Pros:

Non Drying, removes makeup, No odor

Cons:

None yet

I use this cleanser in conjunction with the PM lotion and Retin A .025%. I tried Cetaphil, Nutragena Extra Gentle, and Purpose cleansers as I needed something gentle with the Retin A, this is by far my favorite!! Has really reduced the irritation from the Retin A. I use the Am lotion with SPF 30 in the morning after cleansing again. I even had my husband try these because of his rosacea & dermatitis. After 1 night his skin looks better. Not perfect, but improved, I think with continued use this could really help him as well. We love it!!

Pros:

-great for sensitive (fair/mild rosacea) skin
-does not strip skin
-doesn't turn my face red
-no smell
-makes my skin very soft

Cons:

-feels like washing face with lotion... I would give five (...pimples? what are those things?) stars if it weren't for the odd consistency

I bought this because I was fed up with things irritating my skin... I tried to go "natural" and organic or whatever (I used desert essence with added jojoba oil), but it dried my face out, turned it red, and did nothing for my acne. I also tried "natural" lotions, but they also did not moisturize, contributed to my breakouts, and turned my face red. I finally threw everything out and started over with this cleanser and the cerave lotion, and some dickenson's witch hazel toner. ...and my face hasn't looked this good in months. i'm now convinced acne is 85% hormones, and 15% irritation. my face is fair with mild rosacea, and I have moderate acne that flairs up when my hormones are out of wack. this cleanser is so mild that it does not hurt my skin. it does feel like washing your face with lotion, but you get used to it. my face feels so soft afterward. people keep saying it does not take off make-up but... has anyone ever heard of a wash cloth? it works just fine. i wash once, and then gently rub some more on my face with a cloth. overall... I definitely recommend it to anyone with really sensitive skin like mine. It didn't break me out, and everything breaks me out. (I cannot speak for everyone, however.) your skin will feel so soft and supple... and hopefully pimple-free like mine :)

Pros:

-Not drying
-Doesn't break me out.
-No fragrance/color

Cons:

-Doesn't remove makeup completely.
-A bit expensive but not prohibitively so.

I have to use jojoba oil beforehand if I'm wearing makeup. Kind of annoying to add another step in but I do it because it's neccessary. This is why I give it 4 "stars" instead of 5. I was having a major problem with flakes so I changed up my DKRegimen. I wash with this now, Paula's Choice 1% BHA Lotion, Dan's BP, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion. My flakes are gone! I started out using one pump but noticed that two pumps are more effective. The cleanser doesn't foam up but that's fine with me. It kind of feels like a watery lotion but doesn't leave a residue. I picked "moderate" acne because that's what I have when not on the DKRegimen. I only get 1 or two spots around that time of month now.

Pros:

Makes my skin soft and touchable
Evened skin tone
Just feels nice to use on my face

Cons:

A bit runny, but doesn't bother me.
Doesn't remove eye makeup, but I didnt expect it to..
Doesn't necessarily "treat" acne, but the point is to repair skin, not kill it with chemicals. Which in return, helped my acne anyways. :)

Best cleanser ever. Ok. For me anyways. It totally transformed my skin. My skin tone is now even, and my face is soooo soft! It feels like you are washing your face with lotion almost, but the results are worth it. Excellent especially if you use any harsh treatments. Absolutley no irritation. I cant say how happy I am that I switched to this from my old cleanser. Cuts down on oil too. Give it a few weeks before you give up. Perfect. :)

Pros:

mild, unscented, gentle, easy to find, inexpensive, clears up acne, doesn't dry out skin

Cons:

giant bottle

First off, let me explain my skin. I have dry, acne prone skin thanks to my sluggish thyroid. So, I need a cleanser that gets rid of surface oils and dirt while not sapping my skin of moisture. *I'm using this product in conjunction with the CeraVe moisturizing lotion. This cleanser did the trick! After a few weeks of use, my skin tone evened out noticeably. I no longer have patches of dry, flaky skin. My skin is much softer and it's gotten back its youthful glow. I still get the occasional pimple, but it's usually only a single zit that goes away quickly. Most of the time I am break-out free, which is marvelous. Some people might be bothered that this cleanser does not foam up at all. It actually has the consistency of a gross between a lotion and a gel, and at first it doesn't really feel like it's getting your skin clean. However, once you get used to the consistency, you start to notice how great your skin feels after you use it! The biggest set-back to this product would be the price/size ratio. It's approximately $13.50 (American) for 12 fl. oz. of this product. I wish that it came in a smaller, more travel friendly size in addition to the large 12oz. bottle. Other than that, if you have dry/sensitive skin and acne, give this a try!

