Pros:

Clear skin!

Cons:

Expensive if your insurance doesn't cover it

After 10 zitful years, this is what finally, completely cleared up my mild-moderate acne. Unfortunately, if I miss a dose or two, I'll break out again. Still, this has worked wonders where Accutane failed. (I just want to add that I did NOT become depressed from using Accutane.) As a bonus, I've experienced no side-effects from this ointment. My skin can take a beating, though, so take that with a grain of salt if you have sensitive skin. Anyway, if you can afford it, I highly recommend Ziana. Try to get some samples from your dermatologist so you can see if it works for you. I know it's incredibly cheesy, but even mild acne so hurts my self-esteem that I have to say it: Ziana changed my life!

Pros:

Clears skin

Cons:

Expensive

I was prescribed Ziana after trying Differin and Retin A Micro. I used Retin A Micro for six months and only saw my face get worse. Ziana is a mixture of Retin A and an antibiotic. I apply Ziana nightly after washing my face with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide wash. Either the Ziana or the Benzoyl Peroxide bleached my pillow case. Despite this, I do not care because the Ziana has cleared my skin. I struggled with mild to moderate acne for years. Just the other day my coworker told me that my skin looks perfect. I am extremely pleased with the results. I cannot believe it is me in the mirror. It took about four weeks for the product to clear my forehead.

Pros:

Clear skin. Reduced Red Marks/Scars. Smoother Skin.

Cons:

May irritate the skin or have a burning sensation if too much is used. Only a thin amount is required.

I've been using this for about 2 months and my skin is drastically clearing. The first few weeks I didn't see a change in my skin and I was really skeptical. But with daily use my skin started clearing fast. I had red marks/scars & pimples and both are greatly reduced now. I've heard & read that you should give it at least 3 months (12 weeks) to really see a difference... I really believe this because I'm going on my 3rd month and everyone tells me how much better my skin looks. So Glad My Derm Prescribed This!

Pros:

This stuff really works! At first I was frustrated with the product, but I discovered less is more. Once I starting applying a smaller amount of the product, my face really started look a lot better. My skin is clearer and smoother. Love it!

Cons:

It kinda makes my skin feel a little sticky when it's on, but it's only at night and it washes off easily.

The product is really good and my face looks great!

Pros:

Not 100% yet, but seems to be working on making skin smoother, and decreasing redness and breakouts

Cons:

a bit of dryness...not a big deal tho

I tried this for a 1 week and stopped cuz not much happened, but didn't realize you need to stick with it to see improvement. I am using it every other day, and seems to be calming my acne down. I have big cystic acne JUST on my cheeks, and a few scars - Ziana seems to smooth out the scars. I am hoping this continues, it will be a big relief.

Pros:

once a day.....great for mild acne

Cons:

expense...

I have mild to moderate acne....I am starting birth control (yaz i think) and I have been using Ziana for a while, only a pea size like that is recommended. I think it will be a beautiful partner with my Birth Control Pills...it has only been one day and I could feel my pores open up and let stuff out, I didn't think it was strong or working until the next morning. I will give updates!!

Pros:

Exfoliates gently, is not too harsh on skin, spreads over skin easily

Cons:

The purging!!!

**UPDATE** I've been using Ziana for 4 weeks now. Week 2 was great, week 3 was miserable! I barely left the house that week and I have more scarring from that breakout. Ziana seems to do nothing for the big red swollen pimples. Week 4 has been a little better. I can tell that this product is working but day to day I never know how I will wake up. It could be a day with no new pimples or 10 new ones. I really want this product to work and the derm told me that it won't even start to work until the 6 week point. So until then, I hang in there......

Pros:

clears up whiteheads, blackheads, baby pimples, makes pores look smaller and clear skin smoother

Cons:

doesn't work for cystic acne

I was on accutane about three years ago for 8 months and it was the true wonder drug. about six months ago my acne started to come back and my derm gave me the prescription for differn. that didn't work at all so in the middle of august she gave me a prescription for ziana and i filled it the same day. my routine in the evening is wash with a neutrgena soap, dry skin and apply ziana. in the morning i wash with a 5% benzol perixode soap and then apply moisturizer. about 10 minutes later i apply some makeup. my skin has cleared up and my coworker (8 years and has seen it all) says that my skin looks smoother. my only problem is that i still get some monsters (cystic acne). i went to the derm and she said to give it another month. i'd rather not go back on accutane but it is too soon to tell. i'll keep you posted

Pros:

Exfoliates skin, is not as harsh as Retin-A

Cons:

Is very sticky (but if my skin is going to clear up it is totally worth it!)

I've only been using this for 2 weeks which is why I only gave it a 3 for how well it works. So far, things are so much better! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The texture of my skin is very smooth and a lot of my problem areas are much clearer. I think I am having some purging but it's 1 or 2 at a time, which, after having my ENTIRE face break out at once recently is manageable! I can't wait to see where I'll be at 4 wks, 8 wks and 12 wks. The thought of having clear skin for the holidays this year makes me really happy! I'll report back and let you know the progress at each stage. PS-There is a rebate on the Ziana website for $35 so it was free for me!
