Pros:

reduced acne, lightened scars through peeling

Cons:

first 2 weeks you will peel and feel dry due to the 3rd step. the 3rd step seems to be very effective, the problem is that I have the oily acne kit, but the 3rd step seems to make me really oily.

I paid $75. If you live in Orange County, go to the Asian Garden Mall, they sell is there cheap compared to spas, etc. And it's still the real thing, not knock offs. haha. But yeah, you need some patience with this. Give it a month and half. The first week, I saw a lot of peeling, which was good 'cause my scars were fading. Though it did not make them go away completely, it did lighten them. As far as consistency with reducing acne. It was kind all over the place. Sometimes I felt like it did its job, but at times, I felt like it wasn't doing much. But I am on my 5th week of using this, and am really happy. I took some before and after pics and I do notice that I don't have much acne anymore. I feel that this is one of the best products I've used. And I've tried everything from Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, Dr. Peter Thomas Roth, Proactiv, Murad, Exposed (complete bull sh!t), Juice Beauty, Dr. Perricone, and can't think of anymore. Get it, you won't regret it

Pros:

This product has given me the best results out of EVERYTHING I have tried (OTC products, prescriptions, antibiotics, etc). I still have acne but this has helped a lot especially with deep scars, it will smooth them right out and no more crater face.

Cons:

I used Obagi NuDerm 6 step system with tretinoin cream of .1%. With this product you will have redness, will need sunblock, and sensitivity to the sun. It is important to stay out of the sun while using this product as it will cause easy irritation.

The system contains other products that lighten the skin which help with lightening scars. I noticed the crater scars I had on my face completely smoothed out, and I am working on getting rid of my purple/brown/red spotting which takes time as I have been using this for almost over a year, which are now a light pink color. The smell of #5 is nasty but it's the corrector cream that does wonders over night espcially when used with the tretinoin cream. The tretinoin .1% cream is very strong. Use it very lightly because if you use a lot overnight your skin will literally flake off. I would know since I used a bunch one night to get rid of a new pimple. However, the tret cream will dry up your pimple so quick. A LOT quicker than Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. With other products, including prescriptions, it would take a couple weeks for my pimple to go away. With this it went away within a couple of days. So be gentle if you do choose to use Tret cream. The lowest is .04% I think.

Pros:

Easy to use. Great instructions provided.

Cons:

None

After years of struggling with acne and melasma, I decided to visit a skin care center in my town. I was prescribed the Obagi system and told that within the first several weeks I would see results. Within DAYS, I began to see changes. The system has several steps, but within a few days that no longer seems overwhelming. My melasma over my lip and on my cheeks in unbelievably lighter and my acne gone. No longer do I wake up with new acne....this just after a week on the system. The price was a big shocking at first, but considering how much I have spent over the years trying everything out there with no real results...I was worth it. I would highly recommend this product! I am so very pleased.

Pros:

It is a miracle worker. It's expensive to start the program but the lotions last a really long time (I've only had to replace the toner in over 1 year). It has cured my adult acne 100%, I don't need to wear makeup/concealer before going out any more!

Cons:

Expensive start-up cost, can be drying.

If you are in Miami, go to Dr. Weinman, he really changed my life. [link removed]>The obagi system worked wonders for me, the transformation is phenomenal and extremely quick. It's expensive to start the program but when you break down the cost per bottle and how long it last, it's actually very reasonable. It can be drying, your physician can help you fine tune the best way to combine the products for milder results. In my case I was using the nu-derm system along with some other products and doing chemical peels. Now I'm fully cured, moved to a new city and the new dermatologist I consulted complemented me on my skin! I'm currently only using the cleanser and toner along with a moisturizer. My plan consisted of: Morning: Obagi Cleanser and Toner, Clendagel (not obagi) and 3xWeek a mix of 50/50 Exfoderm and Tolereen Evening: Cleanser, Toner, Alpha beta toner (non obagi), clendagel and 5x per week 50/50 Action and retin-a

Pros:

It started removing the dark spots created by skin damage almost immediately. The tightening and overall look of my skin has improved 75%.

Cons:

I have broken out in tiny bumps on my cheeks that are creating more dark patches on my face.

