Pros:

Its working!

Cons:

mild sting ( it comes in contact with open skin/sensitive areas) - if stinging occurs dabbing a wet cloth over the area fixed the problem

May have adverse effects if you have severely sensitive skin

I think its safe to say if you find you have a lemon in the refrigerator- curiosity will get the best of you... and you should let it. I found this blog yesterday night and tried it.... I am so pleased I had to come back and share. I had a few dark spots from past break outs and some light acne that I had already popped and still looked red... My skin is also a bit sensitive and my break outs are a result of the winter months my skin isnt oily enough and face lotions lead to break outs.. summer too much oil. I used an olive oil face wash then applied organic lemon juice/lemon oil rather than cutting up a lemon- Im assuming this lessened the potency and may have been a good thing. My skin is sensitive and i was worried about the acidic nature over drying my skin... Wasn't the case at all. My skin felt balanced- not too dry or oily. And im usually one or the other. This morning I woke up to find my red marks had dulled significantly. I applied the lemon juice again after washing my face- a few hours later im on here leaving this message. its working dramatically fast. my spots look 10x better after two applications. As well as any acne that was starting to surface- my pores look shrunken and bumps are smoothing. If a little lemon juice is the answer to acne- I am going to be ecstatic!

I read online that lemon juice helps clear acne so that night i went into my fridge and used one. This is awesome for your skin! It costs like 50 cents compred to $100 acne systems that dont work, it has absoultely no chemicals that are harsh to your skin, and my skin was so soft after i tryed it. I always tell my friends who have to pay for their own acne treatments to try this first because all the stuff i have wasted my money on at the market on brands like clean and clear and neutrogina for my acne never worked. I can't think of one thing that i didnt like about this other then the fact that if you get lemon juice in your eyes it hurts, but who cares! Try this you have nothing to lose and i bet there is a lemon in your fridge right now!

Pros:

drys up pimples over night and makes them visibly smaller..tightens skin.. and gives a nice glow..

Cons:

Just a little stinging at first...But you'll get over it.. I guess it depends on the person or the severity of your acne..

I am 25 and never suffered from acne until I hit 21.. My problem area was my cheeks. For years I tried everything, I even went to a dermatologist and they prescribed me topical medication and pills. It did no good for me.. I started to do some research on natural home remedies for acne and every website i went through mentioned lemon..I looked at the cons and the only one that was mentioned was going out in the sunlight with the lemon juice on your face would give your skin some discoloration..But thats common sense.. so I gave it a try..Within 2 days the redness disappeared and my pimples shrunk in size.GREAT IMPROVEMENT...What you do is Get a fresh lemon and squeeze some juice on a cottonball..Rub it all over your face...Leave it on for no more than 10 mins...WASH IT OFF.. thats it... do this every night..Guaranteed improvement... Good Luck

Best Natural Treatment + Lightener Ever!
I am always willing to try new natural products when it comes to my skin. Not only is it safer but I feel that it produces better results. As for lemon juice, it is my personal savior. Not only do I apply it on my skin, but I drink a cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice daily. You might think lemon is acidic, and it is - outside of the body. But, when you ingest it, it turns into alkaline which is extremely good for your body and helps fight diseases and illnesses like acne. Lemon juice WORKS because it is a disinfectant and destroys any acne bacteria that contributes to developing acne. It also removes dead skin cells because it is highly acidic and therefore exfoliates the skin. Eventually skin will be smoother and scars will start to diminish and fade. However, even though Lemon Juice is a great acne treatment it should be used with caution! Always dilute it, as it's pure form can have a harsh effect on the skin. Since it is so acidic, it can open the pimple right up and result in bleeding and can sting quite badly. Diluting it half and half with either apple cider vinegar, witch hazel or tea tree oil, can help alleviate the sting and any other symptoms that it may bring. I mix mine with witch hazel and use it as soon as i get up in the morning and before I go to bed. I apply it on just my acne-prone areas (My t-zone) and leave it on. I let it dry for about 5 minutes and I then apply tea tree oil and let dry as well. After all is said and done, I apply Organic virgin coconut oil as a moisturizer. Also be sure to drink a cup of fresh lemon juice daily squeezed from one lemon. It is a great detox drink and does wonders for the body.

