So happy!

Pros:

Cleared acne
side effects go away

Cons:

Made my skin flaky
My skin is still red

I am 13, and for about a year or two I struggled with acne. I literally was obsessed with my skin. I was spending my free time looking up reviews of products and trying everything from cheap drug store products to expensive department store one and getting facials with my own money. All I can say is stop wasting your time and money looking for other products other than Epiduo. It took me a couple of months to start working and I'm happy to say that face is acne free. I was also using another product that I got from my Dermatologist gave me called Epiduo which was amazing also. I have to admit that my skin is a little more red than usual after using this wonderful product, but it can easily be concealed with a BB cream or tinted moisturizer. This a an amazing product that really does work! Please do not waste your time trying everything! Get to your nearest dermatologist and get Ziana!

Finally Clear!

Pros:

It works!
Easy to apply
Dries quickly

Cons:

Expensive
Skin becomes more sensitive to the sun

I started battling with moderate to severe adult acne about 4 years ago. Out of nowhere, my skin just broke out everywhere. It was that painful cystic acne, along with clogged pores EVERYWHERE. In a panic, I went online and read about all types of treatments and success stories. I tried a new regimen every few months and gave every new option a real chance to work. I tried BP, chemical peels, and retinol. My first dermatologist prescribed me spironolactone, minocyclin, and bactrim (at different times). He did extractions, gave me cortisone shots and microderm. My skin would clear up for MAYBE one week out of the month. About 4 months ago, I finally decided to go to a new dermatologist. I told him I didn't want to take any more oral medications, and that they didn't work in the past anyways. So, he prescribed Ziana and Aczone. My acne cleared up in 1 month!! I even stopped using Aczone 2 months ago, and have been using only Ziana (along with moisturizer and sunscreen). My skin is clear, and the scars are slowly fading. Ziana has made my life SO much easier. I'm finally clear!

Cleared my skin

Pros:

Cleared my skin
Worth it

Cons:

Pricey
Takes a while to see results

In Canada, it's actually called Biacna. I'm a 18 years old girl with moderate/severe acne that wouldn't ever go away. I've tried benzyl peroxyde, accutane, clindamicin and salycilic acid, but nothing ever worked. I've been using it for a while now (at least 6 months) and, at first, I didn't see any results... but after 3 months did I see improvement. Now, I only get the occasional pimple, all my acne is gone. This treatment made wonders with my skin and is totally worth the wait.

Not impressed.... Depressed.

Pros:

A lot of product in tube
free with rebate

Cons:

smells like yeast
makes skin greasy
did not help my acne

After failing many other acne treatments, including topicals and medications, my derm gave me this to try. When I first applied it, it smelled like yeast and felt overly greasy on my face. I told myself that I will give it a shot. I used for about a month and a half and saw absolutely no results. I have moderately severe cystic acne and this did nothing to help my acne while I was using it. It might have even caused my breakouts to get worse (but whose to say I wasn't just having a break out or the deep rooted stuff was coming up). I saw no results what so ever with the product and felt like I was handle over a tube or grease and for that reason, I gave this product one star.

Ziana Gel Review

Pros:

Seems to start working immediately
Even scars/blemishes clear up
Completely smooth face

Cons:

Pricy if no insurance
Somewhat sticky if you don't use lotion after
If you quit using it, seems like acne may come back a little

I am 25 and about a year ago I had horrible acne that would not go away! Everywhere- chin, cheeks, forehead, even my nose! I used proactive and other benzoyl peroxide washes from drug stores, and that would not cut it. The acne left horrible blemishes/scars too. When I saw my dermatologist and she prescribed me Ziana Gel, it immediately started working! The texture of my skin completely changed and was smoother and smoother with every time I applied it. It took about 3 months for all my acne (AND SCARS!) to completely go away. My face does not have one bump on it now and no scars show! Would definitely recommend this!

So far, so good.