I am 36 years old and caucasian, I have been on the system for 13 weeks with retin-a and I never really peeled or had a bad reaction and I expected that my sensitive skin would react poorly. I think it would have worked wonders if I was able to control the breakouts. I should mention at about the week 8 mark my skin was perfect the breakouts were gone and the spots were gone for about a week. Then, I had a very stressful and sweaty day and my face broke out the next day and now at week 13 I am covered in tiny bumps and dark spots again and still using the product till I reach the 18 week mark the derm recommended. I think the effectiveness of this product depends on your skin type and any pre existing conditions that may not be corrected by this product.

Pros:

Reduced cyctic acne, improves skin tone and clarity

Cons:

DRY flakey skin in the beginning, feel like you can't move your face

Stick it out. If you stay with this product you will see results. Everyone wants a cure for acne and I know that I'm a person that might not ever get an actual cure. Now my goal is just to manage my acne and this product does exactly that...eventually. The more you use it, the more you will like it if you can stand about a week or two of dry skin. It does subside. This product gives hope for clearer skin.

Pros:

Clearer skin, smaller pores, stops majority of breakouts and helps heal zits faster, few and minor side-effects

Cons:

Dries out skin, makes it sun-sensitive, makes skin somewhat pink, products leak. Change containers before traveling.

The Clenziderm system has truly been a wonderful product for me. *I also take doxycycline with the system, which certainly has helped basically eliminate breakouts. But Clenziderm smoothes out skin in the way antibiotics don't. If you are scarring and don't want to go for as severe of a treatment as Accutane (like I did five years ago), I would try the Clenziderm system for about two months. If that is not enough, try a mild antibiotic with it -- such as a 100mg of doxy. If you do get the Clenziderm system, it consists of a salycilic cleanser and toner (make sure you wait AT LEAST 10 minutes between cleansing and toning) that you use morning and night. And a nighttime-only benzoyl gel. Using the system correctly is a bit tedious but it's worth it. I especially recommend it for adults/older teens who can keep up with the regimen. For everyone - change pillowcases at least 3 times per week. Keep your hair out of your face at night. And DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Your sk

Pros:

I am a 50+ woman with age spots and uneven textured skin. The Obagi Nu-Derm line did everything I had hoped. Within 4 months no more age spots and my skin honestly looks 10 years younger, a very smooth, clear and even look and feel.

Cons:

It does have the obvious side effect initially that the other's have said and my doctor warned of, that is the severe dryness, redness and flaking the first 2-3 weeks. It shouldn't burn, if so, the dosage/application needs to be modified. It's pricey

I did not have acne, and after reading the other comments I don't think I would have used it if I had. However, my issue was aging skin, uneven texture, and age spots. The plastic surgeon I was seeing reccommended the Obagi NuDerm line for my specific skin problems and I have to say I am very pleased with the results. In the first 6 weeks I had to go back several times so we could "tweak" the product usage (like changing from the Retin-A Tret cream .05% to the .025%, to using a smaller amount of it daily for 2 weeks than building back up, etc.). I believe the success of this product depends heavily on 3 things: 1. Is it the right product for your needs 2. Working closely with your physician/estheticians 3. Being consistant in your use of the products. My only drawback with the Obagi NuDerm products would be the over-pricing. There is no way in the world that you can convince me that the 2 oz. Clear can't be priced lower than $91.00+tx. Poor economy calls for affordable pricing Obagi

Pros:

Acne cleared!! Nuderm was amazing, but then I stopped birth control and broke out horribly. Went on clenziderm-amazing results in 2 weeks!

Cons:

The BP bottle on the normal skin line leaks like a
siv! Burns like no tomorrow right after applying (would make my husband blow on my face for 20 minutes!)

Go for it! If you're doing the nuderm thing, please give it TIME! You will be gross and peely for 2-4 weeks but your skin will look AMAZING if you stick with it. I've now replaced the retin-a in nuderm with the clenziderm BP and it works like a charm! BTW, I have moderate-severe nodular and cystic breakouts (moderate generally that erupts in severe monthly) and of doxy, minocycline, duac, benzamycin, retin-a, sulpha meds, birth control pills (the whole gamut sans accutane) this is the best treatment yet.
