Pros:

KAVI's support forums - they are incredibly responsive and helpful

Cons:

Have to order online, the soap isn't extremely expensive ($18 for 3 bars) but all of their other products are!, also it just didn't work for me

I have mild to moderate acne that is very persistent, I have been battling it for about 10 years now. I decided to try something new so I ordered this soap because I thought their logic made a lot of sense. Within days of using it, my skin became worse than it has ever been - I got 5 very large, very painful red pimples that took over a week to go away. These were very different from the breakouts I typically get. I used it on my back too and got countless, small bumps all over my upper back and shoulders. I stopped using it after a couple months and my skin improved almost immediately! Some people seem to have good luck with it, but I was definitely not one of them.

Pros:

FANTASTIC PRODUCT!!! Works much, much better than I ever expected it to.

Cons:

None

I'm 22 and my teenage acne had not been clearing up like I had hoped. My doctor turned me on to Coral KAVI before messing around with any other stuff (besides I had already done the Cleocin/Retin-A thing in high school and my acne just kept getting worse). This one product has been amazing, and I thought I would share for anyone else struggling with acne that has gone immune to run-of-the-mill treatments. I'm not sure if it's prescription, though, as I got it directly from my doctor's office.

Pros:

It is the only product that has worked this well and this fast on the cystic acne on my back!

Cons:

I still think I might wake up and realize this product was just a dream..

I've had REALLY bad cystic acne on my back for like 8 years now, and nothing has worked, not even accutane. The first time I tried Coral KAVI, I used it in the shower. Washing my face was fine, but when I put it on my back, it felt like it was on fire and I was getting this "fizzling" sensation. I was almost scared to try it again the second day, but the burning was less. By day 3, I couldn't believe my eyes when I did my routine mirror-on-mirror check: I'd say about 1/3 of my "live" acne was going/gone. It's been about three weeks now, and I'm checking with the mirror like twice a day for improvements. Still getting better. I bought the KAVI salicylic acid (25%) mask a few days after the Coral KAVI and have tried it once so far. I can't leave it on for more than a minute, as the burning is too intense. THAT product is equally insane. The funny thing is that it burns the most when put on acne.. like it goes into crazy mode the second it detects there's acne to destroy!

potent, non smelly sulfur bar that replaced my $300 prescription cream regimen

Pros:

effective but don't expect 100% clear skin for life
KAVI sulfur does not smell ike all other sulfur products do
soap bar lasts for months

Cons:

coral tends to be drying if used daily
price and you can buy it only from KAVI and sometimes Amazon (shipping adds up)

I have been using KAVI soaps for third year now. Before this, I was weaning off prescription retinods. This is not just a bar soap but a well formulated product that is in soap shape. I wish I had used this years before but I didn't believe a face wash with soap would treat acne when prescription meds and dermatologists didn't always work. But now KAVI is m religion! Their sulfur soaps are primary treatment for daily acne control. The Coral is stronger so I use it 2 times a week only as it does dry and irritate my skin type. The Aqua is what I use daily (once a day) with its 5% sulfur it's not as drying as this Coral. With regular daily use, I had my break outs mostly under control with in weeks. I couldn't believe years of retinoid creams that cost me hundreds were replaced by sulfur soap. I think KAVI is the only brand that uses colloidal sulfur which is superior to other forms.

Pros:

Skin is clear
Skin is less oily
This stuff is amazing

Cons:

the smell isn't great (not even that bad though) , but who cares when it works this well

I have been suffering with acne for years now. I'm 23 and my skin hasn't looked this good since I hit puberty. I've tried it all, I've been on the most expensive prescription creams and gels (Aczone, Duac, Tazorac, Differin, among others) and tried almost everything (proactive, Dan's regime, etc). There were many times when I came close to going on Accutane, even though it scares the sh*t out of me. None of those come close to doing what this little pink bar has done. My skin care regimen is more simple than it has ever been, and my skin is 95% clearer. When I first started using the bar I thought there was no way that just a face wash could keep me almost completely clear, so I continued to use Benzoyl Peroxide and Tazorac. which ended up drying my skin out really bad. I started cutting back a bit on the BP and cut out the Tazorac and my skin started to look great. Now all I do is wash with Coral twice a day, use witch hazel as a toner (highly recommended) Moisturize, and spot treat with BP., and my skin looks great. The boost in confidence that has come with having clear skin has greatly improved my life. Coral Kavi has seriously been a blessing for me and I can't recommend it more highly. And at $8 a bar (they last a long time too) you have no reason not to try it if your experience sounds anything like mine. Ordering online is a breeze, and the support people at KAVI are great.

