your skin. Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash drys out the skin, kills the existing acne you have on your top layer of skin, then it uses the 2%Salicylic Acid to take off the dead skin and reveal the hidden acne. People do not give this wash the honoribility it deserves. Its first step in getting rid of acne is to reveal it then heal it.

I hardly ever get acne apart from the occasional pimple but sometimes it gets really bad. I tried this out and it does thoroughly clean my face but it's makes my skin a lot tighter. I also noticed that after a few weeks of using it, the skin on my nose began flaking. This product is harsh on sensitive skin and may not work on all skin types.

This made my oily skin dry and flaky. I'm usually happy with neutrogena formulations, but I hated this product. Way too harsh for human skin.

Nostalgia like woah. I used this when I first started getting acne and honestly as a 10,11,12 year old it was pretty good for my skin. However, I know for a fact it would be way too harsh on my skin now (and by that I mean dry me out). Plus again, salcylic acid is not for every one (because its the worst and has no right to be compared to my one true love benzoyl peroxide). HOTTAKE: if you're younger and looking for something easy and cheap- and your skin agrees with SA then I would say "go for it. Walk a mile in my acne-prone shoes." But if you're not young, & can afford a different soap, then yes, you can, in fact, do A LOT better than this.

So I bought this to clear up what I thought was bad skin. 3 days later I have 10 zits and very dry skin. Only used once a day. Praying my face goes back to normal ASAP!!! Dry, red, sore and totally gross skin now.

I have it aswell that rash, itchy scratchy breaking red skin. I just rang Neutrogena and they said its because I don't have acne and that is the reason I got the rash, now im reading that even people with acne have this same problem. This stuff is evil, and should not be made readily easily available with such damaging effects. Retinol A can't be sold straight on the shelf, and this damages your skin even more than Retin A. Do not buy this. Its aweful, and a week later im no better. I want to scratch the hell out of my face, but its so sore, and my skin is splitting around my nose, and mouth and where the blisters have opened its now sore sores.

I had used this product for one day and whenever I woke up the next morning my face was swollen and had a reddish rash. I stopped using it and it's the day after but the rash and swelling is still there. I asked my friends about it and to find out, This has happened to a lot of ppl who used this product that I know.

This product is amazing!!! It really helps with the oily skin although it can potentially cause over-drying after a while but counter that with a good moisturizer. Cleared my acne in about a month.

So I recently purchased this product. I was originally using CVS gentle cleansing wash. I was looking for a product that contained acne medication. While doing tons of research I decided to go out and purchase this cleanser. Even though there are many mixed reviews about this product; everyone's skin is different. This product just so happens to be working for me. I noticed a difference in my complexion of my skin. My face feels very clean and smooth. Along with all those great things it definitely treats my acne, and helps prevent new pimples. The smell is a little weird, but it's not terrible. Many people buy the pink grapefruit cleanser because the smell is better. But I find that I can overlook the smell of this cleanser since it's effective. Highly recommend for people who have some breakouts! Also, I had sunburn the other day, and two days after using this cleanser it has calmed done the redness, and now my skin is back to normal. Amazing!