Pros:

really balances out skin tone!!! beings that i have red hair and really sensitive skin! but it makes it non red and suuuper soft! and doesnt make my skin oily at all!! it also doesn't lather or foam up, which i heard is bad if you have acne anyways! and this is sooo gentle!!

Cons:

kind of has a strange consistency... feels a little like lotion, but whatever i dont care!! as long as it works, which it does!! :-)

i would deffinatly reccomend this to anyone, really!! even my mom uses it! my face has taken a POUNDING over the years of sooo many harsh acne products! i've used oxy, neutrogena, proactive, clean & clear, noxzema, cetaphil, alba, olay, EVERYTHING!! you name it, i've tried it!! i tried cetaphil, which is supposed to be really gentle, but this even dried out my skin and made me break out! then i switched to alba pineapple enzyme facial cleanser, and at first it worked like a charm! but then it started drying my face out like CRAZY!! because the fruit enzymes in it are a form of AHA which can dry your skin out!! i remember several years ago my dermatologist gave me a big bag of samples in them, CeraVe being one of them, and i tried them ALL! but for some reason not CeraVe.... idk why! but yesterday i decided to give it a try, and it was probably one of the best things i've tried on my face, besides dans BP, which i use along with complex 15 moisturizer! it is sooooo gentle and after i wash my face, my skin tone is evenly balanced! i woke up this morning not really knowing what to expect, and amazingly enough the couple of zits that i did have went down and the redness was gone!!! i am so pleased!! this product is a staple in my regiman and i know after a while it will help restore my skin!! so i highly reccomend this product!! :-D

Pros:

great for the BODY ACNE! SUPER GENTLE...

Cons:

expensive, and not enough to use on body for long term

I wana start off by saying, I don't usually write reviews on here because a lot of what i'v tried on here that has good reviews has never worked well for me. So my review should strictly be considered my own personal condition and it doesn't/shouldn't exactly apply to everyone. Anyways, I'm super excited about this product... At first i bought it for my face to see if it would help with oiliness, (i read somewhere it did)... it didn't really help that much, so then i just stuck the bottle in a cabinet below my sink. It sat there for probably 4 months, and then a few days ago i saw it in there, and had the crazy idea to try it on my body to see how it worked for the acne that has caused me so much suffering (on my chest and back) ... the first time i tried it, i noticed when i got out of the shower, my acne was less irritated, and my body looked clear despite the little red spots (which is the acne i currently have on my body) Usually when i got out of the shower, my skin is somewhat red, and the old, new, and forming acne marks were all visible. It's a little hard to explain the difference, but its been my 2nd day of use and its working just fine. I mean it hasn't been long enough to say if this is for sure the cure for my acne, because it's not exactly getting rid of the ones i currently have, but I am noticing a dramatic improvement in complexion as far as my back and chest skin goes. maybe i have rosacea on my body? I really don't know what it is, but i'm not using anything else on my body after i wash with cerave... and it appear to be clearer than it ever has in the past 7 years or so since my body acne started... so its definitely cerave... I use at like like 5-7 pumps for my entire upper body. So its going to run out fast, and that's only if i see it continues to work...

Pros:

hydrating, gentle, does not strip, fairly cheap, a little goes a long way, easy to purchase

Cons:

none

It was suggested to me by my dermatologist when I was prescribed some very drying topical creams. I used the sample and tried about 5 different other face washed ranging from 10 to 60 dollars and nothing worked as well as Cerave! I'm hooked and love how it truly doesn't over dry.

Pros:

it feels very very soft on your skin and whats great about it is that it doesnt over dry your face like other cleanser

Cons:

kinda expensive

my dermatologist suggested me that if you are breaking out shouldnt use a cleanser with a lot of foam so she recommend me this and it works well with my face even though my face is little bit oily when using Cerave products
