Lemon Juice as an Astringent
I've had acne for over 22 years and after my giving birth 3 1/2 years ago the prescription med stopped working. I'm trying other alternatives. So today after spending the morning at the park sweating I decided to cleanse my face. For the heck of it, I rubbed a slice of lemon on my face after my cleanser. (I had bought a huge bag of lemons as part of a natural weight loss drink) So it immediately started burning. I didn't leave it on long, not even 5 minutes. But Whoa after I took it off I could immediately tell a difference. Some of my whiteheads came to the surface immediately. I could see white dots. As I begin to extract my face all of the whiteheads (including those that are resistant to the Proactiv mask) all came up to the surface. I followed up the extraction with the rest of the Proactiv + routine, Steps 2 and 3. I haven't tried lemon water yet, but based on the posts I see here. I may start.

Pros:

Cheap, Effective

Cons:

Can taste like #$@%

It works. You have to clean everything up from the inside..that's why it works so well. The taste sucks, but if you hate your zits you'll get over it. I use about 3 tablespoons in an 8 oz. glass of tap water..it works. Do it now. Doesn't have to be fresh lemons, by the way. Buy a bottle of Realemon, or whatever brand of bottled lemon juice is available to you.

Pros:

Tastes great, deeefinitely helped acne

Cons:

Bad for teeth, but this can be avoided with a straw and drinking a bit of milk straight after

Definitely give it a try... and try putting lemon juice right on your face, too! I don't even use my expensive prescriptions anymore :)

Pros:

Easy to use-can use bottled lemon juice or fresh. Smells great! Can apply topically and/or drink. I started drinking it, and within a couple of days acne cleared up.

Cons:

Can cause teeth to erode, may cause some stomach discomfort due to acidity. However, this can be overcome by drinking with a straw :)

TRY IT!!! Why not? It detoxifies your liver and may just be the answer for your acne. It is simple, cheap, and effective.

Pros:

Tastes' great!, balances the pH in the body, cleans liver, makes me happy

Cons:

can wear down the enamel in teeth,

I buy the pre-made bottled organic lemon juice so that i don't have to mess with the lemon skin, pulp or seeds or squeezing. It's cheap Give it a shot! You really have nothing to lose

Pros:

My threading specialist Rikki, suggested I drink lemon water to clear up my acne. I have been using it for two or three weeks now and my face looks great. It really Works!

Cons:

My teeth started to get a little sensitive so I
used more water and less lemon and I got my first pimple the next two days after. Soooo.. Do i want clear skin or bad teeth?

I will return to the original dose (half of the lemon) with 1 cup of water and I will use toothpaste for sensitive teeth. After all, I got my confidence back and I want to keep it.
