Do yourself a favor and try this.

Pros:

Inexpensive
works
calming

Cons:

oily towels

I just want to say I wish I would have listened to my aunt when I was a teenager. She told my to clean my face with oil and I thought "your crazy lady." Why would I put more oil on my oily face. Fast forward 22 years after struggling with acne since I was 12, I finally decided to try this as my last resort. Believe my when I say I have tried everything too many to list. I finally realized that I was stripping my face and always trying to dry it out. Your skin is not supposed to be totally oil free. Your skin needs moisture even if your oily. By constantly using harsh drying products my skin was producing more oil. It was a vicious cycle. So now I only cleanse with oil and occasionally use a honey lemon cinnamon mask. Soap never touches my face. Since doing this I no longer get cysts. There is no cure but this has changed my skin dramatically and I don't have to wear as much makeup and sometimes go without.

May work for you!

Pros:

Moisturizing
Removed blackheads
Made my skin GLOW

Cons:

Takes up time, so if you live a busy life this may not be for you.
The mixture doesn't last very long so make small batches and work with those.

If you go online a research which oils to use for the OCM, you'll find that they all use castor oil. Well I didn't have that when I decided to try this so I made a mixture of 1 part grapeseed oil, 1 part jojoba oil, and 1 part coconut oil with just a few drops of TTO. I recommend you steam your face before applying the oil. Then rub GENTLY in circular motions for a few minutes. You only want to try this if you have the time to do it properly. This isn't a method to be rushed. After a while you may feel tiny "grains" all over. If you do, it's your blackheads coming out. Gross, I know. This happened to me the first few times I did this method. After you have taken your time to massage your face, get a washcloth and dampen it with water that's hot but not burning. One area at a time, place the hot cloth on your face and gently remove the oil. When you are finished you will still feel oil on your face. This is fine, especially if you have dry skin. Heck, this is even great for oily skin but if you don't want any excess oil on your face just use a mild toner to remove. Good luck, and remember this doesn't work for everyone!

Pros:

so far it is working, i'm soap free, all natural

Cons:

takes more time than othe methods, is drying so have to moisturize

I was scared to death to try it I just new i'd wake up with 50 pimples and I didnt! I had to switch out olive oil and use jojoba oil tho, since the switch i've had great results, I do get dry though (which is weird cause I have oily skin) so i have to moisturize afterwards. I only use at night (more than that is too drying) and somtimes use sugar to exfloilate. I'm one of those ppl who have used everything under the sun (except for accutane) and so am excited to see great improvement from natural things. it has only been a week though so we'll see how it continues (i hope it last!), but as of now i cant believe that oil has helped my breakouts! sometimes you have to let nature do its stuff! ^_^

Pros:

cheap
easy
non drying
non irritating
your skin will feel so soft and smooth, not dry or tight
purges impurities
dissolves blackheads

Cons:

can be messy
can be costly

I ordered a large bottle of caster oil from amazon b/c the stuff they sell in the pharmacy is for internal use and is more expensive. I bought a oil salad dressing bottle (you know, the kind with the cork stopper) which makes it much less messy. I use 100% caster oil, massage, let sit while i shave and cleanse my body then use really hot water to steam/rinse the oil off my face. Standard OCM from what I've read. It's the magic ingredient if you are using Retin-A. It cures the dryness & feels great.

Pros:

no need for a moisturizer after
Natural
Seems to be working well at clearing my existing breakout
Seems to be lightening my hyper-pigmentation and helping my skin heal

Cons:

It can be frusterating trying to decide on oils (EVOO, Grapeseed, Jojoba? I am not sure which is best)

I started doing this with JUST EVOO because I had just done a chemical peel at home, and I just wanted to moisturize. Then I bought Castor oil, as well as Jojoba and Grapeseed. For the last week or so I have been using about 40-45% Castor oil, 35-40% EVOO, and 20-25% Jojoba. I have a couple of zits that have come up since then, but that is not unusual for my skin, and they seem to be smaller and healing faster than previous ones. I wish I would have started with just Castor oil and one other, then I could change things around after I got going and be able to pinpoint what each oil is doing for my skin. I DO like the EVOO, it seems to be working well, and it is supposed to be very healing for the skin. There are ALWAYS sites and people out there who say things break you out, no matter what it is, so dont believe what everyone says, do the research for yourself. EVOO is has not clogged my pores, and is the same PH as your skin. I have also heard great things about jojoba, so here is hopinh this keeps working!

Great for moderate acne on "normal" skin...
if you use the right combination and don't rub it into your face. When I first started It caused my skin to break out a bit more but that eventually settled. I read something somewhere about how it might do that, and it did, so i guess it's a thing. I find a mix of %50 Castor oil, %30 Calendula oil (with an olive oil base) and %20 Jojoba oil with 4-6 drops of tea tree works well for me. I use pretty hot (not scalding) water to really warm my skin up for quite a while before applying the oil and then let it sit for a minute so the castor oil can help extract any junk from clogged pores (castor is a "drawing" oil.. that's why we use it, that's why it can be drying). and then use more hot water on a clean microfiber washcloth (I bought 12 of these at the dollar store SPECIFICALLY for face washing) to GENTLY wipe it away, because when I exfoliate my skin gets red and irritated. So there you have it.

