Pros:

Worked at healing and preventing acne (including cystic acne breakouts)

Cons:

When initially started severely dried skin, continued to add moisturizer
Bleaches everything!
Can only get as prescription not over the counter

I love this prescription! even if its bleached all my sleep tops. I had a severe breakout of cystic acne after stopping Tri-Cyclin for 6 months. Now I'm back on that prescription, plus Clindoxyl at night with moisturizer on sensitive areas that get dry, and Proactiv during the day. I'm not sure my skin has ever looked better, in the past I usually was battling at least one or two pimples and now nothing! Or if I do tingly pimple sensation I just put it on and next day its gone. You do have to be patient it took 2 months before I really believed and saw and difference (Boyfriend saw a big difference in a couple of weeks). It does bleach your cloths but I was prepared for that after using Proactiv for years. I only wish the tube was bigger, I'm now rationing the medication. I feel like I've tried everything over the counter, I highly recommend this topical prescription!

Pros:

-Very Minimal Side affects
-Apply only to areas that are infected
-Does not have any odour so it can be applied when leaving the house

Cons:

-Slight residue on face after application

I started taking Clindoxyl a few months after I stopped taking Tetracycline, which is another common acne prescription. Although tetracycline was successful in preventing breakouts and removing acne on the majority of my face I was still getting breakouts on my forehead. I noticed positive results within 3 weeks. The acne of my forehead had subsided and I was not experiencing any breakouts. I did not notice any major side affects.

Pros:

- It gets rid of acne
- Reduces redness
- Clear my acne over the years

Cons:

- Bleached some of my clothes and towels
- Burned my skin a bit after exfoliating and aplying the cream

It is very good to use if you want to clear up your acne a bit quicker than usual. You can also get refills when you run out. Also it doesnt cost much if you have health insurance. Ask your doctor or Dermatologist if Clyndoxyl Gel is right for you!

Fabulous product
Unfortunately for my skin it wasn't enough, but generally I would highly recommend it for keeping infection under control and limiting breakouts. I used it daily for 16 months. It really stung and dried my skin to start with from the peroxide but geez it cleared up my skin quickly

Works for a while
I used this, with along Retin A, and Minocycline to clear up my first experience with acne when I was in middle school. The combination worked beautifully, and once I got off these medications I stayed clear for about 8 months. Then, my acne came back worse, and I was prescribed Clindoxyl Gel. It worked for a while, but then it wasn't doing anything. My skin became resistant to the topical antibiotic in this gel. Just use this with caution, and don't immediately quit using it once you are clear. Ease off of it.

Pros:

seemed to help with acne at first

Cons:

-after a while, acne started to come back worse
-horrible acne scarring
-face was VERY red, with a definite line separating the redness of my cheek from the normal colour of my neck
-flaky, itchy skin

I have two friends with severe acne who have used Clindoxyl. It seemed to work extremely well for one of them and moderately well for the other. I was told by a doctor to try this in conjunction with Retin-A; using one in the morning and one at night. My face always seemed redder, tighter, and flakier after using clindoxyl. I don't normally have sensitive skin, so I was very surprised the effects didn't wear off after a couple of days.

Pros:

Clears acne
does not dry skin
evens skin tone

Cons:

need prescription

I have not worn no foundation since I was like 13. I had the most severe acne. I began taking diane 35 for 2 months (which I highly recommend), afterwards (last two months) I have been using this. I believe this is what is keeping my acne at bay because if I miss a night i will get a pimple or two but after the next night and applying this they are gone again. I had to wear foundation my whole life and hated it! My skin was SOO bad! I feel so amazing, I am finally comfortable in my own skin and never thought I'd feel that way! It would not hurt to try this!!!!!

Pros:

clears cysts
reduces redness
shrinks breakouts over night
works well under makeup

Cons:

mild dryness
mild breakouts for first few days of usage

i' m 22 years old and have never had any severe issues with my skin, just mild breakouts a week before my period and stubborn black heads but it wasnt until the beginning of this past summer it started out with small rash like bumps on my forehead that i thought were just from the heat and sweating, but it started spreading down my face , along my jawline and eventually felt like every single pore on my face was a little pimple. only some would form whiteheads but it wasn't until i noticed larger cyst like bumps appearing along my jaw line that were deep under the skin and would stay for weeks! in the light my face looked rough and bumpy, and felt like it was overloaded with oil. so after an entire summer of ugliness i finally made an appointment with my Dr. and she prescribed clindoxyl .. I started it mid september and have been using it twice a day, once in the morning and once before bed. its been about 2 months now and have noticed a huge difference with everything my skin isnt oily anymore and all the little bumps that were everywhere are gone. i had a alot of scarring before too and it has really evened out my overall complexion and dark spots. my pores are smaller and i havnt had a serious breakout in a few weeks, just little ones before my period which are expected. the cysts are gone completely and the overall redness in my complexion is gone. i really tried to avoid wearing make up while ive been using clindoxyl which is difficult to do but has paid off because now i hardly wear it at all because i dont feel like i need to conceal anything. I was using a bareminerals foundation powder which was light and non comogetic every so often and didnt experience any reaction to it. i did experience a little dryness but used a oil free moisterizer in the morning about 20 minutes after applying the gel. bottm line... it works. you just have to be patient. hope this helped.

Pros:

Clears up breakouts quickly. This takes care of pimples overnight

Cons:

Slightly less effective over time. And it will bleach towels! I haven't managed to avoid this, even after 5 months. I'll wash it off my face in the morning, dry my hands on a towel, and wreck the towel. Oops.

This did not do the trick all alone, but it's great if you use it with an antibiotic. The antibiotic can clear up your acne over time, and this can be used to keep the pimples on the surface at bay. After treating my acne for 5 months I barely get pimples, and when I do this will clear them up overnight.
