Ziana Gel Review

Pros:

Seems to start working immediately
Even scars/blemishes clear up
Completely smooth face

Cons:

Pricy if no insurance
Somewhat sticky if you don't use lotion after
If you quit using it, seems like acne may come back a little

I am 25 and about a year ago I had horrible acne that would not go away! Everywhere- chin, cheeks, forehead, even my nose! I used proactive and other benzoyl peroxide washes from drug stores, and that would not cut it. The acne left horrible blemishes/scars too. When I saw my dermatologist and she prescribed me Ziana Gel, it immediately started working! The texture of my skin completely changed and was smoother and smoother with every time I applied it. It took about 3 months for all my acne (AND SCARS!) to completely go away. My face does not have one bump on it now and no scars show! Would definitely recommend this!

Pros:

clearer skin and smooth skin

Cons:

I guess the side effects, which I haven't experienced yet.

I've only been using Ziana for about 2 weeks and so far I got good results, at first I used a moisturizer from the Olay brand and than I switch up and started using products from the Cerave line they have a great AM and PM lotion that works great with the Ziana and I also use the Cerave face wash it't great. I use Duac gel in the morning and the Ziana at night and everything works well together. I have a great dermotologist. Bottom line If you are having mixed reviews about it maybe you need to change your face wash and moisturizer.

Pros:

Skin is soft and smooth
no break outs!
reduced pore size
balanced out my combination skin

Cons:

none so far

I've been using this for about a month now. I have combination skin that gets really flaky around my nose/mouth but I haven't had any of that way Zinea! I had a tiny bit of purging in the end but other than that no real side effects. I used this with a Cerave cleanser and moisturizer and I'm having soft, smooth skin! My derm gave me a coupon so that the first tube was free and the next three tubes cost only $20. Such a good deal, especially because the tubes are GIANT.

Pros:

-It makes parts of the skin soft
-It's not that expensive if you have insurance

Cons:

-Skin peels really bad around mouth
-Doesn't help if you use it as a spot treatment
-Doesn't help for cystic acne
-Makes it hard to apply makeup because skin is so dry
-Need tons of moisterizer
-Doesn't really clear acne at all, makes it look worse in fact

I'm 19 years old and I have delt with acne for 8 years. It has been a battle to keep my skin clear. I have awful cystic acne. It takes about three to four weeks for one of my pimples to go down. I have really sensitive skin so they look blue like bruises. It is very hard to cover these spots and it gets harder when they are really dry all around the cyst. My acne makes me really depressed and keeps me locked up in my dorm room. I have been on Ziana gel for about a month and I have not seen any improvement in my cystic acne and the acne around my mouth has gotten so much worse because of how dry the Ziana makes my skin. It hurts to open my mouth and make expressions. If you don't have severe cystic acne, I would give this gel a try. But if you do, I wouldn't waste your time or money on it. I am going back to the drem to try something new this week. Best of luck to all of you that try this product.

Pros:

does not stain clothing (yay)
apply once every night
does not leave a noticable film when applied
lasts a long time

Cons:

smells funky
expensive
weird greasy/watery combination

During my high school years I had a minimal amount of back acne but remedied it with Neutrogena Body Clear scrub & loofah. Anyway, it went away til now. I'm a picker (not a good thing to admit on a acne website) lol but the sun and my picking made the bumps worse and left white spots.ugh It made me self conscious to wear tanks so I went to the derm for 1st time and she recommended Ziana. I have been religliously using the stuff for 8 days now but have not noticed any difference yet. No side effects and it hasn't gotten any worse so I'll keep at it!

Pros:

-Just started and skin appears clearer
-Doesnt make face too dry
-Doesnt make skin ultra sensitive to the point of breaking and extreme sensitivity

Cons:

-Not seeing a huge difference like I had hoped but I guess I have to wait more

I wish that this would work faster! But I do see a difference and people have been commenting that I have clearer skin, but they also know I am on a regemin so I am not sure!

Pros:

Cleared my skin, does not burn or irritate, no peeling, does not make my skin feel super tight like other acne treatments i've tried.

Cons:

none

I'm 17 years old and I've been dealing with acne since I was 13. My skin is very sensitive and has a tendency to be kind of oily around my nose; but the weird part is, I only break out on my chin and forehead. I've tried almost everything advertised on television: Proactive made my skin burn and felt tight and did not help at all. Neutrogena was awful, burned instantly and caused these little red bumps on my cheeks. Acne free also burned and basically had the same results as Proactive and Neutrogena. About mid February of this year, 2009, I decided it was time to go see a Dermatologist which he then prescribed me "Ziana". At first, I was pretty skeptical about it since it's a gel and I thought "How is this going to clear my face? wouldn't it clog my pores even more?" --WRONG! I'm acne free now! It's so simple: I apply warm water to my face, pat dry, and apply the gel all over my face. Next morning, my face feels smooth! especially when rinsing.

Pros:

Very clear skin
Non drying

Cons:

None so far

I was on Azelex for a year for my breakouts. It didn't really work well, although I tend to get dry skin and it helped a little without drying me out. I just switched to Ziana Gel on Monday and so far the results have been amazing. I know it's early, but I hope this continues. Like other posts, it helps a lot with reducing the size of existing pimples. I have not had more outbreaks that before but maybe because I was already on Azelex before??? My skin looks amazing and it's never been this clear (without being scaly dry). Fingers crossed that it continues . . .

Pros:

This stuff didn't seem to work right away, but I kept using it and after 2 weeks my skin started to clear up a lot. It was working pretty well, and during my first period using it, I didn't have any breakouts!

Cons:

After about a month, I don't feel like the gel is working as well as it was. I'm using it every night. I went back to my dermatologist and she prescribed doryx (an oral antibiotic) to see if that will help ease some of my breakouts.

It works, definitely helps control the severity of the break out if you get one. Also, if you have to pop a pimple, this gel works really well overnight. I popped a pimple and put the gel on it, and the next morning it was practically gone!

Pros:

Seems to work so far. Although it is expensive, there are discounts and cards that reduce the price greatly.

Cons:

Accelerates break outs, but it might be worth it. Some dryness and peeling, but my skin's always been dry, so it's nothing I can't handle.

I've had Ziana in my possession for about a month. I was afraid to use it because of some of the bad review I had read about it. But I've been so degraded by the breakouts I was having that I gave in and decided to give it a shot. I've only been using it for about a week. What I've noticed it is that I am still breaking out, actually I've been getting more pimples than less. HOWEVER, the pimples themselves are not becoming red or painful, which is what normally occurs for me. While I've been breaking out more, the usual appearance of them has been minimized greatly. I can live with that. It was the huge, glaringly obvious ones that made me want to cry and never want to go out. I'm hoping that the reason I'm getting more pimples is because the Ziana is pushing all the bacteria and stuff that causes acne to the surface. Therefore, in a way purging my skin of the "bad stuff". This is only week one, so I'll update this in about a week.
