is it suitable for oily skin?
I have oily skin but I don't have many acne just 1 or 2 small only once in a while. I've been using this moisturizer for 2 days, and it seems that my T-zone is still oily and some part of my face look greasy. What I want to ask is whether this moisturizer can dry out my oily face or not or it's too oily for me. Can somebody answer my question please? Thanks in advance.

Since your skin is oily like mine, this moisturizer is the best option. It does make your face a little shiny, though. The only moisturizer I have found to not make my face shiny is the CeraVe line. For people with oily skin, the CeraVe line will over hydrate the skin, leading to a thick waxy layer followed by an increased shine and breakouts. CeraVe is best only for dry skin. This should not dry out your face, and it is not too oily for you.

doesn't really moisturize
I've been using the acne.org regiment for 3 months now. My acne has gotten sooooo much better since then but my skin feels grows, oily and flakey all the time. I can barley move my face because when i do it just cracks and looks horrible. I wish that the moisturizer was as good as the treatment but it just seems to bring the quality of the whole regimen down.

Pros:

light texture

Cons:

does not moisturize skin enough
makes your face shinny and flaky
takes forever to absorb
leaves yellow stain
strange smell.

I bought the whole set of the regime incl a bottle of jojoba oil. As instructed, I apply 2 full pumps for the whole face with few drops of jojoba oil. After 2 weeks of using, my cheek was always in a very dry condition with flakiness and redness, especially the under eyes area (where i never had acne). My forehead has never had acne and the skin was really smooth with no marks there. So I only used this moisturizer without treatment and my forehead became very flaky and dry. I guess 2 weeks might not be long enough to see the result of acne controlling function of the regime but it should be there where your skin gets adapted to the new moisturizer. Then I decided to stop using this moisturizer for a couple of days. No redness and flakiness no more! My cheek has become normal again and my forehead has gone back to its original smoothy condition. Now I'm still using the cleanser, treatment with jojoba oil but will never touch moisturizer! Not recommended.

Pros:

It's better than using nothing.

Cons:

No matter how much I put on, my skin feels dry. I really miss the previous moisturizer. This moisturizer feels very thick and heavy compared to the last one. The previous moisturizer was light, felt better than anything I've ever used, and it made my skin both look and feel really nice.

Dan, please go back to the old formula :(

Too bad…

I?ve been using this for A LONG TIME and like others I have to make a review.  Dan, your regimen has been the only thing that?s ever cleared my acne!  The moisturizer was thin and absorbs well!  I wasn?t ever afraid to put more on.  This new bottle (bought last month) is white in color, thick like Cerave moisturizing cream, and it feels very heavy on my skin.  My skin feels like it has a layer of film on it and the product pills in the morning (balls up) when I wipe my finger across my face.  I?ve got horrible cystic acne in places I don?t normally have (my neck, middle of cheeks, by ears near hairline) and a red rash near my ears (see picture).  I only ever use the Regimen and the moisturizer is the only thing that?s different.  Also, has anyone else noticed the awful smell?  I tried to ignore it, but it smelled like liquid fermenting at the bottom of a trash can when I first opened it.  It makes me sad to see so many negative reviews, and even more sad to write one.  Dan!  Please change it back!  You?ve helped countless people struggling with acne MYSELF included!  I want to cry because this is the only thing that has worked for me and now I?m thinking about tossing it in the bin.

I experience the same thing. So sad and disappointing that Dan let go of something that worked so well.

me too! it doesn’t moisturise at all, just like a plastic layer staying on your skin which clog your pores! Exactly is the Cerave lotion texture, I can’t use Cerave/ Cetaphil , too heavy , it breaks me out and burn my skin like hell!

Did you find another moisturizer that works. I'm looking for something else that works

not what I expected

I will start off saying I do not know how the old formulation compared to this one. However, one thing I do like about this moisturizer is that it does not irritate skin or cause any breakouts. That being said I am older with oily skin and even I don't find this formulation to be hydrating enough. Even with adding the additional jojoba oil drops or the Vinchy 89 hydrating serum. Since I almost 30 now I understand that with acne products if you use them you need something very hydrating to counteract that. Even with oily skin type and adding in the additional hydrators to help its still not moisturizing enough. I feel like the moisturizer is not a dud but something could be added to really amp this up, there are so many products on the market.

Not the best

Hello, so almost a year ago I had purchased the acne.org regimen and before it had 10% benzoyl peroxide and my face would really dry up. So when I’d apply the moisturizer (as directed on the pan flip provided) my face would get really dark like a tan. So I’d always use a little bit of moisturizer which suck for a while until my face got use to the product, I didn’t really use it. However the rest of the products help with my acne.

Skin turned orangey??

I don't mind this moisteriser, no major issues with it's moisterising, however when my son's skin was getting really dry and peeling, i advised him to put lots of this on throughout the day. I soon noticed that his skin was starting to look kind of orangey. We changed moisterisers and a few days later his skin lost that funny colour. I know they say it doesnt discolour the skin....but its strange that he stopped it and that colour went away.

Pros:

Soothing, light, non-greasy

Cons:

Not moisturizing enough, takes long to dry

The new moisturizer is not moisturizing enough for people with dry, sensitive skin like myself. I use about 6 pumps and still get dry flakes. I imagine it is a perfectly good moisturizer for most people with not so sensitive/dry skin.
