Pros:

Vitamin C!
Exfoliates
Tightened pores
Dried up pimples
Banished scaly skin
Evened out scars and dark marks
Gives skin a glow!
Reduces oiliness
Gets rid of black heads

Cons:

None, if it stings too much then add some water or honey

I absolutely love this treatment! I hated the cremes the dermatologist gave me I have sensitive skin and every single prescription I spent a lot of money on and had to stop using them a week after buying them. They would cause redness and make my skin peel, and they hurt like hades! This treatment has changed my skin. I take a VERY thin slice and rub it on my face leave it on for as long as possible and if needed I slightly rinse morning and night. A small lemon can last me a week (using on the body as well) which is so inexpensive! Just like any product though you have to try it out for at least a month before judging it nothing works fully over night although you can feel the difference in cleanliness immediately it still takes time for your skin to detox. Your skin also gets used to the sting so it hurts less after use. I will never put a prescription creme on my face again.

Pros:

Its an over night remedy for pimples you want gone in the morning.

Cons:

It burns for a minute once you place the lemon juice on.
Makes you want to itch your face like crazy during the stinging and burning sensation but its gone after the just 1- 2 minutes and you forget its there.

It works ! It works ! It works ! It's affordable Not putting a bunch of unknown mixed ingredients on your precious face. You know exactly what it is doing the job and know it's completely safe.

Pros:

Does work slowly over time, natural, cheap, easy, quick

Cons:

Does sting a little but this doesn't last long

At night I open up my pores by washing my face with warm water for several minutes and then cleanse and exfoliate. I then use a cotton pad to dab the freshly squeezed lemon juice on my face and leave it on overnight. It stings at first but that stops after a couple of minutes. In the mornings I also do the same thing but instead of the lemon juice I wash my face with some sea salt flakes dissolved in water. Salt water also does wonders for your skin! I have suffered from acne/pimples for 13 years. I have gone on really aggressive oral medications, used over the counter topical treatments, changed my diet, exercised, and tried a bunch of different and expensive skin care routines. Diet and exercise DOES help, as can some of the right products, but nothing has ever really seemed to be a long term solution for me. I stumbled across this review section in a search for home remedies and decided to give it a try. It's only my third day and I've already noticed the difference. My pimples are slowly fading, and even the red marks I'm left with from some nasty pimples seem to be less noticeable. I'm definitely going to continue this and recommend trying it. I'm not sure it will do anything for my scars, but here's hoping. Keep in mind this will be a long term solution not a quick fix. You've got nothing to lose!

Cheapest solution, must try
I have tried everything for my skin. Including labelled skin care products such as clearasil, Neutrogena, Aveeno and even sunblock. I have also tried honey, aloe vera, cinnamon and even cucumber, but NONE of them have worked. The skin Care products have only lead to me breaking out even worse due to them being too strong. I have even tried placing a warm/hot wet towel on my face daily twice a day, but that only dried out my face. Then I tried honey, which only made my face itchy, worked for 4 days, but then went back the same way. I tried cucumber but I broke out again after weeks of trying it. But recently my mum brought me a lemon. And when I first tried it, it did burn. But then after three days my pimples are almost completely gone along withy scars. Would reccomend 100% as I am seeing great results. My face has not been like this before thanks to lemon.

Pros:

Reduces acne and scarring significantly
Evens skin tone
Softer skin
Balances oiliness/dryness
Starts working immediately

Cons:

Stings and itches a little for the first few minutes

Most amazing thing I've ever tried. Been suffering from acne since I was 15 (21 now), and I've tried just about everything you can think of. Few weeks ago I was ready to make a derm appt to get Klaron ($100+) but then I remembered I heard lemon juice was good for acne. I was desperate, so I tried it. I've been using it for 2 weeks now, morning and night, and most of my acne has vanished and the scarring has reduced significantly. Really glad I saved the trip to the dermatologist!

Pros:

Clearing severe acne 80 percent
Significantly reducing redness and fading scars
not messy
cheap
easy to apply

Cons:

nothing except severe itching for about a minute.

It works. My son is 14 with severe acne. He has tried EVERYTHING except accutane. Nothing worked until this simple, cheap, rememdy. He's been using it for about a month and his acne has cleared up about 80 percent. His scars are significantly reduced. He started out leaving it on 10 minutes being cautious that it is an acid and can burn. He has graduated up to putting it on after every shower and leaving it on all the time. Thank you all for your posts. I wouldn't have ever thought of lemons without your posts. He has now added Michaels Hair, skin and nails vitamins which is definitely helping too. We buy organic lemons and he puts the lemon juice full strength on a cotton ball and applies it directly to skin. Always use sunscreen when going outside when using lemon juice on your skin.

Pros:

- Lightens scars
- Acidity can dry up some scabs and popped pimples
- Somewhat soft skin
- Little to no smell
- Low priced

Cons:

- The burning
- Stinging if you have open wounds on your face
- The pulp can be a little annoying to pick out of your hair

I actually heard about the use of lemons from this website. After testing things for myself, I found that the issue with my face was not mainly acne but scars (I tend to pick and pop mindlessly). I used the lemons for two days so far, once in the morning and once at night, and already I see some balance in skin tone and, finally, some scars are lightening! Despite this, I still purchase some acne products. My method is to cut a semi-thick slice of lemon and just rub it on for 5 minutes and (try to) leave it on for 5 more minutes. Then just wash off. You can put the rest of the lemon in a baggie or wrap it up and stick it in the fridge. Things to know: 1.) A lemon is acidic: a pH of 2 to 3. So be careful to not get any of the juice or rub it accidentally over your eye. If you do, rinse with cold water until you feel fine. 2.) This product is going to burn. The pH above just tells you that. So be prepared for burning or stinging in the spots you choose to rub. The intensity ranges from person to person. Overall, it is a nice product to give a try to.

Pros:

Helps with acne!
Smells yummy :)
Helps even out the skin tone
Not a complete miracle but it does help I've noticed.

Cons:

OMG IT STINGS SO FREAKING MUCH (maybe i am just a big baby but it really does sting) also makes me want to itch my face like crazy. But when it dries its no big deal. Those five minutes though sure do hurt though...I just tell myself pain is weakness leaving the body!

Try it! Its REALLY cheap so its not like your losing that much money. It will not not hurt your skin and after a few treatments it does help with left over acne marks. Overall i think its GREAT!

Pros:

Smooth Skin, Very Affordable, Fades Scars Quick!

Cons:

Stings a little but MY GOD is it worth it!!!

I have suffered from SEVERE! acne for the last 9yrs & I have used every single anti-biototic you can imagine including Roaccutane! Roaccuntane worked for a week then I came off it! I had never had a migraine in my life until I took that stuff, I was crying my eyes out in pain! So then i went on to try the Coconut Oil, that didnt work so well for me. So since reading the Lemon Juice Review I thought id give it a try! I use The Body Shop Coconut Oil Soap on my face & neck (which is where I suffer terribly with Acne, my neck is covered in scars!) & after the soap I put Lemon Juice on my face & neck (I use the pure stuff straight out the bottle!) I do this in the morning (leave it on all day & put my make-up on over the top of it) & at night I put it on & leave it on till the next morning. In 5 days my acne is basically gone & my scars are fading fast! I have never known anything like it! This stuff is amazing. Smooth soft skin, no bumps, no acne & fading scars!! TRY IT!!! SERIOUSL