Pros:

Fades my hyper pigmentation almost completely in 3 uses normally
Cheap remedy
Makes skin brighter and lighter
Doesn't matter if you get it in your mouth
Nor as aggravating as most scar creams

Cons:

Wasn't a miracle for my active acne, but I suppose it helped a bit
Fades freckles (I like my freckles ok?)
Must use at night as it increases your sensitivity to the sun
Didn't work on my mum's age spots, but she wore it out in the blazing sunshine
Broke me out when left on all night as it formed a film over my skin, best to wash it off after an hour or two

I use this whenever I've had a particularly bad breakout that's left some marks. It works rapidly on me. It's best at getting rid of those lingering red or brown dots but it did help significantly with some scar tissue near my eyebrows (it's gone completely now with lemon juice and time). Just try not to use it too frequently, only put it on at night and wear sunscreen the day afterwards. I've been using this method for over a year now and it still works.

Pros:

Whitening skin
smaller pores
gives glow

Cons:

stings a bit

I'm 23 years old girl, I'm asian and have white skin I've started retin-a about 9 months ago, and after 6 months, i cleared up my dace. But the thing with retin-a is it does not give my face the glow that i really want. so i decided to try lemon juice. Here's my routine, after shower, i usually put aloe vera gel ( fresh from plants) and let it dry, and then i put the mixture of lemon juice with aloe vera gel (again just a little bit) as a toner. Lately i've been drinking lemon juice in the morning Lemon juice overall gives whitening effext to my skin, and my skin has this nice glow. I eally like lemon juice, because it's natural and cheap, and has the same effect as whitening cosmetics, if not more effective. I recomend try using lemon juice, topically and as a drink, (drinking it will gave you glow and stamina boost), there's no harm in trying anyway

Pros:

fades acne scars
leaves skin feeling smooth
eliminates red marks
evens out skin tone
cheap
easy to apply
natural

Cons:

light stinging sometimes when applied to face - only lasts a couple seconds though!

I have quite faint acne scarring and after only using the lemon juice a few times - I have noticed awesome results! Ie wash my face with warm water and the natural soap from Carely's Clear and Smooth, ( the BEST skin care products! ) to get any dirt or make up off and then pat to dry with a clean face towel. Then I squeeze some lemon juice on to a little cotton round and slowly rub across my face in little circles ( mainly just on the areas where the light scarring is ) Be careful using lemon juice however - you dont want to rub in the same spot for to long because since lemon juice is acidic it can burn your skin! I then rinse with lukewarm water - pat to dry - and put on moisturizer. ( make sure to put on sunscreen if you are going outside! ) :D I totally recommend this product!

Pros:

Lightens reddness
Brightens complextion
Smells amazing
Tastes good if it gets in your mouth
Reduces appearance of scars

Cons:

Not as effective for those with sensitive skin

I had a pimple that resisted EVERY treatment known to man. It stayed on my face right between my eyes for a good 2 weeks, every morning it looked just as red as the day before. It wasn't extremely huge, but still very annoying. The skin around it was slightly wrinkly so it was difficult to conceal with makeup. Out of desperation I applied a drop of lemon juice. It was 100% pure lemon juice from the little bottles in the grocery store. I kid you not, 15 minutes later the red turned pink. I applied it once a day for the next 2 days- it's GONE. Lemon juice is amazing. I use it as a toner everyday after my skincare routine. Be sure to moiisturize as well. Good luck <3

Pros:

Clears up skin.

Cons:

Just stinks. Did not work for body acne.

I read a few reviews and I tried lemon juice. I created my profile on acne.org only to put a review for lemon juice. I did the following, 1) Washed my face in the night with a very mild cleanser. 2) Applied the lemon juice after 5-10 min. 3) Went to bed :) After a few weeks my face is all cleared up. For my back acne I did the following: 1) Changed to a very mild soap. 2) Reduced my shower time. 3) Stopped touching my back with sofa or chair and started sleeping on my side rather than on my back. Exercise regularly and stress free mind is also required besides this. But sadly it didnt work for my chest acne.
