Pros:

Not too foamy. Cleans well. Doesn't leave face too dry. Cleans off oils.

Perfect when followed with a light moisturizer to put back some moisture on the skin (follow with small amount of Cetaphil cream). Better to follow with a non-clogging cream then have clogging face oils! THUMBS UP on this product! LOVE IT!!

Pros:

gentle, fragrance free, dye free, leaves skin feeling fresh and clean, cheaper than less effective products

Cons:

none

I have tried many cleansers, some work, some don't, and most loose their effectiveness after about 2 weeks. NOT THE CASE WITH THIS PRODUCT! I love their moisturizers as well because they are dye and fragrance free I would like to try the gentle cleanser as well, and see which works best for my skin.

Oily Rocacea ridden skin
I've tried everything from creams, washes, scrubs and medication to treat what is apparently rosacea. The only thing to keep my face from flaring up is using a hard scrub like st ives, but this always results in extremely oily skin. EXTREMELY. I've tried using only water or foams/ light cleansers in the past but bottled it within a week, because my fave is guaranteed to become very scaly, flaky, red and broken.. almost like broken scabs. This has been the case for the past 15 years. A few days ago, I've used only Cetaphil.. which after the second day resulted in my face feeling scaly and oily and red once again.. until today when I began using a Rose Water toner spray... I've never seen such a quick result. By this point I would have gone back to scrubbing my face using St Ives with cold water and applying many different lotions and creams to help calm it, but using the Rose Water spray, it's calmed and soothed my face. I think my problem has been over exfoliating, by using the scrub morning and night every day, but I do that to help keep the scaly rough texture and redness at bay. So I believe I've been creating this problem for myself. Hopefully by using Cetaphil as a wash, then spraying a light mist of Rose Water it will keep my face from going off its head for the future. I'm completely gobsmacked at how much this has calmed. Redness, roughness and the oil has all reduced MASSIVELY. If anyone's suffering from Rocacea and oily skin and you feel you just want to brick up the front door of your house and call it quits, please do try Cetaphil Wash for morning and evening followed by a light mist of Rose Water spray. Andddd breathe.

COMPLICATED EMOTIONS
When I wash directly with Cetaphil, my skin is super dry and painful, and I tend to breakout. However, when I use it with my Nooni marshmallow whip maker and mix it with a little bit of Ph balanced soap, it works great and makes my skin super soft and clean. You can play around with it a bit and you can find a way to make it work, but it's not great on it's own. YMMV, give it a try.

Nope nope nope nope.
Ive heard many good things about cetaphil, so i decided to try it on my acne prone skin. Two days after using it i woke up with my face so dry it was peeling as if I had a sunburn & it stung like crazy, and i even had more breakouts that were so red!! maybe my skin was just too sensitive for this and i should've gone for the gentle cleanser. I ended up fixing the damage it did with my good ol' trusty purity wash by philosophy i always end up running back to because it's just so gentle on my skin, as well as ponds moustrizer for the dryness it caused (but my skin is still flaking 2 weeks later when it never used to) shoot your shot if you want but that was my (bad) experience.
