Pros:

Cleared my skin
Reduced my acne scaring
Didn't dry out my skin too much
My face actually felt clean

Cons:

Dried out my skin a little, but nothing a moisturizer couldn't fix

I was using Proactiv for almost a year and then this past November I stopped and my skin went crazy. For about 3-4 months I had horrible breakouts, big, red and painful. I tried everything under the sun because I didn't want to use Proactiv anymore but I got fed up and I tried going back to it after all and it only made my skin worse. So finally after another 3 months of being back on and seeing no results I decided to give Cetaphil a try since I had used it previously and had heard such great things about it. Well let me tell you, the first week I saw results, My skin feels soft and my breakouts stopped and my acne scars are even fading. I'm so so happy with the results. I guess what they say is really true, sometimes simple is better! I strongly recommend this is you're having trouble with your skin, sometimes something simple goes a long way!

Pros:

Smooth skin
Cleared most of acne
No oily skin
A little goes a loooooong way

Cons:

Face feels a little slippery after rinsing

I quite like this brand, and despite the price tag I've found that a tiny bit goes a really really long way. The liquid is like a translucent gel and while it won't appear to have a dramatic clean with massive amounts of bubbles, it still left the skin feeling refreshed and clean, no irritation at all. Don't listen to the people harping on about the sodium laureth sulfate, unless you plan on leaving this product on your face for HOURS to get a POSSIBLE irritation. Coupled with a light weekly exfoliation, my pimples (which are like little bumps with hard plugs inside them, almost impossible to get out without resorting to squeezing) beat a hasty retreat and my scars seem to be improving as well.

Pros:

- Doesn't make acne worse
- Cleans thoroughly
- Easy to use

Cons:

- None!

Basically, I use Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser twice a day (morning and night) when I'm sweating a lot and my skin needs a more thorough clean (i.e. summer). I use Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser twice a day (morning and night) in the winter months when my skin is less oily and needs a gentler clean. I find that unless you are really sweaty, the Oily Skin Cleanser tends to dry out your skin, so only use this if you need it. I have noticed that my skin is less oily after I use the Oily Skin Cleanser for a couple of weeks. It doesn't make my acne any worse and definitely cleans skin well. It may not be the best cleanser out there, but it is certainly the best I've ever used.

Pros:

gentle
for the most part effective
doesn't irritate or dry out
makes skin soft

Cons:

didn't clean deeply
sometimes got breakouts
slowly working

I've been using this for like two or three years and am very satisfied. I have sensitive skin, and it's perfect for that. However, sometimes, in the morning, I'll wake up to oily skin again. Also, if I were to get a sudden breakout, it's not anything that will zap it quickly or anything. It keeps acne to a minimum, which is good. But sometimes I think it's a bit too gentle and not effective enough.

Pros:

Cleans face
Gentle wash (maybe bad for others)
Cheap
Doesn't irratate skin

Cons:

Doesn't treat acne by itself (which I didn't expect it too and I'm totally fine with it)
Feels weird after you rinse it off, but whatever
Funny smell, but it can't be any worse than putting piss on your face and smelling that(there are people that actually do it I have nothing against it and if it works for them, well good for them)

I've been using Rodan and Fields Unblemish for awhile, but I think around December they changed the formula and made it stronger which really irratated my already really greasy, sensitive and very dry skin. I had a very nasty breakout which I have very small permanent scars from. I started figuring out that the less chemicals I put on my face the better it was for the skin. So I removed the toner from the kit and used only the wash and the old moisturizer from when it was ony 2.5% BP. Just recently I ran out of the wash and I was at Target looking for a wash. Now I've heard of Cetaphil before, but was skeptical about it. So there I saw it on the shelf and was like "This is the wash I'm trusting my face with for the next two weeks. F**k it Cetaphil it is." Wow. I really like this stuff. Its way cheaper than what I used to get and I'm just blown away. One tip though. Wash with hot water and wash the grease off and open the pores then put this stuff on rub it in and rinse off with hot water.

Pros:

~Very gently on skin
~Redness reduce
~Less oily skin after use.
~A little bit over drying after wash

Cons:

Doesn't remove makeup

I wash my face with this in the morning and night. In the mornings I splash Cold water to my face to get the blood flowing , then I splash with warm water to open my pores up. Then i pump 2 pumps of cetaphil and lather into my entire face. Them i rinse with warm water . Then I splash my face with cold water to close the pores. Then i let my face air dry. This product is very good if you will like to reduce redness. So far i haven't seen an improvement on my acne but i only have been using this product for a week an a half.

Pores do not have muscles thus, they do not open or close. The only thing that expands pores is the matter clogged within them.

Pros:

-cleans very good
-no residue
-takes out all makeup very easilly

Cons:

-smell sucks

- I will like to take back what I put before. I realize that the reason I broke out wasn't this cleanser, I think it was because I switched BP to Neutragena's spot treatment(It really irritated my skin), I really don't know why I broke out more, but I recently used it for about a week, again, and I didn't have any huge problems. I just can't figure out If it is the cleanser or if it was just that my skin was just going to break out the way it did. Still, I was wrong to blame it on cetaphil, since I am using the cetaphil moisturizer and I don't have any problems with that. Anyway just try it.

Pros:

-fragrance free
-efectively cuts through facial oils
-cleans without causing skin dryness
-prevents future break outs
-reduces redness of skin in the long term

Cons:

-fairly pricey
-does not CURE breakouts

i've been using cetaphil daily facial cleanser for normal to oily skin since a few moths back on the recommendation of a good friend. i have oily combination skin which makes it hard to find a product that cleans affected areas without over-drying or greasing up other parts of my face, but this product does a great job balancing out my skin! the number of tiny breakout pimples due to clogged pores has been reduced and my bigger blemishes are less inflamed. keep in mind that this is simply a cleanser, therefore it is not responsible for curing breakouts, but does a wonderful job at preventing potential breakouts, calming the skin and controlling oil production throughout the day.

Pros:

Doesn't dry skin; cleans completely; does not clog pores; no dry, itching, or peeling of skin.

Cons:

None

Cetaphil is a GREAT product for acne. Here is my story, since I was about 13 I have had mild acne on my face. When I went to a dermatologist he recommended something with Benzoyl Peroxide in it. I used it for a year only to see my skin getting much worse due to it drying me out. My brother who had SEVERE acne began using cetaphil and 2 years later his skin is flawless. I switched over to have it start working instantly. I began using it twice a day for a week then began only using it once when I take a shower. I now have very mild acne, but I have dermatologist cream. This will not COMPLETELY clear everything up, but if you have an acne cream to put on after it will clean you right up. Bottom line is to not use Benevolent Peroxide because it is harsh and clogs pores. I would honestly recommend it to anyone.
