Pros:

Cleanses, smells nice, cheap.

Cons:

Dries out your skin.

I've been breaking out really badly in mid November and only started to clear up when I started using this product in its second week with a moisturizer afterwards in late December. At first it did only dry out my skin and left me still breaking out. I think in order to make it work you need to moisturize well, and I highly suggest Cetaphil to help you with that.

Pros:

Inexpensive, good cleanser

Cons:

Can be drying, cleans well, but does not necessarily clear acne

I think this is a good cleanser for acne-prone skin. This is the first over-the-counter cleanser I have used that did not make my acne worse. With the combined use of Retin-A I have seen a signficant decrease in acne.

Pros:

Clears up acne nicely. Smells pretty good. Feels great! No dry skin.

Cons:

Must use consistently.

I really like this product. I have pretty mild acne though so I do not know how well it reacts on heavy acne.

Cons:

not a good acne treatment

I don't know what dermatologists recomended this stuff....but it didn't touch my pregnancy acne.

Pros:

clears up redness, cleans the face well, smells nice, removes oil

Cons:

drys up skin pretty badly

i used to use clean&clear, but i started breaking out again so i switched over to this. it really did help reduce redness and my existing pimples. i still use my clean&clear dual action moisturizer, since the cream wash seems to dry up my face.

Pros:

This cleanser is not the best on the Neutrogena line but it DOES in fact help clear the skin of all dirt-filled pores. It cleanses each pore and washes out the dirt leaving clear, soft skin.

Cons:

This product MUST be used twice a day (only if your skin is not sensitive). It does not prevent pimples, although it cleanses them well if you apply it to them when they are opened. Dryness does in fact occur.

Although dryness is sometimes a result, clear skin is right behind. Dryness of skin after applying to the face only results because of certain skin types. So many people complain about products. Why not be grateful for so many to choose from? It ALL depends on YOUR TYPE OF SKIN. If it is sensitive, go to your doctor. If it's carefree, experiment with it. Once you find the perfect product, stick with it and it'll stick with you. Neutrogena products are popular because scientifically and because of surveying it seems to help with the majority of people's skin types. Although some it might harm, overall it's effectiveness is positive.
