Pros:

-It stops breakouts
-It leaves skin smooth
-Inexpensive
-It really does WORK !

Cons:

-It don't feel like It cleans your skin
-I can't really tell if I washed it all off
-It don't foam

Ive used cetephil the oily skin one for about 3 months. The results were slow, and I broke out 3 times during those 3 months. Then I ran out. I stopped using it for 2 weeks. I broke out 2 times during that time when I didn't have it. My acne went from moderate to moderatly severe. I though it was just how cetaphil worked. So I went to the drug store and bought the regular cetaphil. I was amazed that It worked better than the oily skin one. And really did clear my acne ! I love cetaphil. Its amazing ! I went on vacation for a week and forgot about the cetaphil. My skin stayed clear ! I Absolutely love cetaphil ! Its amazing.

Pros:

gentle, repairs your skin of all the damage of normal cleansers, good value

Cons:

none

excellent facewash i dont know why i usto keep stopping using it to try other cleansers because i have always gone back to cetaphil, i have used it for over a year now so i know ths cleanse well, dont waste your money on stupids acne cleansers that will just burn irritate and make your skin dry and itchy, use cetaphil. take oral acne medications not lotions or creams, they ruin your skin!

Pros:

Very gentle
No smell
Washes off easily

Cons:

Has a weird consistency
Goes on like a thin lotion

To me, the consistency and the way a product goes on is not as important as if it truly works. Although I have not been using this product for long, I have no complaints about its effectiveness.

Pros:

Non-drying
Easily Available
Inexpensive

Cons:

Non-lathering

A dermatologist recommended this to me 10 years ago when I first began the process of treating my acne. The idea behind this cleanser is not to treat your acne, but to give the products you are using a clean basis for the treatment to work. Cetaphil does not lather, tingle, or dry out your skin. Because of this, many people do not feel the cleanser is working properly. Trust me, after this long, I still come back to this cleanser after I have the urge to try something new. This is a great cleanser if you are using prescription acne products that tend to be irritating or if you are having any procedures done on a regular basis, such as microdermabrasion or chemical peels.

Pros:

Gentle
Does a decent job cleansing
Smooths and soothes my skin

Cons:

Doesn't feel like it is cleaning
Feels like it is leaving a film on my skin

I love this cleanser! I don't know why I ever strayed. I left this cleanser at the beginning of the summer and a paid for it all summer. I tried using a different basic cleanser and it irritated my skin because of the detergents in it. This has a little bit, but not nearly as much as the other cleanser I was using. It may not feel like it is doing much, but after not using it anymore, I found out how much it does do for my skin. It smooths and takes care of the redness and just makes my skin look very healthy especially during the cold Minnesota winters! I would recommend this cleanser to anybody and be patient, it takes awhile to notice how much it does for your skin. Keep in mind if you wear makeup, you might need to use cleansing wipes before using this cleanser because it doesn't do the greatest job removing makeup, but it's not really supposed to.

Pros:

Helps with dry skin caused by acne treatment, i.e. redness and flaking
Gentle
Leaves skin feeling soft
Inexpensive
Excellent for sensitive skin

Cons:

Doesn't leave that satisfying "clean" feel
Doesn't actively clear acne

I've used this for years, and I love it, although it took me a while to come around. I used to use the formula for oily skin, because I assumed that would be best for acne. However, I now use the regular formula with excellent results. Many people become disheartened because they expect it to clear acne, but that is not its purpose. It creates clean, soft skin and helps eliminate much of the redness and flaking caused by BP. I hated it for the first month because it didn't feel like the cleansers I was accustomed to. It feels like washing your face with lotion, which made me afraid it would cause more breakouts. Overall, don't be turned off because it feels different than you expect. It is an excellent cleanser, particularly for those pursing active acne treatment, as it repairs damage caused by the treatment process.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Doesn't clear up acne or improve complexion, it doesn't lather, it doesn't make my face feel very clean afterwards

This is probably a good cleanser for people with absolutely no acne. However, if you do have acne, it will not work for you. It's just like washing your face with water.

Pros:

smooth
can be used w/o water
no smell

Cons:

you have to use a lot
takes a while to work

I've tried tons and tons of cleansers and the way it always works is like this (1) for about a week it will work perfectly, clear my acne and everything (2) after about a week they will stop working and dry out my skin. With Cetaphil it never dries out my skin it leaves if feeling smooth and refreshed. I found that it did clear my whiteheads and blackheads in two days (four uses) My acne was always kind of random but i would always have at least one pimple on my face. One of the biggest cons is that the Cetaphil doesn't really clear your acne, it will slowly make it go down but it takes a while (over a week) If you need a regular cleaner then this is your product but if you want amazing results over night think again. In the end i would recoment this product to anyone looking for a regular cleaner. I use the one for gentle skin even though mine isn't that sensitive.

Pros:

mild
odor free
rinses easily

I always recommend this brand to friends and others looking for a new cleanser or moisturizer. This product is readily available and cheap compared to others. It leaves the skins smooth and fresh feeling even when used twice a day. Other great Cetaphil products include the moisturizer which contains sunscreen and feels light when applied.
