Pros:

clears up whiteheads, blackheads, baby pimples, makes pores look smaller and clear skin smoother

Cons:

doesn't work for cystic acne

I was on accutane about three years ago for 8 months and it was the true wonder drug. about six months ago my acne started to come back and my derm gave me the prescription for differn. that didn't work at all so in the middle of august she gave me a prescription for ziana and i filled it the same day. my routine in the evening is wash with a neutrgena soap, dry skin and apply ziana. in the morning i wash with a 5% benzol perixode soap and then apply moisturizer. about 10 minutes later i apply some makeup. my skin has cleared up and my coworker (8 years and has seen it all) says that my skin looks smoother. my only problem is that i still get some monsters (cystic acne). i went to the derm and she said to give it another month. i'd rather not go back on accutane but it is too soon to tell. i'll keep you posted

Pros:

Light-weight, only once a day application

Cons:

a little drying and stining but definitely not bad at all

I've only been on it for two weeks and I'm already seeing results! I really like this product because it's not too harsh or overdrying. My derm gave me enough samples to last two months so I can see if this product works for me before I buy it. It also comes with a rebate which is nice because it is pricey.

Pros:

the gel form is very mild and washes off easily. works slightly better than differin. i have been on 1 month so i can't really give a complete rating until around 3 months.

Cons:

So far the gel hasn't realy helped my acne, i have mild to moderate acne that just wont go away. Ziana so far has not made a major difference.

this may be good for mild acne sufferers and those how have had success on differin. I feel this does give faster results than differin. one noticable difference i did find was no initial break out, maybe this i because i have been on 3 different retinol gels in the last 1.5 years and my face finally got used to them. i would only recommend this for those who have mild to moderate acne.

Love!
I'm a female in my mid 20s who has mild acne. I received Ziana from my dermatologist a month or so ago, switching from Finacea, which wasn't doing much for me. It has helped the acne around my mouth and chin so much. I have only had ONE pimple, compared to three or four a month, since using Ziana. That was when I first started using it. I also did not go through the 'purge' my dermatologist warned me about. I use it once each night and put it on after my moisturizer. I also moisturize in the morning. I haven't noticed much of a difference in my 'scars' or pinkish reddish brown spots leftover from previous acne, but hope to. I have also been receiving monthly facials lately, which I think has also helped a lot. I can't wait to continue to use Ziana and see how much more it improves my skin in the future!

Amazing, just be patient!
I was prescribed biacna by my dermatologist after i've been on bactrim for 2 weeks and it was smoot sailing after that. as soon as the bactrim kicked in all I had to worry about was the part where my skin gets used to the gel. it took about 2-3 weeks of experimenting on how frequent i should use the biacna(ziana) but after that i used it every night and the redness and the peeling has all subsided. I have stopped taking bactrim for a week now and still no horrible breakouts because of this gel. it is amazing. I hope it continues to show progress because I love my skin now. It is not perfect and have hyperpigmentation but i am getting there. i never really write reviews but this stuff is the real deal. be patient!!!

Amazing

Pros:

Starting working in 1 overnight use
Slowly clearing up the bumps

Cons:

Super oily face when I wake up

I suffered from acne for 2 years and it's been a pain in the butt. I tried everything and when I say everything, I mean almost everything. I tried retin-a micro 0.25% and 0.4%, epiduo, solodyn, acanya, aczone, minocylcine and finally ziana. I was really afraid to try ziana because I read about how it had really bad purging and I was afraid. However, I decided to give it a try since I was losing hope. I saw a difference in 1 day. It was amazing. I put it on at night and woke up with less bumps on my temples. I had no purging whatsoever and it's only been little over a week and it has done amazing to my skin. The pimples are slowly clearing up and I'm hoping it can fade my acne scars. All I have to say is, give it a try. I love ziana and I feel confident again (:

MY MIRACLE

Pros:

acne is gone
red marks are fading

Cons:

skin is peeling

THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!! my (short) story: my birth control broke me out in cystic acne all over my chin.. which if it wasn't a nightmare enough, the cysts got infected. my chin was scabbed, swollen, disgusting. I was so embarrassed i went home for the weekend to heal. i was given the medication on friday.. it is now sunday and my SKIN LOOKS AMAZING!! it looks even better than it did before i got the cysts. my red marks are fading, my skin looks almost perfect and it's only been 3 days. i have only been using this stuff and i cant believe the effect that it's had. this has done more for me than 3 microderms and 5 chemical peels have. i was using way too much of it at first (applying it like 3x a day) and my skin is really dry and flaky now. WHATEVER! i'd so much rather have that then the marked up mess i was dealing with before. i'm only applying it at night now. i can't wait to keep on seeing the improvements oh and i got no initial breakout!

Pros:

None

Cons:

Burns skin
Dry skin
Made acne severely worse
Costly

I was provided this product by my dermatologist and initially I was very excited. I was instructed to use a pea size amount for my face each evening. I used the product as directed and my acne became worse day by day. The type of acne I suffer from is primarily hormonal and is cystic in nature (essentially, I get giant knots on my face that will remain for weeks; no whitehead forms; very painful; I mean very painful). The acne became so bad that it was painful to talk, eat, and just throbbed throughout the day. I stopped using this product after one month and I am now trying Aczone as a result. Although this product did not work for me, I anticipate that many others could be successful with Ziana. Unfortunately, I was not so lucky. I hope you all find this to be helpful information.

Pros:

-might be good for someone with dry skin since it causes your skin to produce so much oil.

Cons:

-did not make skin any better! if anything it is worse!
-DRYNESS. in the winter i developed quarter-sized, itchy spots whenever i was out in the cold for more than 10 minutes!

first, i'm a 22 year old female. i went on accutane when i was 12, and that left me completely clear until about a year ago when my skin became covered with tiny whiteheads/clogged pores/comedones (still not really sure of the difference!). anyway, i had the kind of acne that doesn't look too bad from a distance because there isn't much redness, but makes the texture of your skin look very rough and unhealthy when viewed from close up. i am in college, so first i went to see my derm at home (the same one that prescribed me accutane when i was young) and he said my acne wasn't too severe but that he recommended i go back on accutane since i had a positive experience with it before. however, since i do not live at home, i was required to see a dermatologist near my college since on accutane you must be monitored. my doctor at college recommended i try ziana first before resorting to accutane (which i really respect, since i know all about accutane's side effects that you must deal with while being treated). basically, however, i am really sorry that i spent so much time hoping ziana would work. my doctor said it's great for comedonal acne (and that the retin-a brings your tiny zits to the surface so that they can finally disappear). i spent months believing that my skin was "purging" and that eventually my skin would get better, when in reality it just continued to become more and more covered with acne (both more small bumps and large zits). i'm sure ziana works for some people (and, as with all treatments, it is important to give medications enough time to work). however, i was really disappointed that there was no payoff to my "purging." i am now going on accutane which i hope will finally work.
