Pros:

gentle, eliminates redness/irritation, does not dry out skin, does not cause breakouts or clog pores

Cons:

none!

i've tried quite a few face washes since starting the regimen back in june 2008, including dan's own cleanser. this is by far THE BEST one that i've found. it's the only one that actually balances my skin. it removes all dirt and makeup without taking any of the natural oil off my face. my skin does not feel tight or dry after using this, and it also completely knocks out redness. the tone and texture of my skin is much improved, and my blackheads have reduced dramatically.

Pros:

-You can be sure that it won't clog pores or aggravate acne
-Fragrance and die free
-Non irritating
-Easily removes dirt, oil, and makeup
-Inexpensive

Cons:

-May be too drying for extremely sensitive skin
-Can be a bit hard to rinse off

I recently switched to this after using Cetaphil for several months. I prefer Purpose because it's definitely non-comedogenic, (Cetaphil is pretty rich and not-oil free and I'm pretty convinced that it does actually clog my huge pores.) This will be the only cleanser I'll use from now on.

Pros:

-Gentle
-Cleanses well
-Removes makeup well
-Non drying
-Non irritating
-Not much of a fragrance
-Effective

Cons:

-Can leak through the pump so it might not be safe for travel

I absolutely love this cleanser! It reminds me exactly of the acne.org cleanser, but just more of a cheaper alternative and can be purchased at the drugstore. I've been using this for about two months now (ever since i ran out of my acne.org cleanser) and it works wonders! my face always feels fresh and clean after using this. I highly reccomend this product if you cannot, for any reason, order Dan's cleanser online. It is just as effective!

Pros:

gentle, but effective
face always felt clean afterwards
not drying

Cons:

the pump/dispenser is bad for travel, but fine for the sink
not meant to clear up acne

I really like this cleanser. I've used it off and on for a while now, just because I wanted to try out other cleansers too. I like the fact that it's gentle because I'm currently on a retinoid treatment and my skin is extremely sensitive because of it. If you want a reliable cleanser that will simply cleanse the gunk off your face, this does just that. (keeping in mind I remove my makeup before washing my face) I also like the fact that it produced suds (unlike the cetaphil gentle cleanser) which made me feel like it was doing its job.

Pros:

Cleans face wonderfully

Cons:

IS NOT A ACNE TREATMENT!

It's a great clenser to tagalong with a acne treatment, and it leaves your skin soft and shiny, IF YOU HAVE NO ACNE! This IS NOT something that will take away ANY acne at all. This have simply helped me with the slight skin dryness Acne Free left me with. P.S. I've been using Acne Free for about 2 weeks, and no results yet, maybe some later I hope? I plan to try Netrogena On Spot tommorow,

This is a great cleanser, that is very gentle. It does not clog pores, or break out skin like many others. I would highly recommend this product.

Pros:

Suds well, great price!

Cons:

Fragrance.

Get familiar with this and Johnson's Baby Head to Toe Wash and it maybe two ingredients off...but practically the same! I bought this while I was stateside visiting. It leaves skin feeling soft, and provides gentle cleansing, however, they could remove the fragrance (not necessary, can be irritating for some). I am A Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Kinda Girl but not having the suds I think needed to clean skin is killing me! And this was another alternative. I do use Solugel 4% at night so I do think that having a gentle cleanser is best! For me however, sometimes I get those fine millia bumps (a sign of irritation) which tells me to stop...so I will go back to Cetaphil...I'll get over my need of sudsing!

Pros:

Gentle, rinses off well, cheap.

Cons:

Has strong fragrance, some ingredients may make you break out, small bottle compared to other face washes.

I decided to try this because I was using Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser and it was giving me little pimples - I thought that Purpose was about the same to Cetaphil - not for me. After just ONE washing with Purpose, the skin on my entire jawline started to break out with hives - I am guessing I am either allergic to the fragrance or the quantium-15 (some people have said it can irritate) so I immediately went back to the Cetaphil (which didn't give me hives) - just be careful of different ingredients - not all gentle washes are the same!

Pros:

gentle, removes makeup well, non irritating, affordable, doesn't clog pores, doesn't dry out skin.

Cons:

They could work on a better packaging as it doesn't travel well.

By far the BEST cleanser. I used Cetaphil for 3 months and it clogged my pores to the point where I had to have them extracted by my dermatologist (ouch!). Then I switched to Purpose and I saw great improvement. Then I decided to use Neutrogena Fresh Foam which dried out my skin. Then I went back to Purpose and again my skin was at its best. Then I decided to try La Roche Posay Toleriane cleanser which was awful. It left a residue on my skin and broke me out. Finally I went back to Purpose and within one day my skin cleared up. I am glad that I tried several cleansers because now I know that Purpose is the ONE for the reasons specified in the "pros" box and here. My regimen is very simple and my skin loves it. In the morning I cleanse followed with a high quality suncreen 50 spf, at night I cleanse again, use retin A (awesome product) followed by a light moisturizer. Clear skin is definitly attainable with a good regimen, good spf and a healthy lifestyle (NO refined carb and sugar).
