Pros:

Cheap, tasty, and very good for you - has antioxidants which help prevent cancer and all sorts of infections.

Cons:

Might be a radical change for some people. As another reviewer said, too much can make you feel ill, make sure you don't drink much on an empty stomach.

I've been using this for years, and on its own it's reduced my acne from very severe to moderate/light, depending on what time of the month it is. It's more pricey, but using loose tea is better than teabags. It's always best to try natural solutions and avoid the chemicals if you can help it. I reccomend dropping coffee and drinking green tea instead, the difference will be immediate. Works as a great toner as well.

Pros:

Significantly clearer skin, much less oil production. Cheap, even if using three tea bags a day.

Cons:

Can be messy when applied topically. Have to apply it three times a day, at least.

I've used green tea topically for the last three months and it has done wonders. A few suggestions: *Use decaf green tea. Caffeine makes acne worse and when you apply caffeinated green tea topically, the caffeine absorbs through the skin. If you are only using it topically, the caffeine provides no benefit at all. *If you're drinking it, also skip the caffeine. *The topical effects and not related to the consumption effects. Green tea works topically whether you drink it or not. *Find a green tea that is decaffeinated naturally, with CO2 not with chemicals. Chemical decaffeination strips out a lot of critical antioxidants. *You can (and probably should) use green tea with benzoyl peroxidize. If I use anything else with BP, in inflames my skin and I break out. That's not the case with green tea, which is extraordinarily anti-inflammatory. *I apply green tea in the morning & night and layer GT over it. In the afternoon, I wash with water and re-apply GT. Works wonder

Pros:

Topically: Can improve skin tone + quell breakouts. But seemed to become ineffective after a while or possibly my acne got worse and it couldn't handle it.
As for drinking it: I'LL NEVER TAKE THIS AGAIN!!

Cons:

A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. Made my acne 10 times worse. I'm 21 but felt like I was transported back to when I was 15 with horrible skin.

I took this for about 2 months with this best of intentions. After reading in countless places online and on this site about how this can reduce the activity of 5 alpha reductase, by concerting testosterone to DHT, I thought it could work not just for my skin but also for my hair loss. But my acne gradually got worse and bordering on severe. After about 1 and a half I had enough. I don't think this was a case of me not giving it enough time or "it gets worse before it gets better"....it simply got worse and stayed worse. My hormones were raging. I began researching more and read other peoples experiences where they claimed it increased the activity 5 alpha reductase. And as soon as I stopped the worst of it subsided. And then I had great big purple marks from where the worst spots had been and they were just as bad as real spots. I experienced increased sex drive and I also lost a little weight. I advice anyone who is considering supplementing on this to have caution.

Pros:

evens skin tone and overall complexion, helps to eradicate acne!

Cons:

you need to drink quite a lot, so you'll find yourself running to the toilet often!

i'm half japanese, so tea has always been a big part of my diet and identity! i did however go through a bit of a stage where i didn't drink any tea for some reason, and broke out in intensely painful spots! i've always had nice skin, and a good complexion so it was kinda acary! green tea is so inexpensive these days, get yourself to a chinese supermarket and you can get a large quantity for half the price of what you'll find on the high street or in supermarkets, and there are so many vareities, and so many flavours it can boggle your mind! in Japan, people swear by green tea as a health supplement, and people rarely get skin problems like they do over here! this method works great for nice skin, but you do have to commit to it and adjust your diet to accomodate drinking lots of tea!! it's not a quick fix!!!

Pros:

Green tea does reduce SBHG,which traps free testosterone. (Acne is an androgenic disorder). This means lower DHT and 5 alpha reductase levels. Drink a large pot daily. Use Niacin 250mg, B5, B6, and zinc daily with a meal. Ignore skin irritation.

Cons:

Men may suffer from Andropause, eradication of acne is great, but say good bye to that super sex drive and super erections your used to!!! Any rebound will bring back the drive AND the acne.Been there done that. You cant have one without the other!

Acne can be defeated! Detoxify your blood, eat clean, take niacin 250, b5, b6, zinc and drink a big pot of green/black tea daily. But say good bye to that great sex drive.
