BEST product I've ever used on my face
I never write reviews for skin products (which is funny because I've used so many) but this one is special. I've struggled with pretty bad acne since I was 16, and I am currently 22. It all seemed to start suddenly one day, cystic acne and regular acne all over my face. It was horrible. I began my search for anything that would cure my acne, starting with proactiv, which made my skin a MILLION times worse. I've tried Cleab and Clear, Neutrogena, Aveeno, Proactiv, Clinique, Simple, and even Burts Bees face wash, Melaleuca, Witch Hazel, and even got a skin medication from a dermatologist (clindamycin for the skin) but nothing seemed to help. Some made it worse, others only kept the acne at bay for a short time, but it always came back in force. Then I found this product. I have SUPER sensitive skin, anything that foams up or has anything to fight acne severely dries out my skin, which causes me to break out more. This product, on the other hand, does not do that. It was strange at first because it didn't foam up at all, but I had used cream cleansers before so it wasn't too shocking. I didn't even think much of the product at first, I only used it because someone gave it to me and I was out of my last product. Then I started noticing the change. My skin became clearer very quickly, and smoother. My scars somehow went away, and I have had zero breakouts, other than one pimple due to hormones, but it went away within three days. The product feels sort of like conditioner when applying it, but I personally find it leaves my face feeling very fresh and clean when I rinse it off. But my skin has never been so clear! I don't even need to wear coverup, or any foundation anymore. NONE!! Which I think is also helping my skin, as facial makeup can clogs pores. It's amazing and I've been recommending this product to all my friends. My mother in law also loves the product, she says it helps with her Rosacea. The product is scentless as well, which I actually really like. I don't know if this is the magic product for everyone, but for me it was what I've been looking for, for years. And as long as it keeps working, I will not buy anything else. For my combination skin (gets dry but it tends to get very oily as well, not sure how but it does) it's perfect. Having clear skin is a huge confidence booster, and foundation/powder gets expensive!! But I will stop rambling now. I hope this product works as well for you as it had for me.

Great Facial Wash!!!
I have been suffering with menopausal acne for over a year now. I've tried many acne products, but they did not work. While surfing the internet one day, I stumbled across an acne treatment called "Pan Oxyl". It had great reviews, so I decided to give it a try. After using it for about 2 weeks, I thought that this product was the it- I finally found a product that was giving me some relief from the pain, outbreaks, and discomfort. Well, To my dismay, my bubble was burst when about a month later, I noticed that my skin had gotten severely dry- scaly dry! It was really weird how the dryness seem to have appeared suddenly. So, of course, I began to panic and immediately started researching help for extremely dry skin. Fortunately, I came across "Cerave Hydrating a Cleanser". Well people, I've been using Cerave for a month and it eliminated the dryness within 3-4 days, cleared the acne in about 14 days, and have not had any new breakouts since I've used the product. I am 50 yrs. old and have had slight acne since I was a teen, but when I became menopausal, it got ridiculous. I was getting 1 or 2 every 2 weeks around my chin area - as soon as the 1 or 2 pimples would leave another one or two would appear. Sofar I am free of the pimples and pain, but now I have to find help with the scars that were left behind; however, I'm going to wait a while to see if Cerave will help eventually fade the scars.

Pros:

really balances out skin tone!!! beings that i have red hair and really sensitive skin! but it makes it non red and suuuper soft! and doesnt make my skin oily at all!! it also doesn't lather or foam up, which i heard is bad if you have acne anyways! and this is sooo gentle!!

Cons:

kind of has a strange consistency... feels a little like lotion, but whatever i dont care!! as long as it works, which it does!! :-)

i would deffinatly reccomend this to anyone, really!! even my mom uses it! my face has taken a POUNDING over the years of sooo many harsh acne products! i've used oxy, neutrogena, proactive, clean & clear, noxzema, cetaphil, alba, olay, EVERYTHING!! you name it, i've tried it!! i tried cetaphil, which is supposed to be really gentle, but this even dried out my skin and made me break out! then i switched to alba pineapple enzyme facial cleanser, and at first it worked like a charm! but then it started drying my face out like CRAZY!! because the fruit enzymes in it are a form of AHA which can dry your skin out!! i remember several years ago my dermatologist gave me a big bag of samples in them, CeraVe being one of them, and i tried them ALL! but for some reason not CeraVe.... idk why! but yesterday i decided to give it a try, and it was probably one of the best things i've tried on my face, besides dans BP, which i use along with complex 15 moisturizer! it is sooooo gentle and after i wash my face, my skin tone is evenly balanced! i woke up this morning not really knowing what to expect, and amazingly enough the couple of zits that i did have went down and the redness was gone!!! i am so pleased!! this product is a staple in my regiman and i know after a while it will help restore my skin!! so i highly reccomend this product!! :-D

