Pros:

Simple, cheap, tasty, effective

Cons:

Bad for teeth

I've been using lime juice in hot water rather than lemons but I believe it works in the same way. I was drinking this for two weeks for the general health benefits and not for acne but during that time I found my skin was less oily and somehow smoother. I forgot to drink it for a few days and my skin became more oily and puffy and I couldn't work out what it was until I realised the only thing I'd changed was to not drink the lime water. I'm amazed that such a simple thing can make such a difference! It won't solve your acne completely but it'll make your skin healthier making breakouts less likely.

Pros:

Low cost, tasty, easy to remember to drink it morning and night, easy to make!

Cons:

Can cause a stomach ache if you over do it!

I have been drinking green tea with fresh squeezed lemon juice three times throughout the day; once after breakfast, once in the afternoon and at night. I have seen a good improvement, and its only been a month. I think that lemon juice, if used properly, can work for everyone. I think its VERY important to use this in conjunction with a good diet..one involving LOTS of fresh produce! I can almost promise that if you eat well, exercise, get enough sleep every night, drink LOTS of water and use the lemon juice, your skin will be sooo much more clear!

Cons:

Bad for your teeth

I would just like to add that I've been using this since Friday, and now it's Saturday, and I can already see a difference. I'm only 15, but have had to dealt with acne since I was about 12. For the past few years, I just covered my skin with products and make-up, hoping my acne would go away. Just recently I have really started to try things to get rid of my acne. Everyone at school seems to have beautiful skin, and it really made me feel ugly and embarrassed. I came across lemon juice and figured I'd try it. I have just a plain bottle of pure lemon juice in my fridge, and I poured about 6 teaspoons in a glass of water. The taste made me gag, and throughout the day drank it through a straw.. But also, I drank water constantly, which does nothing but help you even more. Throughout the day, I also put on a honey mask for kicks, but it left my skin kinda blotchy red.. Last night I drank another 3 teaspoons. Viola! This morning I woke up with most of all my acne going down, and only a few were. Bit pink. I havent seen much improvement in my scars, but that doesn't really bother me. I saw a slight difference! I really haven't felt this good in awhile, thanks to the lemon juice! I am going to continue drinking for the next few days and let everyone know.. But as of right now, everything is going smoothly.(:

Pros:

Lightens acne scars
treats acne
smooths skin

Cons:

Dries skin
makes throat sore
doesnt taste very good

Helps clear up skin. It works pretty well. Ive had problem zits since i was 13, and while other products have helped sometimes, this is the only thing that has almost always worked. If i never had discovered this, i dont know where i'd be now.

Pros:

- Cheap
- Effective

Cons:

- Bad for teeth
- May make you feel a little queasy if taken on an empty stomach

I've only been drinking this for about 4 weeks once every day usually after supper and my skin hasn't had a flare-up in the past 10 days. I have been taking it with cold water rather than warm. However, It doesn't seem to do anything for the little zits that are on my forehead - but it keeps the inflamed zits away.

Pros:

Effective, natural, cheap

Cons:

none

I take freshly squeezed lemon juice (about quarter a lemon) with luke warm water twice a day. Once between breakfast and lunch and another before going to bed. I don't take it in an empty stomach, since lemon is too acidic and I feel all the acid could do harm to the stomach and intestine in the long run...like ulcers. Warm water helps the body to quickly absorb the good stuff, instead of first trying to bring the temp of the liquid to body temp. That's how my grandparents and parents having taking it. Also, for those who are worried about their teeth...just use a straw...like I do. Take the straw in the middle of the mouth and just swallow the drink without letting it touch your teeth...Try it...You'll get it :D Enjoy the good skin in 2 weeks. It has become a part of my daily routine for life.

Pros:

Cheap, Easy, No topical side effects (like dryness), Tastes good, added health benefits, Works fast. Good for freshening breath.

Cons:

None So far.

Been using this for a couple months.I drink about 3 tablespoons twice a day(I just buy lemon juice concentrate), sometimes straight sometimes with water, adding as little or as much as I want to dilute the taste of the lemon. Also, sometimes add a tablespoon of honey, which doesn't seem to alter its effectiveness. I started using it for energy and cleaning out the body but I quickly noticed that it was making a difference in my skin. I have been prone to blackheads for a long time, some just sitting there starting at me for what seems like forever, within the first week a couple of bh's that I had for weeks just fell off. Within the first couple weeks my chin was soo smooth. At the point where I am at now, after a couple months or so, nearly all of the deep and stubborn clogs are gone from my skin. Nothing I have used topically has worked this well, this fast, and with so little side effects as this does. I use it in conjunction now with my Mario Badescu skin care regimen and for once I can really see a future without breakouts, which is not something I could have said at any other point in the last ten years of my life.

Pros:

personally, I think it tastes amazing :]
cheap,
easy .

Cons:

bad for teeth i guess.
some people don't like the taste,

i really hope this works, my acne isn't that bad, but I would love to be totally clear. I wash my face with neutrogena, and it doesn't do anything for me, so I just took lemon juice, and used it as a mask , iced my zit down, [ which also works wonders ] and then applied a toothpaste mask. and now I'm drinking the lemon water . I mean, maybe I shouldn't be doing this all at once, but it can't hurt too much .
