Cleans.
Doesn't leave skin dry.
Gets rid of the flakyness!!
Doesn't irritate skin.
No fragrences.
No alcohol.
Cheap.

Cons:

None!

I have sensitive skin, and with all the harsh topicals from the dermatologist, I COULDEN'T use a harsh cleanser. This is PERFECT for sensitive skin, and doesn't make my skin oily. Great!

Pros:

Cleans really well without stripping my skin. Leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth.

Cons:

None - I don't mind the non-foaming characteristic - foaming doesn't mean a product is working, it's just the result of a specific ingredient this doesn't have (sodium lauryl sulfate, I think.)

Excellent cleanser for those with or without acne. I want to point out that Cetaphil is a CLEANSER, and while derms recommend it to those with acne, Cetaphil is not designed to treat acne, and makes no claims that it will help with acne. Dermatologists recommend it because it is a very GENTLE cleanser, with no fragrance or unnecessary ingredients, so it is unlikely to exacerbate acne symptoms that way some other cleansers can. So... for those of you who say "it didn't work for me".... if it cleaned your face, it worked for you. Its purpose is not to make acne go away. It did help with my relatively mild acne, though. It's kept the moisture in my skin balanced, and I can clean several times a day to get rid of oil (I have extremely oily skin) and my skin doesn't end up stripped and dry.

NO
I honestly don't understand why so many people recommend cetaphil as a cleanser. My skin does NOT feel clean whenever I use this. I tried cleaning a makeup sponge with this to see if it actually cleans anything on my face, and nothing came off. I used a pea size of Dan Kern's cleanser, and the makeup on my sponge easily came off! How is cetaphil cleansing in any way???

You don't use a separate makeup removing wipe/micellar water/oil to remove your makeup?

Pros:

-really helps dry skin
-dosen't smell at all
-easy to apply and doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy

Cons:

-may cause acne to begin with

I started using cetaphil about a week ago and I absolutely loved it for the first few days- it got rid of ALL the pimples on my face, and there were a lot of pimples there, I'm talking a forest of cystic pimples, so I was so happy. It was also doing wonders for my dry skin that always used to peel and got rid of the redness from previous acne. Then about 2 days ago, I got a couple of white heads on my chin and my forehead. Usually, I would pop them straight away, but because I was on holidays I figured I would leave them and keep using cetaphil- within 1 day they were gone. I've never had that happen to me before because I'd normally pop them. Today it has been one full week since I started using it and this morning I've woken up to two very large red pimples of my forehead with pus. Instead of popping them, i've put on cetaphil (I use the non-water method) and I have already noticed the redness has gone down and it has only been 10 minutes! Would really recommend this product to acne sufferers, however be aware that it could cause you to break out within the first few days. Have patience- it has helped me so much with my confidence, I love it :)

Pros:

Leaves skin very soft
rash on face started to disappear

Cons:

None yet

I kept getting rash on my face, which my doctor diagnosed as "foliculitis". When I got home I did my own little research what the best approach would be besides gulping antibiotics. I came across a post abt the condition an anti bacterial soap was suggested. Then I googles the best a.b dopa and cetapil showed up with very good reviews. It's been a week and no complaints at all. I will surely report back after another week to keep u guys updated

Didn't completely clear my acne
I had moderate to severe acne and after just using this product with Simple replenishing rich moisturizer, I still had mild acne with clogged pores. I'm not complaining because my skin has been much worse. This product makes my oily, acne prone skin feel soft and clean. However, I need a medicated product like Stridex max strength pads to really help with the rest of the acne. 4 starts because it cleans my face and makes it feel good but it hasn't cleared my acne after a year and a half of use.

In love with this product
I'm a beauty therapist and this has been recommend to me by a dermatologist and doctor. Most people say it causes them breakout but the truth is that you have used crap products that have striped and made your skin sensitive and this balances it out it may take a little while but it is worth it. I recommend to all my clients on a daily basis

Pros:

Keeps face from becoming oily and greasy
Prevents acne for people who have moderate / light acne or even used to have severe acne
Can get large containers of it so it lasts a long time

Cons:

Expensive

I used to have extremely severe acne due to incontrollable amounts of grease and oil that would layer on my face no matter what product I used. After going on dozens of prescriptions, I eventually went on Accutane which cleared up all my acne after about a year and a half. BUT, even though most of my acne stopped, the grease and oil was still heavy. Cetaphil cleared this up perfectly. After almost a decade of having a greasy face, I now live with clear, SHINE-FREE skin! I can prove it was Cetaphil because I went back to college for a new semester and forgot to take my bottle with me and my face was so greasy and oily and I started getting mild acne again, along with an 100% shiny face 24/7. I immediately retrieved my Cetaphil and my face cleared up again after two days. I love my cetaphil and will never live without it again! I do not know how this product works for people with dry skin. But for people who get greasy, oily skin, this product is for you.

Pros:

Gentle Cleanser
Non-Irritating
Non-Foaming
Non-Fragranced
Doesn't Dry Skin Out
Non-Comedogenic
Dermatologist Recommended
Low Price $ out of $$$

Cons:

Not a Good Makeup Remover

Honestly, I don't think this is pricey at all. Unless you don't live in the states the price of this product doesn't even compare to the pricey products you could purchase at the counter. Anyways, I went to my dermatologist and was recommended to use Cetaphil before my Benzoyl Peroxide wash. I wake up in the morning use a generous amount of Cetaphil wash it off, then use the BP which I also wash off. The results? Amazing. When you look at the product its a slightly cloudy lotion like cream. It doesn't foam up, which won't strip too much of the oil from your face. It's not supposed too. Turns out if you strip the oils from your face your skin tries to produce more to replace your skins barrier. The verdict? Using a product that makes your skin feel "tight" will just end up making your skin more oily afterward. My skins very clear now. For the first time, in a long time I've felt very confident in my appearance. Except for my dark circles, I don't wear any foundation of concealer, because I don't need any! Speaking of makeup this is not a very good makeup remover. Makeup remover is designed to dissolve tough makeup, think of grease paint. I would use Cetaphill after I remove my makeup to help moisturize my face again. The Bottom Line- This is a great product, well recommended.

Positive to mixed feelings
Yeah, couldn't stay away from the Cetaphil craze (whether good or bad), either. XD Liked the creamy, liquid texture; lathered up with very little foaming. Took this to be a good sign, since in my experience excessively foaming cleansers tend to strip my face of moisture. *_* Left on my (very) light skin makeup to see how much Cetaphil could remove on its own--anything that reduces the amount of makeup remover needed is a huge plus in my book! ^_^ Was a little disappointed to see how little was removed, but oh well. ¯_(ツ)_/ ¯ After a few days of using the product I definitely noticed improvement around my forehead and jawline. My complexion looked a lot healthier, too. =) Skin felt very supple, so much that moisturizer was unnecessary. The biggest drawback of Cetaphil for me were the parabens included in its ingredients list. Had mixed feelings (I'm pretty cautious about this stuff, lol), so I decided to search for something better: found what I wanted in CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser for Normal Skin :D. TL;DR If you care neither for a product's makeup-removing ability nor its ingredient list, I recommend this product to you.