Pros:

Strangely, it feels hydrating. No excessive facial dryness.
Purging period has been very tolerable.
This 60g tube will last MONTHS

Cons:

Cost ($500+/60g tube) without insurance.

I know that I'm a bit early into this regimen to give it a completely review. I plan to update as I go along. However, I wanted to mention to those that are scared to death of the "purging" period... it seems to effect each person differently. I wasn't even sure if I was experiencing the purge. My acne had cleared up a lot (after a massive breakout) before I went to the derm. So when I experienced the "purge," it was no worse than my typical acne before it started clearing. Things heal up pretty quickly. Microdermabrasion and my regimen seem to work really well. I have very oily skin, so this product has never made my face appear dry or flaking. In the morning, I do feel a bit of tightness that resolves after my shower and moisturizer. Nothing dramatic like I feared. The reason I'm posting this (just under a month of starting) is because I wanted others to not be scared off by all reviews. I read some and was petrified to start Ziana. If it wasn't for the hassle of paying for the derm, getting insurance and promotional cards to cover the cost, and the 10+ years it took to finally see the derm... I might have skipped it. Jump in. It's not so bad.

Ziana!!!!!

Pros:

easy to use
covered by my insurance

Cons:

super expensive w/o insurance
drys skin

I've been battling mild/moderate acne now for about two years, it started my junior year of high school & after using proactiv & not seeing any improvement - all i did was turn my skin a weird leather texture and dry it out SOOOOO bad, while still not fixing the problem I felt hopeless and made an appointment with a dermotologist. He prescribed me ziana, & a prescription lotion to use only in the morning along with washing my face morning and night with cetaphil bar soap. Now it's only been about a week but i think ziana may be working already!! :) it does dry your skin out though in the areas applied so i am experiencing some peeling on my cheeks where i rub it on every night but other than that no other side effects have occured yet. i've seen so many mixed reviews about it online, i hope it really does do wonders for me! although, it hasn't been long enough to really tell.all i know is that it is drying out the current pimples i have now & slowly getting rid of them!!

Ziana Gel works slowly

Pros:

Very easy to use
Eventual noticeable effect
Spreads easily

Cons:

Sticky
Oily skin
Slow progress

In stark contrast to some of these reviews - I'm neither negatively or positive shocked by this product. It hasn't been a miracle drug by any measure, as it's taken a near eternity to make a noticeable difference in my skin. I would say it took about 3 months (in conjunction with Solodyn) for breakouts to subside dramatically. If you are suffering with little, non-painful bumps, Ziana will not help. The product is generally not prescribed for spot treatment and is typically applied to the entire face, so the medication can spread under the skin and prevent surface breakouts. I'm wholly unsure whether this is effective against painful cystic acne, but I have noticed that it tends to lessen its severity a bit. Strangely enough, my skin seems to be developing worse hyper pigmentation in my course of Ziana. Use at your own discretion.

Pros:

Nothing.

Cons:

Smells weird. Made me break out even worse than before. I suffered through almost 3 months of "purging" that left really bad scars. Eventually I just quit taking it and my combo of Ortho Tri-Cyclen and Spironolactone did the job. SUPER expensive without health insurance.

Ziana didn't do anything for me. I waited through the long "purging" period per my dermatologist's recommendation, but never saw the end of it. Hormonal BC ended up being a way better treatment for me. Thank goodness I didn't have to pay out of pocket since this stuff is expensive!

Pros:

Easy to use.
Very Effective.
Cheap.
Absorbs quickly.
Much better results than traditional benzol peroxide.

Cons:

Causes mild dryness.
Slightly sticky for a few minutes.

Ive had moderate-severe acne for several years and had used a variety of benzol peroxide products before trying Ziana. I was able to get it for free due to a promotion and it works surprisingly well. Its been about 1.5 months and my acne has significantly cleared up. I still have some light acne and plan to continue using it until it is all gone. Its not a miracle drug so give it time and be sure to wash your face before application but Ziana really does work.