Finally
I and my girlfriend just know the OCM 2 years ago. We thought it very interesting so we tried. Location : Bangkok,Thailand. Traffic Jam,heat, smoke many pollution. Facial skin Me : oily and dehydrated skin with pimple and pore sometimes. GF : dry and sensitive skin. At first we'd try caster oil+extra virgin oilve oil 1:3 blended together and found it too heavy and not match for our skin so we used only extra virgin olive oil. After used everyday for 3 weeks we feel that our skin was tighten and moisturized ,pimple and pore were easily to remove. After 2 months my skin was clear and less oily but my gf got a little pimples and pores over her face. We both awed then my gf said "I've used many make up since I were child because I am a singer. So my face absorbed many chemical things, and it had been concealed under my facial skin" "and will you go on with it?" I asked. She said "Sure, I can feel that Oil is pushing some Junk which chemical and make up leave it on my skin away , I feels that my skin is stronger and less sensitive I knows It be detoxified". A Hard Year is passed away now my girlfriend feels very happy about her facial skin, It's clear no black spot or scars, strong, elastic as she wished. If you love organic way Oil Cleansing Method is very good for you. It maybe take much time but if you spend your endure enough finally Healthy facial skin will be yours.

AMAZING!
Worked for me! and it will probably work for you. I used olive oil and castor oil but dont use coconut oil because it is common that it clogs pores. I left it overnight , and today! my face feels nice and if you put some castor/olive oil on your bags and on your eyelashes, it will make the bags go away, and your eyelashes longer.

Work wonders for me
I may have gotten lucky, because the first oil I tried was olive and it hit the spot! About myself: I am 36, my skin was always far from flawless, but with certain skin care products I was able to keep it at about 75% flawless for the most part of my adult years. It looked nearly flawless during my pregnancy in 2011 though. Since those blessed times I've switched different skin care products and just couldn't seem to find my skin's soulmate. My skin was just okay, thankfully there's nothing that Bare Minerals can't cover, right? Well, this past spring I got hit hard with rosacea (it used to surface but not often), dry flaky skin, painful breakouts that would not go away and if I tempered with them I'd get scars that would not diminish and would stay for weeks!! My skin was red all over, with dark purple-ish bumps. It was dry and itchy, reacting to everything I've used before with no problem, I'd apply a moisturizer and it would hurt... The whole thing seemed like a never ending nightmare! Until I gave the Oil Cleansing Method a try. Again, I think I got lucky because the first oil I tried was the right kind for me. I used olive oil every night for about two weeks before mixing castor oil in and I learned that I can only use one drop of castor oil per 2 Tbs of olive oil. Anything more than that causes a pimple or two. In the mean time, I tried other oils just because I am curious and love trying new things and also because of the hype surrounding the OCM all over the internet. I tried avocado - too thin for me, my skin feels dry after OCM. I tried hemp seed oil - caused allergic reaction, as I'd start massaging it in I'd feel little bumps appear out of nowhere and I'd stop and try hemp oil in a day or two, same thing would happen and I quit it after a few tries. I tried jojoba oil and don't get me started on how it wrecked havoc on my poor face! My face turned bright red as I cleansed it with jojoba oil! Similar thing happened with sweet almond, sesame and apricot oil. Olive oil is the only oil that I tried which brightens my skin, cleans my pores, diminishes fine lines little by little, reduces redness and castor oil makes my skin look and feel hydrated. So, when I wash my olive/castor mix off my face, my skin is bright, plump and clear of redness and blemishes. I am extremely happy that I finally can look at myself in the mirror without nearly having a heart attack haha and I am happy I started off with the oil that worked for me. The only con is that olive oil is a little heavy and my OCM takes about 20 min every night but hey, beauty requires sacrifices ;)

Cleared my acne and dry skin! (Olive Oil)
I've had constant acne for over a year now and a few months ago I decided that I'd had enough of having painful acne and low confidence. I did a lot of research regarding natural treatments and I found the Oil Cleansing Method. I will never go back! I'll never use chemicals on my skin again which left my skin dry, oily, irritated and covered in acne. I decided to combine the OCM with a banana peel mask that I do 1-2 times a day so I recommend having a look at that treatment as well, as these two treatments combined have helped me so much. Before I started either of these acne treating methods, I had struggled with benzyl peroxide with left my skin insanely dry to the point my makeup wouldn't sit on my face at all and gave me swollen eyes which kept reoccurring even when I washed it away and avoided my eyes. It didn't clear my acne one bit. I was quickly losing hope and decided to do research for the final time before booking a doctors appointment. Twice a day I use this method to remove makeup and cleanse my skin, and I start with rubbing a small amount of olive oil on my face in small circular motions. My makeup is instantly removed, then I take a hot wash cloth and make sure I wipe it all away so that none is left behind to clog my pores and cause further acne. This is why YOU HAVE TO DO IT RIGHT. For some people this method won't work - all skin is different - but it's so important it's 100% removed. After this my skin already feels insanely soft and has a glow to it, and by using this method I managed to get rid of all my dry skin from the benzyl peroxide. Because the oil lifts the other oils I don't develop any new acne and when I wake up in the morning, expecting to see more acne like usual, my skin looks so clear! Even if it means experimenting with different oils, I would definitely try this.
