Pros:

Gentle
Does a decent job cleansing
Smooths and soothes my skin

Cons:

Doesn't feel like it is cleaning
Feels like it is leaving a film on my skin

I love this cleanser! I don't know why I ever strayed. I left this cleanser at the beginning of the summer and a paid for it all summer. I tried using a different basic cleanser and it irritated my skin because of the detergents in it. This has a little bit, but not nearly as much as the other cleanser I was using. It may not feel like it is doing much, but after not using it anymore, I found out how much it does do for my skin. It smooths and takes care of the redness and just makes my skin look very healthy especially during the cold Minnesota winters! I would recommend this cleanser to anybody and be patient, it takes awhile to notice how much it does for your skin. Keep in mind if you wear makeup, you might need to use cleansing wipes before using this cleanser because it doesn't do the greatest job removing makeup, but it's not really supposed to.

Pros:

Helps with dry skin caused by acne treatment, i.e. redness and flaking
Gentle
Leaves skin feeling soft
Inexpensive
Excellent for sensitive skin

Cons:

Doesn't leave that satisfying "clean" feel
Doesn't actively clear acne

I've used this for years, and I love it, although it took me a while to come around. I used to use the formula for oily skin, because I assumed that would be best for acne. However, I now use the regular formula with excellent results. Many people become disheartened because they expect it to clear acne, but that is not its purpose. It creates clean, soft skin and helps eliminate much of the redness and flaking caused by BP. I hated it for the first month because it didn't feel like the cleansers I was accustomed to. It feels like washing your face with lotion, which made me afraid it would cause more breakouts. Overall, don't be turned off because it feels different than you expect. It is an excellent cleanser, particularly for those pursing active acne treatment, as it repairs damage caused by the treatment process.

Pros:

mild
odor free
rinses easily

I always recommend this brand to friends and others looking for a new cleanser or moisturizer. This product is readily available and cheap compared to others. It leaves the skins smooth and fresh feeling even when used twice a day. Other great Cetaphil products include the moisturizer which contains sunscreen and feels light when applied.

Pros:

the best, period.

Cons:

have to use a lot

a doctor told me to use cetaphil because it doesn't help acne, but it doesn't hurt it. it simply cleanses your skin and leaves it as normal as possible. using bp and sacylic acid really made my skin worse and i believe it was due to all the chemical imbalances. i have tried everything: dan's regimen, proactiv, prescribed topicals, almost every OTC cleanser, toner, and lotion, etc.. and the only thing that works is doxycycline (a prescribed pill that i take once daily) and cetaphil gentle in the morning and at night, a third time if you workout or sweat at work. i have rather oily skin and tried the normal to oily cetaphil, but go with the gentle it works the best. wet face, gently massage every pore, and a few splashes. don't worry about having to rinse it all off, it's also made to be used without water. use sunscreen spf 15+ if you know you're going to be in the sun. don't worry about toners, and lotion. i haven't had a breakout since, withering wrinkles, and soft skin. seriously, do less, use less, get better results. go to your doctor, ask for doxycycline, and buy cetaphil gentle.

Pros:

Soap Free
Non-comedogenic
Gentle
Cheap

Cons:

It is a very gentle cleanser, therefore does not remove make up effectively in one wash. You need to wash your face twice, using the cleanser to remove all traces of make up.

I started to use this cleanser when I was using Duac and Differin topicals, which were extremely drying. I read the Cetaphil reviews on acne.org and decided to buy the gentle skin cleanser and the moisturising lotion. I love using the Cetaphil cleanser; it cleans and leaves my skin feeling incredibly smooth. I also think it has helped stop further acne breakouts. I was using various brand spot washes, which I think stripped my skin, which caused my skin to produce more oil and breakout. My skin has now cleared up thanks to Duac, Differin and Cetaphil. I'm now using the Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser lotion twice a day and occasionally Differin at night to stop new breakouts. I also use a gentle no-alcohol toner (brand I use is Simple) after I use the cleanser to refresh and tone my skin. Cetaphil is made by Galderma which is the same brand that produces Differin, so it is a brand you can trust for dermatological excellence. The cleanser is relatively cheap, so it worth giving it a go and seeing if it works for you.

Pros:

Completely non-drying
Light
Skin feels clean after use

Cons:

Doesn't treat blackheads

Since I first got breakouts in early high school, I've been trying what seems like hundreds of products to help my sensitive skin. Nothing ever seemed to work! Cetaphil was always a product I came back to when my face was recovering from the damage other cleansers had done. I highly recommend it to anyone with sensitive skin. In fact, I really do recommend it to anyone. I know we can't have everything but I would love it if it helped with blackheads too. Great cleanser though! It'll be the only cleanser I use for everyday use - morning and night. Ps: I buy the 1litre pump bottle as it's lasts for a few months and is a great price!

Pros:

Face feels clean
Make redness go down
Feels gentle on my skin

Cons:

None so far

I have only been using Cetaphil for one day and yes perhaps I shouldn't be jumping to conclusions but it has already seemed to have done wonders for my skin. I have damaged skin due to a bad experience with using proactive and already I see improvements. The redness is going down. I would wake up every day with a new pimple but none, so far and none seem to be forming. My old one aren't sore or flaky anymore. I look forward to continuing using it. I would love to get my clean skin back again.

Pros:

Extremely gentle, soothes and softens skin, calms redness, non-drying, inexpensive.

Cons:

Consistency.

Here's the deal (and it's been said on here many times) - the consistency is awful. It's like watery goo or clear lotion. Your skin will not feel "fresh and clean" or stripped. However, with that said, it's still one of the best face washes out there. It never dries out my skin, even in the winter, and I have pretty dry skin. It soothes and calms redness, and it leaves my face feeling soft and moisturized. If you can get over the no foaming or lathering, it's amazing.