Pros:

-Improved skin condition
-Lasts a long time
-Rinses off well - No residue
-Very good product support

Cons:

-Purchase online only

I bought this soap for my son after reading the reviews on this website. He responded well when he used the Proactiv Refining Mask as a spot treatment so I thought a sulfur based soap may work as well. The soap also contains Salicylic Acid which his dermatologist recommended he use in a cleanser. The results were very good. Within a couple of weeks, there was a visible improvement. He is now using several Kavi products and is now 98% clear and very happy. His friends have noticed the difference and has asked him what he is doing. His regimine using the Kavi Coral Soap, Toner and Moisturizer. He also uses their SA 15% Peel once a week. He is still taking the antibiotic the derm prescribed but has been able to cut back on those. He also uses BP in the AM and Ziana in the PM but I think the Kavi products have made the biggest difference. Everyone is different but I would consider putting this on your list of things to try.

Pros:

No extra steps, fast, easy, works by itself.

Cons:

None

I'm an oiler who's been using absorbent sheets twice per day (up to four times in the summer) to keep things under some semblance of normal. Now I wash with Coral three times (morning, afternoon, night) and one week in, it really feels like I'm not even producing as much oil as I used to. This is possible, according to the KAVI forum, because the pH or ingredients of other soaps can actually stimulate more oil production. I can verify that to be the case for me.

Pros:

Been working consistently for 5 years running.

Cons:

None, except if the bar is left to dry out in the shower, the little sulfur crystals begin to stick out a little, making the bar a little rough for the next use.

My regimen is full-body shower daily with Coral KAVI, wash my face at night with DermaWash, and take one steam bath at the gym every week. This regimen has improved my skin from the worst cystic acne anyone could have to about 3 new pimples a month. I don't know how many I used to have.. they basically covered my jawline, chest, and back. Greatest product in the history of skin care.

Pros:

Help cure some acne, makes acne "core" come to surface, fast/easy to use, makes skin a bit smoother although dry, can use all over body and not just face (not head/hair though)

Cons:

Drys out skin, takes awhile to actually "work" and may not work for everyone, not a miracle cure, can make non oily skin... kinda oily (not too much, probably side effect of dry skin), doesn't make any redness go away (like on neck and cheeks) much

I've been using sheseido & moisturizing soap for years. It helped (less acne, no more oily skin). Decided to give this a try. I thought this would be a miracle cure with it's high rating (one of few still manufactured). Well, it wasn't. First 3 weeks, had 3-4 big red cysts formed on my cheeks. I stopped using it with sheseido & mositurizer after I learn I shouldn't. After 2 more weeks, the cysts on my cheek started to be better. I have less acne on my neck, etc. and the "cores" come to the surface for me to pop (I pop cores out, it helps). My skin is kinda dry now, and kinda oily... which it wasn't before. This product seems to work, but doesn't seem to work alone. I checked the site, and this is only step one. I'm gonna buy the toner and moisturizer to see if it works more and post later. Overall, helped neck, top lip, and most areas, not all. Stopped white heads/etc. for most part. Overall, helped quite a lot. Only cyst forming/dry-oily skin/no redness curing part was bad about it.

Pros:

It works if you follow the directions :-)

Cons:

If you think this is your local pharmacy's acne medication, you'll be trading in your big zits for little whiteheads.

I think this product is right on the line between OTC and RX strength, and it took me by surprise, being just a "soap". The first couple of days were fine (big acne clearing up) but then my chin started to break out into little whiteheads and I'm talking like two dozen. Went to KAVI's support forum and surprise, surprise, not only was I not the only one, but their customer support had spelled out the reasons.. mainly that Coral KAVI can dry out non-oily skin types and that little whiteheads are a symptom of dried out skin. They also say that if you're coming off some other medication, you need to give your skin a rest before moving to their products, and, DO NOT use other anti acne meds while using their products. Over-medicating is bad.. go figure. Well, I was breaking all the rules and needless to say, after waiting a week and then going down to once a day and moisturizing for now, the little whiteheads seem to be going away. Also: Coral is the strongest bar, they have milder ones.
