Pros:

If you have a popped pimple it will dry it out and will help reduce the scarring

Cons:

I don't think there is one.

This is a great tool in fighting acne. I spot treat with this. If i have a pimple I use a blob of this on the pimple with the BP. It reduces and disinfects it. If you have severe acne (I've never had) I would imagine it would help dry it out as well and disinfect it. FYI if you want to save money go to CVS or whatever buy the generic one, it should be bigger and it's the exact same thing. I use the ointment not the cream one. The ointment seems to last longer. I use it before bed not during the day.

Pros:

-Cuts chance of infection when used on picked acne.

-Helps to reduce redness, pain, inflammation.

-Assists in the healing of an already infected pimple.

-Resistance highly unlikely when used correctly. SEE BOTTOM LINE.

Cons:

-Doesn't do anything to unclog pores... it only helps with treating/preventing bacterial infections.

INFORMATION ABOUT RESISTANCE: It is possible for bacteria to become resistant to numerous medications, including Neosporin. However, you will see that Neosporin (at least the type I am using) uses three different antibiotics at once. For those of you who understand basic biology and prophylactic medicines (preventative medications), you will know that this GREATLY REDUCES THE CHANCE OF RESISTANCE. Bacteria must first have a mutation that enables them to resist the medication, and it's much easier to have a resistance against ONE medication than THREE. Hence, in order for bacteria to survive Neosporin, they must have a series of mutations that would enable them to survive all three of the active ingredients at once -- even if they're resistant to one or two, they will still be vulnerable to the third and thusly die completely or experience reduced viability, and the body will able to fight or prevent infection. IN CONCLUSION: use Neosporin properly and don't worry too much. The chances of bacteria becoming resistant to all three of its active antibacterial ingredients is extremely small. HOW TO USE: -Gently clean affected area with warm water and soap. -Pat dry with a clean towel. -Apply a small amount of Neosporin according to directions. -You may apply a sterile bandage if you wish. -Stop picking at your acne!

Pros:

helped my skin get back under control

Cons:

doesn't completely clear it up by it self

you might get a resistance if you use it to long

i recently had a horrible breakout and nuthin would help it!!! it was bad so i decided i would use neosporin all over my face (like dan uses the BP) for just a few days and it got my skin under control now i'm drinking 6 cups of green tea and my skin is continuing to clear up

Pros:

good for opened pimples
reduces redness
reduces inflammation

Cons:

apparently can come resistant to it

i always put a glob on any pimples that i must pop. don't pop the pimples just to put it on though. it's not a miracle cure by any means but it definitely speeds up the healing process if used consistently.

Pros:

Makes popped pimples scab quickly. Reduces redness a bit.

Cons:

Doesn't treat acne.

I use Neosporin on pimples right after i pop them. I'll usually get a scab about 3 days later that i can gently peel off.

Pros:

-works very well on red bumpy acne
-heals acne scabs VERY QUICKLY
-reduces redness

Cons:

-doesn't work on pimples

i use this on all my red, bumpy acne that needs to be soothed and have redness reduced and that works fairly well. on healing acne, i also use this because it quickens the healing process and turns the acne mark into a sort of flaky piece of skin that can be peeled away and if you apply more neosporin once you've done that, the mark is visibly reduced! this product works really well but doesn't work on my new pimples or popped pimpes

Pros:

helps with open pimples sometimes. really really helps with acne scabs.

Cons:

doesnt work well on popped pimples for me. can only use at night unless you wanna walk around during the day with shiny, oily ointment spots on your face.

i use it in a different way than most people. ive tried using it on a popped pimple but it doesnt seem to affect it at all. but thats expected cause i have stubborn acne. when i pop and pick at a pimple too much and then it becomes a scab, i put the neosporn on the scab and it will make the spot into a dif, healed kind of scab that you can just peel off. its weird but it works and thats how i use it!

Pros:

-Takes away redness
-Takes away inflamation
-Lessens pimple size
-Visible reduces the pimple to the point where you cant see it at all

Cons:

-A bit greasy but that didn't really matter

I LOVE this ! Last night there was this zit that wasn't super nessescary to pop but i couldn't help it and i totally regretted it after. I do the acne.org regimen so after I finished the regimen I decided to dab a little neosporin on it. When I woke up the bastard had COMPLETLEY deflated it was still there a little like the red but it was in my problem area and the whole entire problem area is a much lighter red! I'm very happy with the results I recommend this if you popped a zit and need relief.

Pros:

For popped pimples only: Greatly reduces inflammation, redness, and pain. Keeps pimple from getting even more infected.

Cons:

You can not use this as a full on acne treatment, only a spot treatment. If used too much you can get a bacterial resistance, then when you really need neosporin you are out of luck

This is a great spot treatment to use on popped pimples or big, painful zits. What i do to either of these is spot treat with a 10% bp, and then put this on after. Iv used this product for about a year or two (only a few times a month, when i can't stop myself from popping a pimple). This really helps prevent a popped pimple from coming back or spreading almost every time. Remember, don't use this too often! You will become resistant eventually.

Pros:

Great for if you absolutely have to pop a zit.

Cons:

Leaves your skin looking oily where you apply it, unless you buy the cream "pain relief" kind. I usually just use the regular kind at night, and the cream kind if I'm going somewhere (since I think the regular kind stays on better).

I love putting this on the needle that I use to pop my zit, after I sanitize it, to avoid infection. I also keep it on the popped zit at all times until it heals completely. I popped a HUGE zit on Thursday. I thought it would be red and nasty for a week. Now it's Saturday, and just a tiny red dot is left where the zit was! If you zit is really ready to be popped- this is a great product to put on afterwards to speed up the healing process!
