Acne.org : Moisturizer with Licochalcone (OLD)

Not as good as the original. Just when I found a moisturizer that worked wonders (i.e., Dan's original), he changes the formula to some yellow junk that is more expensive, tints skin and clothing, and is more expensive. I think he should give the option to buy the new stuff or the old stuff. I wasted $30 (including shipping) for this new yellow junk. I need to find a new moisturizer...again. Very frustrating!

This is a very good moisturizer. If you have oily skin, I would recommend using it only at night, but otherwise, it is a very good moisturizer that works very well.

This stuff is awesome. Only been using it two days so far, but the results are immediate. I am no longer red, shiny or left with a sticky "tacky" feeling on my face all day like the old moisturizer caused. Love the nice matte finish it leaves, and moisturizes just as well, if not better than the old moisturizer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...WELL WORTH THE PRICE. YOU WILL BE AMAZED!!

The old formula was so much better and it was really unfortunate that I ordered two bottles without being aware the formula changed. The new one smells bad and the texture is really weird. I feel like it doesn't moisturize as well as the old either. I really hope you bring back the old formula because it was the only moisturizer I could use that actually left my skin hydrated without breaking me out. Disappointed that I may have to find a whole new brand to use.

Ugh I beg you please bring the old moisturizer back. this one clogs ur pores so much. It is way too thick, heavy and yet it doesn’t moisturize properly. When you’re using benzoyl peroxide spot treatment you need the extra moisture. This does not offer it. I had to stop buying from here because the new moisturizer makes me break out. The yellow moisturizer was light and made your skin soft and glowy. Please just bring it back. My skin got so bad because this routine no longer works for me like it did - the only thing that changed is the moisturizer. Idk why people complained about the old one just because it was yellow. Now they aren’t happy with this one. I always liked the yellow one. Now I’m struggling to find a replacement and I haven’t shopped from here in ages because it just doesn’t work anymore. Sorry I’ll come back when u change the moisturizer.

Hi Dan, I have been using you ACNE.ORG regimen since 2008. It worked and still working for me except the new formulated moisturizer. I used to love your old moisturizer because it was so nice to use, it actually moisturize my skin and it smelled so refresh. Ever since the moisturizer was re-formulated, no matter how many times I applied or how much drops of jojoba oil that I added, my face will end up very dry and flaky after an hour or so, it also leaves horrible yellow film on skin which makes my face look so wired, people will look at me and goes: why is your face darker than your neck? Your face got sun burnt? What are you wearing on your face? Recently I decided to gave up your moisturizer because the other reason is that I found that it will make my eyes so blur, when it combines with BP, after applied for 6+ hours, my eyes will get blur, stings badly, makes me need to close my eyes. I afraid it will affect my eyes sight. It never happened when I was using the old moisturizer. Also I notice so many people raise up this issue online but no one is paying attention to this problem. So many people are complaining about the new moisturizer, it rated 2.8/5 ' over 364 reviews. It's a bad moisturizer, it's a fact. I can't understand why you can't bring back the old moisturizer? Why can't you just keep both. I'm not asking you to throw away the new one, just bring back the old one, please! Tell us why's you reason. You claim that you wanted to help people with acne then why you are not listening to what we say! I'm so disappointed!

I had high hopes for this moisturizer since I have very dry skin, but I was highly disappointed when my skin went from FAIR to WTF! Within the first week I developed three cystic pimples between my eyebrows, week two I developed 3 more cystic pimples on other areas of my face. Process of elimination, I decided to stop using the moisturizer. I contined to use step 1&2 of the acne.org system, however I have added Clinique toner and Clinique moisturizer. As of right now I do not have any active breakouts, however I was left with huge scars from the cystic acne caused by this moisturizer.

Other reviewers have posted negative reviews stating that this moisturizer dried out their skin. Let me explain this... I switched away from this to a few different CeraVe moisturizers, because I did not like the shine this put on my face. Using CeraVe for the first week was great, until my face had a thick, waxy layer I could not wash off. My face then started producing the same shine with CeraVe, along with a few breakouts. The reason behind this is because I have an oily nose, chin, and forehead (combination skin). CeraVe is great for those with dry or normal skin, but it will over-hydrate oily skin, leading to more breakouts. This moisturizer was formulated to help prevent that. People with oily skin have more of an acne problem than people with dry or normal skin. If you have dry skin, you should definitely try a CeraVe moisturizer. Although, if you have oily skin (which many acne sufferers do), this is your best option at avoiding over-hydrated skin. Simply, this moisturizer hardly moisturizers enough to compensate the moisture loss from the benzoyl peroxide. PS: The licochalcone in this moisturizer is what gives it it's yellow color. This can be very beneficial for people who are still adjusting to the regimen, or in cold climates, as licochalcone is calming to the skin. I like it because it makes my face look tan and healthy, which cancels the whitening effect of the benzoyl peroxide (preventing a pale face). Make sure not to get it on any white fabrics, as it will stain yellow.

I use the BP treatment gel and this moisturizer. Despite the reduction of acne, I still continue to get one or two. Once an area has healed, I will get a break out in a different area of the face. It cannot be the BP treatment gel because its purpose is to help heal acne. And my acne heals with continued use. I tested the moisturizer by itself. After washing my face and dabbing it dry, I applied the moisturizer. No eye creams no sunscreen and no BP. The next day, I got a breakout on my left cheek. And, this is a problem free area.

This is a nice moisturizer that leaves my face really soft and hydrated, its a great formula.