Pros:

-great for sensitive (fair/mild rosacea) skin
-does not strip skin
-doesn't turn my face red
-no smell
-makes my skin very soft

Cons:

-feels like washing face with lotion... I would give five (...pimples? what are those things?) stars if it weren't for the odd consistency

I bought this because I was fed up with things irritating my skin... I tried to go "natural" and organic or whatever (I used desert essence with added jojoba oil), but it dried my face out, turned it red, and did nothing for my acne. I also tried "natural" lotions, but they also did not moisturize, contributed to my breakouts, and turned my face red. I finally threw everything out and started over with this cleanser and the cerave lotion, and some dickenson's witch hazel toner. ...and my face hasn't looked this good in months. i'm now convinced acne is 85% hormones, and 15% irritation. my face is fair with mild rosacea, and I have moderate acne that flairs up when my hormones are out of wack. this cleanser is so mild that it does not hurt my skin. it does feel like washing your face with lotion, but you get used to it. my face feels so soft afterward. people keep saying it does not take off make-up but... has anyone ever heard of a wash cloth? it works just fine. i wash once, and then gently rub some more on my face with a cloth. overall... I definitely recommend it to anyone with really sensitive skin like mine. It didn't break me out, and everything breaks me out. (I cannot speak for everyone, however.) your skin will feel so soft and supple... and hopefully pimple-free like mine :)

Amazing product!!!

Pros:

Works as quick as 2 days
Doesn't sting
Non-comedogenic (non pimple producing)

Cons:

Slimy texture & not foamy
A little pricey

This is the best I've used so far and I've used Cetaphil, Nuetrogena, ProActive, and so many others for my acne-prone skin!!! None of it worked.. Finally I've found a product that works. I saw a difference in my skin within 2 days:)

Pros:

mild, unscented, gentle, easy to find, inexpensive, clears up acne, doesn't dry out skin

Cons:

giant bottle

First off, let me explain my skin. I have dry, acne prone skin thanks to my sluggish thyroid. So, I need a cleanser that gets rid of surface oils and dirt while not sapping my skin of moisture. *I'm using this product in conjunction with the CeraVe moisturizing lotion. This cleanser did the trick! After a few weeks of use, my skin tone evened out noticeably. I no longer have patches of dry, flaky skin. My skin is much softer and it's gotten back its youthful glow. I still get the occasional pimple, but it's usually only a single zit that goes away quickly. Most of the time I am break-out free, which is marvelous. Some people might be bothered that this cleanser does not foam up at all. It actually has the consistency of a gross between a lotion and a gel, and at first it doesn't really feel like it's getting your skin clean. However, once you get used to the consistency, you start to notice how great your skin feels after you use it! The biggest set-back to this product would be the price/size ratio. It's approximately $13.50 (American) for 12 fl. oz. of this product. I wish that it came in a smaller, more travel friendly size in addition to the large 12oz. bottle. Other than that, if you have dry/sensitive skin and acne, give this a try!

Absolutely In Love!
I absolutely love this cleanser!!! I bought it when I ran out of the Acne.org cleanser. What I didn't know was that I was going to keep using it totally replacing that cleanser. It leaves my face extremely clean without over drying, I love the thick consistency, and how gentle it is on my skin. I've also noticed how clear my skin has been using this cleanser in combination with my Acne.org benzoyl peroxide and AHA moisturizer. I have oily/combination skin which leans more on the oily side, and I'm not having any of the breakout issues as the previous reviewers. Overall, my skin has totally cleared up!!!! This cleanser is a staple in regimen for sure!!!

Great Gentle Cleanser.
I have combination/oily skin with dry patches on my cheeks. I like using this in the morning to cleanse my skin because it effectively removes all the built up oil from sleeping while keeping my skin hydrated looking. It does have a lotion feel to it which turns a lot of people off, but you get used to it after a few days.

Pros:

This cleanser is really creamy. I actually like it on my oily skin. It leaves my skin clean, but does not overdry it like other cleansers do. Never thought i would use a creamy cleanser on my oily skin but its really nice.

Cons:

Wish they made it in a smaller container for traveling, but whatever.

This stuff is really nice and creamy, give it a try!

Pros:

-Gentle on sensitive skin. -Hydrates skin extremely well! -Leaves skin soft and fresh looking. -Fights acne and dry skin.

Cons:

None!

This product is amazIng! I've tried everything out there (Cetaphil, Clean and Clear, Oxy, Neutrgena, Etc) and absolutely nothing even compared! This product was introduced to me by my dermatologist and I cant thank him enough! While on accutane, I did not experience dry skin AT ALL, thanks to this product. Also check out the CerVe moisturizer, as these two products work wonders together. Give it a try, you won't regret it!
