Pros:

Very good for your body. Anti-inflamitory

Cons:

the pills can be a bit intimidating to swallow. they are pretty big

I've only been using fish oil pills for about 3 days. I take 2 pills in the morning and 1 at night. it has cleared up my skin pretty well for only 3 days. its so much better than using an acne product because you don't even have to touch your face. but i do recomend you use some kind of face wash just to be sure.

Pros:

Many health benefits, acne not being one of them

Cons:

Caused breakeouts when taking large quantities, i.e. 10 pills in a day.

This may work for you but it didn't work for me.

Pros:

Doesn't taste like anything, can find it on sale, you feel healthy taking it. Helps the rest of your body, with the omega-3, even if the acne didn't improve.

Cons:

I've taken one fish oil capsule with dinner and have gone through a whole container already, (that's 120 days!) hoping my acne around chin and mouth would disappear, but no such luck.

try it. if you don't eat a lot of fish or nuts, it's important to get the good omega-3 your body needs. For you it may work, you won't know until you try it.

Doesn't break me out
I take this stuff for preventative heart health ( I'm genetically predisposed to heart disease) and it doesn't break me out. I take a few supplements though so I'm not sure whether or not it helps clear my skin.

Pros:

Read alot lately on the correlation betw. clearing acne and taking omega 3. I think it works, along with the acne.org regimen. Omega 3's are anti-inflammatory, so it only makes sense that reducing inflamed boils, pimples etc. would be a benefit.

Cons:

None so far after 3 weeks.

Also great for heart health as well as skin.

Pros:

Redness has gone away & break outs are not as severe. Skin feels softer & is not as oily.

Cons:

Large pills & slight indigestion.

I have been struggling with acne for about eleven years now. I have tried just about everything except accutane. I currently use Proactiv, a good moisturizer, & consume eight fish oil pills a day, one pro biotic, and one vitamin B complex. Most of my acne is around my chin. Any advice would be awesome. Maybe change the brand of fish oil or up the dosage?

Pros:

Great for your body, helps balance hormones, may help in aiding weight loss.

Cons:

The pills are a bit intimidating if you are not used to swallowing larger pills.

It's definitely not the greatest treatment of acne out there, but it's great for your health!

Pros:

Reduced number of new breakouts, healthy for your entire body

I've been taking 3g of Omega 3 Fish Oil a day for the past week. I haven't had any new breakouts since I started taking it. It hasn't cleared up what was already there, but no new pimples for a week is a huge deal. I see no reason not to try this, because even if it doesn't help your skin, it is so wonderful for the rest of your body. Especially if you don't eat fish, like myself, and are lacking omega 3 in your body.

Does it work? I'm on it right now.
