Ingredients change :(
I've been using this product for years and have always loved it. I just bought a new bottle and this one has a strong fragrance. I looked at the ingredients from my old bottle vs. this bottle and indeed ingredients have been added. I definitely prefer the non fragrant version of the past. What happened?

Pros:

Cleans face wonderfully

Cons:

IS NOT A ACNE TREATMENT!

It's a great clenser to tagalong with a acne treatment, and it leaves your skin soft and shiny, IF YOU HAVE NO ACNE! This IS NOT something that will take away ANY acne at all. This have simply helped me with the slight skin dryness Acne Free left me with. P.S. I've been using Acne Free for about 2 weeks, and no results yet, maybe some later I hope? I plan to try Netrogena On Spot tommorow,

Pros:

Suds well, great price!

Cons:

Fragrance.

Get familiar with this and Johnson's Baby Head to Toe Wash and it maybe two ingredients off...but practically the same! I bought this while I was stateside visiting. It leaves skin feeling soft, and provides gentle cleansing, however, they could remove the fragrance (not necessary, can be irritating for some). I am A Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Kinda Girl but not having the suds I think needed to clean skin is killing me! And this was another alternative. I do use Solugel 4% at night so I do think that having a gentle cleanser is best! For me however, sometimes I get those fine millia bumps (a sign of irritation) which tells me to stop...so I will go back to Cetaphil...I'll get over my need of sudsing!

Pros:

Removes makeup well
Smells really fresh and clean
A little goes a long way

Cons:

Can't leave it in the shower
Leaks horribly out of the top so it makes travel difficult
Can irritate skin after awhile

I bought this because I just wanted a simple cleanser that would remove my light makeup and wouldn't clog my pores or cost a fortune. It removed my makeup very well and it smells really good, and I was really happy with it for about a month. I noticed I had been breaking out more than normal in little red pimples all over my face, but I thought it might be the stress from summer classes and crappy roommates, but I spent a couple weeks at my parent's house and went back to my old cleanser I had laying around in a cabinet (I used to use Cetaphil Gentle) and by the time I went back to my home in Minnesota these little red bumps had disapeared. That is the only think that changed in my routine, so I have to say that the Purpose Cleanser is what was wrecking my skin. I don't think it clogged my pores, but I do think it irritated my face and that is almost just as bad as clogged pores. I have found out that the Sodium Laureth Sulfate in it (which is one of the top ingredients) can be very irritating. I did really like this cleanser and I feel bad that it didn't work out for me, so I am not going to get it a bad rating because it didn't work out for me. If you don't have sensitive skin than this will probably work out great for you, so I do recommend it, just not for me :)

Pros:

Fragrence free.

Cons:

Too drying.
Too expensive.

I had to stop using this face wash because it was too drying for me. I actually dilluted it with some water and that seemed to help stop it from being so strong. I now use dove fragrence free soap on my face and it isn't so dry. It is a really nice face wash, but too drying for me.

Pros:

good lather, convenient pump packaging

Cons:

irritated my face, excessive peeling and irritation

this contains sodium laureth sulfate! sls is the major skin irritant that is out there, no wonder they don't put their ingredients on the bottle, if it's too good to be true...it is!

Pros:

- Very Gentle
- Effectively removes oil, dirt & makeup.

Cons:

- Makes me breakout around my mouth.
- Poor packaging.

All in all, this is a good cleanser. It isn't irritating at all and does a very good job of cleaning your face. It also isn't too over-drying, which is always a plus. Unfortunately for me, it made me breakout around my mouth, I'm sure it has something to do with this cleanser because I NEVER broke out around my mouth until a few days into using this. I switched back to my old cleanser, and sure enough, no breakouts around my mouth anymore. I then tried using this stuff again a few weeks later to give it another shot because I really do like the way it feels and the job it does...but I broke out around my mouth again. But I do recommend it, permitting your skin can handle it.

mixed feelings

Pros:

cleared my nose/cheek porestrip area
other uses

Cons:

think it might've given me small acne patches

i washed my face with this for almost a week, and got a patch of blackheads and a few more zits, hmm? Alot of people on makeupalley have noticed a patches of dry skin or bumps that pop up. maybe didnt clean throughly or maybe it was just random acne or weather change. WHO KNOWS. However I do wash every area of my face with cerave and used purpose for only the "pore strip" sized area of my face near my eyes/upper cheeks and my skin in the pore strip area has been so clear and supple, ONLY in that area though. Im afraid ill break out if I use it all over since coincidentally my skin had a few more dots then usual when I used it for a week and my sister broke out in cyst, This makes me way too scared to try it out on my whole face, but for my nose/blackhead area it really works to keep it smooth and bright, I wish it'd work like that everywhere else hmm.... I want to give it a try but I dont think so. the rest of my cheeks have been breaking out and I wonder if its because this facewash runs into the rest of my cheeks as I rinse/wash. I DONT GET IT. If you dont like it for your face,it can be used for makeup brushes or body wash, its almost baby wash. I give it a 3 because it has potential and it does keep my nose under eye cheek area clear! if only i wasnt so scared!
