Works - but be careful.
Hi! I have hyper pigmentation and acne scars. My skin type is dry. First time I tried this: I applied lemon slice's juice onto my scars on my forehead and left it on for about 10 minutes, then washed it off. I did it for a full week, once a day. It cleared my scars significantly, but it caused small white bumps all over my forehead, which went away after a couple of days. Because of that, I didn't really try it again for another couple of months. Second time trying this: I apply the juice to my scars, and leave it for 10 minutes. I only do this once to twice a week to avoid any sensitive reactions with my skin. I wash it away with soap and water. This method has really helped boost the look of my scars and allow it to fade out quicker. I suggest to squeeze lemon juice onto a small plate and then apply with cotton swab in your specific scar areas, because if you apply it on skin without imperfections, it can possibly cause an unwanted reaction. Do this technique at night. Good luck! :)

Pros:

Great Complexion
Skin is glowing
Dries out your skin in a good way
fades Scars
and shrinks pimples/dries them out
and makes you feel more confident!

Cons:

It stings at first, then it goes away.

I never thought something so simple and natural could actually work. I have been battling with acne since i can remember and tried BP for a while and clindamycin and it worked wonders for about year then stopped working. I was put on tetracycline and it did nothing for me. Just when i thought nothing could work I decided to cut a lemon up and rub it directly onto my face. I started noticing results THE DAY AFTER i was getting compliments on my skin also. I LOVE LEMONS!!! I recommend applying lemon directly onto your face for best results. TRY THIS YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!

Pros:

Works wonderfully as an astringent
Great at "eating up" facial oil (for those with oily skin)

Cons:

Stings a bit

Please only use this when you are not using retinoids or all these other acne topicals, like Finacea, Avage, Epiduo, Cleocin T, Benzaclin, Benzomycin, anything with Benzoyl Peroxide as a matter of fact...actually, anything based in alcohol. Your skin may be reactive to these chemicals mixing with those of the lemon and it may cause an allergic reaction, which will probably cause more acne bumps (cysts, nodules, papules, postules etc). Try letting your face rest from all these harsh chemicals for 2 or 3 days and then try rubbing lemon juice on your face. This stuff is WONDERFULLY as an astringent. It stings a bit but it cleans out those pores and leaves one's face dry, which is great for those with oily skin. If you have naturally dry skin (or chemically dry skin aka skin which is stripped of essential oils due to acne topicals), I would not recommend you use this. My acne was once severe but now I have no acne at all.

Pros:

Its an over night remedy for pimples you want gone in the morning.

Cons:

It burns for a minute once you place the lemon juice on.
Makes you want to itch your face like crazy during the stinging and burning sensation but its gone after the just 1- 2 minutes and you forget its there.

It works ! It works ! It works ! It's affordable Not putting a bunch of unknown mixed ingredients on your precious face. You know exactly what it is doing the job and know it's completely safe.

Pros:

- Lightens scars
- Acidity can dry up some scabs and popped pimples
- Somewhat soft skin
- Little to no smell
- Low priced

Cons:

- The burning
- Stinging if you have open wounds on your face
- The pulp can be a little annoying to pick out of your hair

I actually heard about the use of lemons from this website. After testing things for myself, I found that the issue with my face was not mainly acne but scars (I tend to pick and pop mindlessly). I used the lemons for two days so far, once in the morning and once at night, and already I see some balance in skin tone and, finally, some scars are lightening! Despite this, I still purchase some acne products. My method is to cut a semi-thick slice of lemon and just rub it on for 5 minutes and (try to) leave it on for 5 more minutes. Then just wash off. You can put the rest of the lemon in a baggie or wrap it up and stick it in the fridge. Things to know: 1.) A lemon is acidic: a pH of 2 to 3. So be careful to not get any of the juice or rub it accidentally over your eye. If you do, rinse with cold water until you feel fine. 2.) This product is going to burn. The pH above just tells you that. So be prepared for burning or stinging in the spots you choose to rub. The intensity ranges from person to person. Overall, it is a nice product to give a try to.

Pros:

Helps with acne!
Smells yummy :)
Helps even out the skin tone
Not a complete miracle but it does help I've noticed.

Cons:

OMG IT STINGS SO FREAKING MUCH (maybe i am just a big baby but it really does sting) also makes me want to itch my face like crazy. But when it dries its no big deal. Those five minutes though sure do hurt though...I just tell myself pain is weakness leaving the body!

Try it! Its REALLY cheap so its not like your losing that much money. It will not not hurt your skin and after a few treatments it does help with left over acne marks. Overall i think its GREAT!

Pros:

*COMPLETELY CLEARED ALL BLACKHEADS WITH FIRST USE!!!!
*Tasted and smelled good
*Cheap

Cons:

*Burns a bit, but who cares

I first used the lemon juice last night before i went to bed. When I woke up, all my blackheads were gone. It didn't do much for whiteheads/pimples, but I've only used it once so far. I'll post a follow up in a week or so. If you have stubborn blackheads, USE LEMONS.

Pros:

- face is brighter and glowing
- bumps and zits have subsided
- very visible improvement (except for during that time of the month)
- dries out zits in a flash

Cons:

- stings like HELL
- may be too drying for dry/sensitive skins (skin feels tight)
- if applied on sensitive skin it turns red, bumpy and angry.

I've had troubled/sensitive skin for the past 3-4 months, when it used to be pretty good and glowing. I'm not sure why my skin turned bad all of a sudden, but one month ago I read about lemon juice being applied topically on troubled skin, so why not....since it's cheap. Everynight after cleansing I cut out a fresh lemon and apply the juice directly on to my face (and then it hurts like HELL for 2 minutes, but hey, the price of beauty!) and I juice the rest of the lemon and drink it with water(it is a detoxifier). I leave it on for about one hour and wash off, then I put on my toner and moisturizer. After 1 week of this treatment there was visible improvement, and now I'm on my 3rd week and my skin is ALMOST back to its previous good condition! I'm wayyyy pleased with the results and my family and boyfriend have noticed and commented on my improved skin condition. I still get very small zits that erupt on my chin area, but they dry up in a jiffy, could be because my skin is still purging toxins and excess sebum out. For an extra boost, exfoliate, cleanse, apply lemon juice, clay/mud mask over it, then wash off and complete your toner+moisturizer routine.
