Pros:

Supposed to be good for me.

Cons:

I'm over 40 and in perimenopause. Within a week of taking just one capsule a day my skin broke out like a teen's, especially on my chin/jawline. I also found that my cheeks and nose were flushing way more often. (I have mild rosacea).

I think it's best for those women in perimenopause to say clear of flax oil. I did research and found it has a stronger form of estrogen than even soy does. (Taking flax oil would be adding more estrogen to those women who are already estrogen-dominant).

Pros:

Easy to take.

Cons:

Made me break out within a few days. When I stopped the flaxseed, I stopped breaking out as well.

Didn't work for me, but good luck.

Pros:

Cheap....

Cons:

BROKE OUT WORSE THAN EVER

I started taking this about a month ago because I had a big pimple on my nose. I had incredibly high hopes for this. Well, after taking the capsels religiously for a month, I broke out worse than I have in my entire life. I had SIX cystic/nodular pimples on my chin and under my nose. I was so upset, I didn't leave my house unless necessary, and, to prove how desperate and depressed I was, I was on the verge of ordering Accutane online. How unsafe and dumb!! This may work wonderfully for some people, and perhaps, if I stuck with it,. my skin would clear up and look better than ever. However, it's not worth the risk and the horrible days with all the acne that is finally now beginning to clear up after wearing the mint jaleup mask every night and salicylic acid spot treatment.

Pros:

I have helped my husband who has diabetes by making this and eating it with him. Works great to lower his sugar but I look ugly

Cons:

I am so broken out that I don't know what to do. I just started thinking what is different??? THE FLAX!!!!!!

I think I will stop eating it with him. Or maybe cut out all other types of oil for a week and see if it is the mix that is causing the break outs.

Pros:

My mother likes it but I don't

Cons:

The first day I started taking the seed my face felt really oily and weird. The second day my face broke out even more. I know that I should continue to take this product because it may be good for me but I can't bare any more pimples.

I didn't like it but maybe it will work for you.

Pros:

Cheap, good for regularity, took it to avail of the good omega's.

Cons:

Gave me bad acne

I started to take two Flaxseed oil capsules on Sunday, one in the morning, one at evening and by the next Sunday I was broke out around my chin and lip line terribly and very painful. I stopped taking the capsules and still had a terrible time healing, literally weeks. It was almost like the pimple would not turn to a whitehead nor go away but very painful and swollen. Prior to this I had no pimples but just wanted to take advantage of those good amega's. I got a raw deal!!!!!

Pros:

NOOOOOO. my face started breaking out in horrible cysts, and i, stupidly, could not figure out why or what i had started doing differently. i had been taking flax and eating flax cereal for about 2 weeks for omegas.

Cons:

i am pretty sure this in what inflamed my skin.

maybe it works for some people, and i know omegas are good but you can get them other ways. did NOT work for me.

Pros:

Cheaper supplement, easy to take. Helps with appetite, constapation! - Gone

Cons:

Acne returns, especially around hairline and nose. Feeling slightly too hot, flushes have returned! Supposedly a milder estrogen?

Helped with blood sugar levels and bloating/constipation, therefore beneficial for IBS, even possibly endometriosis, as inflamatory action..still thinking about this one though. Think if you are female 40plus experiencing symptoms of estrogen dominance, stay clear! Not helpful for acne rosacea. Read that lipase supplement maybe beneficial for those suffering with acne rosacea;- However digestive enzymes may help when;-supplementing with EFA's if acne occurs. possibly larger doses of HCI if flaxseed/fish oils cause breakouts? Must say since taking a broad spectrum digestive enzyme, acne etc. has improved... Bottom line: Look after your liver!

Pros:

None

Cons:

None

I used flaxseed (ground) for a month and did not notice any difference. My acne started getting worse. I do not think it was because of flaxseed. I went on accutane after a month and am loving it. MY skin is clear. Not a single breakout any more!
