I've been using this OCM method for over a year with great results. Using other cleansers left my face dry & itchy...causing me to touch my face more, etc. After a few months of using OCM, it cleared most of my cosemtic acne and all I had left was the cystic acne that was occuring because of unbalanced hormone levels. I was able to see that I was getting new acne the week before my period. So I got back on birth control (Ortho-cyclen ... generic: mononessa or sprintec). The birth control helped clear the cystic acne. Nothing you put on top of your skin will ever cure acne that is hormonal. I've been on epiduo...antibiotics...aczone etc. It wasn't until I was back on the pill that I started to see the cystic acne go away. Now back to OCM, it's a great simple way to cleanse your skin at night. I use 50/50 castor oil and jojoba oil. I also made my own scent by adding in Geranium oil, Jojoba oil, Juniper berry oil, Lavender oil, Lemon oil, Lime oil. I rub that mixture in for a few minutes then I put a warm wash cloth over my face and then I wipe it off. I follow it with a homemade mosturizer that consists of jojoba oil, vegetable glycerin, aloe vera gel, and a little bit of water in a spitzer bottle. I have not had dry skin since I've been using OCM. And in combination w/ the birth control I've been acne free for the past 2 months!

Pros:

so far it is working, i'm soap free, all natural

Cons:

takes more time than othe methods, is drying so have to moisturize

I was scared to death to try it I just new i'd wake up with 50 pimples and I didnt! I had to switch out olive oil and use jojoba oil tho, since the switch i've had great results, I do get dry though (which is weird cause I have oily skin) so i have to moisturize afterwards. I only use at night (more than that is too drying) and somtimes use sugar to exfloilate. I'm one of those ppl who have used everything under the sun (except for accutane) and so am excited to see great improvement from natural things. it has only been a week though so we'll see how it continues (i hope it last!), but as of now i cant believe that oil has helped my breakouts! sometimes you have to let nature do its stuff! ^_^

Pros:

cheap
easy
non drying
non irritating
your skin will feel so soft and smooth, not dry or tight
purges impurities
dissolves blackheads

Cons:

can be messy
can be costly

I ordered a large bottle of caster oil from amazon b/c the stuff they sell in the pharmacy is for internal use and is more expensive. I bought a oil salad dressing bottle (you know, the kind with the cork stopper) which makes it much less messy. I use 100% caster oil, massage, let sit while i shave and cleanse my body then use really hot water to steam/rinse the oil off my face. Standard OCM from what I've read. It's the magic ingredient if you are using Retin-A. It cures the dryness & feels great.

Pros:

no need for a moisturizer after
Natural
Seems to be working well at clearing my existing breakout
Seems to be lightening my hyper-pigmentation and helping my skin heal

Cons:

It can be frusterating trying to decide on oils (EVOO, Grapeseed, Jojoba? I am not sure which is best)

I started doing this with JUST EVOO because I had just done a chemical peel at home, and I just wanted to moisturize. Then I bought Castor oil, as well as Jojoba and Grapeseed. For the last week or so I have been using about 40-45% Castor oil, 35-40% EVOO, and 20-25% Jojoba. I have a couple of zits that have come up since then, but that is not unusual for my skin, and they seem to be smaller and healing faster than previous ones. I wish I would have started with just Castor oil and one other, then I could change things around after I got going and be able to pinpoint what each oil is doing for my skin. I DO like the EVOO, it seems to be working well, and it is supposed to be very healing for the skin. There are ALWAYS sites and people out there who say things break you out, no matter what it is, so dont believe what everyone says, do the research for yourself. EVOO is has not clogged my pores, and is the same PH as your skin. I have also heard great things about jojoba, so here is hopinh this keeps working!
