Pros:

Lemon! Apple cider Vinegar! And egg white! Absolutely, absolutely fantastic combination

Cons:

need to use it every day as a rule....and it wasn't quick results for me....took a month...

But *so* worth the wait! Someone else on this site mentioned this combo of egg, vinegar and lemon and I agree. I'm in a happy stage of having little/no active acne but loads of dark red/brown scars. Because I still use differin at night, I use this mask in the morning,of 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, 1/4 squeezed small lemon and one egg white from a small egg, soaked into a clean muslin cloth. My skin feels a little sensitive after, so I soothe it with a one minute mask of mannuka honey. My scars? After one month...I have for the first time in my life, gone out without makeup!

How did you cure your acne may i ask? :) In my opinion, i would NOT use this. Try aloe vera instead. my red marks completely disappeared with 2 months of aloe use. However, lemon does work. Its just irritating. I used lemons on my scars and it got rid of the marks in 2 weeks, however, instead my skin became sensitive and i got more acne.

hey chloe, did you use natural aloe vera directly from the plant? or a cream from over the counter?

Does not work externally
I am suffering from acne since long time. I have acne on both sides (right and left) upper cheeks. My face skin is very oily. I have tried applying lemon juice on my acne i dilute it in water because applying lemon juice direct on skin can be strong! Whenever i apply it my skin irritates and it itches alot, and my skin literally become RED !! I also applied the lemon juice directly without diluting it in water but it is very very irritating and i have to wash it off immediately. I have also tried applying lemon by mixing it with another things like, honey, tomato, fuller's earth, gram flour etc but never saw any good results. Lemon does not work on my skin at all i've tried it couple of times. But yes for internal use its best! i drink lemon water and lemon with green tea daily and it is good ! :) I would also like to say that if it does not works for me it is not necessary that it will also not work for ur skin too. Everyone has different skin. There are so many people who give positive feedback about applying lemon on their skin and it works for them. So it depends on ur skin. Try it if u see any betterment then it means it works for ur skin and if not, and ur skin irritates means it does not works for u. Best of luck everyone :)

Lemon Juice

Pros:

clears acne
reduces scars

Cons:

stings a bit when put on

This product (in combination with drinking lemon juice) has really helped with my acne. I know that it does not work for everyone but if you are like me (a teenager who had acne that was first very light just on the forehead and then increased in severity over time) then definitely give this a go. I apply the lemon juice straight to the affected areas at night and leave it on over night and i ask drink a cup of water with about a tablespoon of lemon juice in it. If you have sensitive skin maybe dilute the lemon juice you put on your face or do not leave it on for so long. Hope this helped

Helps with inflammation but do not use every day

Pros:

helps inflammation
can help fade dark spots

Cons:

stings but you get used to it
not for everyday use
makes skin sensitive to sunlight so only use at night

If used only a couple of times a week, it can help with inflammation and skin tone. But I used to use it every day and eventually it aggravated my acne, so now I only use it when I have infected acne or lots of hyperpigmentation. Make sure you buy the 100% lemon juice type, and dilute it with water if it's too strong for you.

Pros:

Smells nice
Easy
Cheap

Cons:

Stings a little
Sticky on face

I've only been usuing lemon juice for 2 days and there has been an improvment on my face, th spots arent as red. and my skin is smooth.. i have sensitive skin and it hasnt irratated it yet, (not saying it wont for anyone else with sensitive skin).. I leave it on over night & all fay if i am not going out and re-apply throughout the day.. it smells good and does work, I reccomend people to give it a go! Although dont put it on open popped spots as that would probably sting unbelivably .. and if you become irritated wash off immediately, could make skin worse.. or mix with some sugar to create a sugar scrub exfoliator, natural remedys are the best!

Pros:

Excellent for exfoliating.
Skin looks radiant afterwards!
Smells nice.
Reduces skin inflammation and reduces appearance of post-acne marks.

Cons:

Didn't heal my existing acne or prevent breakouts.
Burns your fingers a little bit.

I enjoyed using lemon juice because it's natural and it smells great, and I noticed my skin seemed softer and less irritated. It didn't get rid of my pimples, but the skin around the pimples looked radiant! lol I say give it a try and see what happens. Just squeeze juice from half a lemon, and dilute it with a tiny bit of water. Dip a cotton ball or pad into is and gently wipe your skin. I had to rinse it off my hands because it was stinging, but surprisingly it didn't sting or burn my face or shoulders (I have extremely sensitive skin, so I was worried about it burning).

Pros:

when diluted makes a good tonic for the skin to keep bacteria at bay

Cons:

messy
needs to be used fresh

I posted one review of this one already, where I describe my usage of it for prevention of reinfection of squeezed out zits. It works like magic for that and I use it only on the zit in its undiluted form. However, if you want to use it for your entire face I suggest you dilute it with water! It's way to harsh for your skin if it's pure! The reason it works is that acne bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) don't like acidic pH. So when I don't have lemon, I use vinegar (diluted!).

Pros:

Clears Acne
Eliminates Redness
Lightens Scars

Cons:

Stings a little bit when applied

I am 27 and had light to moderate acne in my teen years, it cleared out easily with the use of over the counter products. I started taking BC recently (for medical reasons) and developed cystic very painful hormonal acne, i tried everything and nothing worked until i read this posts about applying lemon and decided to try out. It eliminated redness and dried out breakouts almost instantly, it even helped with the cysts and it also even out my skin complexion. I am really happy I tried this right away, I use diluted lemon every morning and night, apply with a cotton pad and leave on for 5-10min, then rinse thoroughly with cold water and apply face moisturizer.

Pros:

-Works as a great toner
-Smells really nice
-Makes skin soft and tight
-Reducess redness
-Hasn't dried out my skin yet (and I have pretty sensitive skin)

Cons:

-Helped only a little with my acne
-Stings a tiny bit but probabaly a whole lot more if you don't dilute it with water

I've been using it for two days now, so I haven't gotten "full" results yet but I just had to review this because it is so wonderful! I used it one night when my face was really oily and red and when I woke up, my skin was so soft and my complexion was really even. It did wonders on helping fade my scars and other spots and it has only been a couple of days. As for the acne, it has helped a little...but not a whole lot. I guess I can't say much about it but I really do recommend it if your face is red and oily. What I did was take half a lemon and squeezed out all of the juice and put the juice in a small container. I keep it in the fridge to keep it fresh, because with this, I'm not wasting all of my lemons. In the morning - I wash my face with a normal cleanser and then I take a cotton ball and dip it into the juice and apply it all over my face. I then wait about 15 minutes and let it absorb into my skin before rinsing it out. I then apply my moistuizer and go on with my day. At night - I wash my face with a normal cleanser and then take a cotton pad and dip it into the juice. I take my time applying it and really apply it to my affected areas. I leave it in for the night. Note - I DID dilute my lemon juice with water which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND regarless or not you have sensitive skin. Lemon = Awesome!
