Pros:

*Cheap
*Effective

Cons:

*For some people, the taste

I have been drinking green tea for about a month, and have seen great results... I drink this 2-5 times each day (I don't mind the taste at all) and It not only makes my skin clear and soft, but it keeps me calm and relaxed... perfect to drink right before going to bed.

This Rocks for Hormonal Acne!!!!
Ever since I have stopped taking birth control 10 years ago my hormonal acne was out of control. Within that time frame I have seen multiple dermatologists and I was prescribed various antibiotics, facial washes, and topical creams which really did not work for me. Recently I came to this website to look for natural remedies in order to deal with my hormonal acne and I noticed that green tea received a lot of favorable reviews. I decided to give organic matcha green tea powder and Tazo's green tea (with spearmint, due to its anti-androgen effects!) a try. I've been drinking 2 to 3 cups a day for two weeks and I've noticed a reduction of acne on my lower face and back. If anyone is looking for a natural remedy for their hormonal acne I would definitely suggest giving this a try!

Only thing that's ever worked for me
I've had horrible hormonal cystic breakouts all over my chin and jawline for the past 6 years (I'm 24) and Ive been on the pill even longer, and nothing I've ever tried (including cutting our dairy) has worked to clear it. I started drinking warm/hot green tea every single day - anywhere from 3-6 cups - and I haven't had any cystic breakouts since. I can eat whatever I want - although I don't eat meat - and never have to worry about my skin. As for brands, the one I use is uncle lee (it's organic and very cheap), I love the taste and I don't add any sweetener. Also, I use aveeno clear complexion foaming cleanser and aveeno clear complexion daily moisturizer.

Pros:

Reduces redness amazingly, dries up pimples, great astringent, love drinking green tea

Cons:

Doesn't taste that great without a little sugar, Bitter

I love using green tea on my acne!!! I used to have really bad acne. I'd get cystic pimples and lots of whiteheads over night. But now, I drink at least 1-2 mugs of green tea a day, and I get a cotton ball and use green tea as an astringent before bed. I've been following this routine for about a week and 1/2 now, and my skin looks great!!! All the redness is gone! I have to say my skin is a little dry, but that's alright. My acne is gone! There's no more cystic pimples, which I hate! My skin is back to it's beautiful, pale, self. Also, drinking all that green tea puts me in such a great and relaxed mood. =3

Pros:

affordable, healthy for skin AND body

Cons:

Takes some time getting use to its taste (I'm use to it now)

I've only been drinking it for about a 10 days now (I drink one cup every morning before school,) and I can already tell my face is a lot cleaner and clearer. I also haven't notice any new forms of acne. I will continue to use green tea as long as I can.

Pros:

Taste (for some people), helps reduce redness/scaring and acne. Works fast, doesn't take much time out of the day. Easy to incorporate into daily routine. Gives me energy throughout the day.

Cons:

None.

I've had annoying acne for about 6 years. I wouldn't mind just having no acne and scars, but I would get new breakouts everyday. And not just one or two. Many at a time. I've tried the works; Proactiv, Clearasil, Neutrogena, etc. They stopped my many breakouts and reduced it to only 1 or 2 a day. Green Tea has stopped my breakouts, so I had little to no new pimples. I've had about 3 new pimples since drinking and applying green tea topically. 3 in a few weeks is very nice. The green tea is even fading my acne scars. Overall I give this treatment a 10/10, because it's fast, cheap, and easy. I highly recommend this.

Pros:

Actually does help and is good for your body too

Cons:

can get expensive to buy so much green tea
and it makes you pee!

This made me feel really good and I know green tea is good for your body and helps with cancer and stuff so I'm going to try to drink it as much as possible. But I was told only to get the really good stuff and it got too expensive to use 3 teabags a day so I've had to cut back. I did notice a difference in my skin. My acne was still there but the pimples didn't seem so angry.... I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be healthier in general and probably help their skin too

Pros:

Quickly reduces size of existing pimples when applied topically, reduces the number of breakouts when you drink it, inexpensive, healthy.

Cons:

None.

I have been drinking 5-6 cups of green tea, as well as applying it directly to my skin, for about a week and a half. I was seeing results by the third day. Normally when I have one of those big puss-filled pimples, it takes weeks before it is gone and the red mark it leaves behind is gone. With this treatment, it took a day or two for the pimple to be gone, and the scar faded in another day or two. I've also noticed I have had little to no new pimples form in the time that I've been using green tea. Green tea is incredibly healthy and inexpensive. I wish I had tried this treatment 8 years ago - I've been on (and am currently on) so many prescriptions for my acne, none of which has done more than an average job of helping out my acne. The difference in my skin quality in about 10 days is incredible. If you don't like the taste of green tea, get over it. This is such a simple, worthwhile, and healthy treatment. On a side note, I used to be addicted to coffee, but ever since I started drinking green tea (the decaffeinated kind!) I haven't found coffee as appealing and I've felt pretty energetic. This would be a good thing to try if you are trying to reduce the amount of caffeine you drink.

green tea for hormonal acne.
I am 38 and have suffered from acne on & off from the age of about 13.It carried on throughout my twenties & stopped for a while when i had a baby then came back.Anyway i have probably been prescribed most of the oral & topical antibiotics available over the years. Some have been fantastic and i have had months where my skin is clear. But it always seem to come back. From my mid thirties my face seem to clear up and i very rarely get any bad spots on my face.My neck and jaw where a different matter however. They just seem to be constantly covered in cystic type acne which was so bad i found it hard to sleep at times. After going back to the gp i was given a 6 month course of lymecycline. It improved it a lot but it started to come back in a milder form after a few months. After a lot of my own research i am sure i have hormonal acne as it seems to flare up for a few days each month then subsides!I hated lymecycline as it really made me feel ill & as someone who dosen,t even like taking painkillers i have tried various herbal remedies. Most have had no effect until i read a article on acne.einstein about hormonal acne & how green tea can balance your hormones.I was a bit sceptical but starting drinking 4 cups each day a few months ago.I buy a decent green tea from my local health shop & i have to drink decaffeinated as the normal green tea gave me a headache.Apart from the odd pimple my neck has really cleared up & i rarely get any acne on my jawline now.I have also noticed that my complexion is a lot calmer in general as i have sensitive skin which is quite itchy normally. And the odd time that i do get a flare up on my neck i use one of the warm teabags and wipe it over my skin.Within a couple of hours it has calmed down.So i cant praise green tea enough. To be honest i am not a fan of the taste, but for clear skin it is worth it.I drink normal tea in the morning with milk as i really miss not having that. But then throughout the day i make sure i have at least 4 cups of green tea.So i really hope it continues to work.

Pros:

Only thing that has made an improvement on my acne
Smooth skin
Better Moods
More energy
Low Price
Natural - no side effects

Cons:

None

So I have the typical acne story, I've tried EVERYTHING! I had given up, putting it down to college stress, being young etc. but then when I graduated college, I decided enough was enough, I'm too old for this and it was time to get rid of my acne for good. I read about green tea and immediately started drinking 2-3 cups a day. (My mam already had some at home which was handy!) I also topically apply a teabag to my affected areas once a day and use it as a toner morning and night. It's only been a week and I can already see great results, my skin feels much smoother and I have way less (and smaller) breakouts, which fade quicker. I still have a long way to go to curing my acne but this is definitely a great start, I'm delighted to finally be getting some results and today I switched my cleanser to La Roche Posay Foaming Cleansing Gel in the hope that this will also help (It's gotten some great reviews) but basically you should definitely try green tea because even if it doesn't work for you, it is very cheap, healthy and doesn't have any nasty side effects. I 100% recommend this. Try it! :)
