Pros:

Gets rid of most blackheads. Gets rid of most whiteheads. Gets rid of most acne. Inexpensive with insurance (10 dollars). Makes skin less oily. Lasts almost 2 months until refill is needed. Heals blemishes. Quick results (within a week).

Cons:

Drys skin. Skin may become red until it gets used to it. Balls up when moisturizer is applied. Needs a prescription. Has to be used night and day for best results. Bleaches items unless careful.

This is the best topical acne medication I have ever used. I tend to get blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. My skin didn't start breaking out until I turned 20 (now 23). My face is clear unless it is that time of the month, even then I only get a couple blemishes. Although eating right helps a great deal. I have learned that if I eat any sugar or dairy products I break out even with benzaclin, just not as bad. As a side note, this used to cost me $50 with insurance, now it's $10.

Pros:

Dries out acne very fast
No smell

Cons:

Initially makes skin feel a little tight and dry

I got this product for "free" since my medical is paid for because my dad is in the navy. It works great. I have very light acne, but once, in a while, I'll get a big one. I usually pop the pimple, wash my face, then dab the product directly on the zit. The next morning, it's almost gone. I really only use it on individual pimples, and I love it !

Pros:

* fast acting
* gets rid of small white heads along with huge cystic bumps under skin.
*cleared up nearly all of existing acne in a week of use.

Cons:

* dries white after application
* dries skin makes it a little flaky
* expensive if insurance doesn't cover it.

I've only been using it for a week so far but I'm glad I decided to spend the 175$ because my skin is practically clear except for two very tiny bumps which will probably be gone in a few days. I use benzaclin along with minocyclin and yaz. I would definitely recommend this product!! My face only is flaky around the chin area since that's where I use it most but I also havnt been using any moisturizer because I wanted to get the full effect of the product. I've read other reviews where people say they experience lots of redness and irritation but the only side effect I experienced was dryness which might be because I have really oily skin which is not s problem for me anymore while on.benzaclin. bottom line works wonderful!!!!!

Pros:

This product actually works!

Cons:

Extremely Dry Skin. Face felt like was cracking and going to fall off when did any facial movements. LOL but serious.

I know everyone is different. Try it! I'm half way to my 40's and have suffered from acne all my life. Needless to say my Jr high and High School pictures sucked. I've literally been through countless OTC and a few Rx. It's way over due considering almost half my life is gone but now I can struct my stuff with head held high instead of walking with head down. Oh it is expensive, would have been $80 but insurance covered it. There's also coupons out there and well worth it.

Pros:

Easy to apply, very fast results, it works!!!

Cons:

Made my face red, itchy and painful, dry and peeling, with fine lines around mouth, but only for the 3rd week, not any more.

I broke out for the first time in my life at age 26, 2 months before my wedding! Needless to say, I was desperate to get rid of these horrible pustules around my mouth. I *never* post on boards, so this just shows how well duac works. Although the doc also prescribed doxycycline, I haven't been taking it, since a previous course of tetracycline gave me really bad runs and stomachache. So I've only been taking duac, and putting moisturizer on top 15 minutes later, only at night for the first 3 weeks, then morning and night for the last week. I've been drinking lots of water, exercising, eating healthy and cutting out sugar and trying to stress less too, which I'm sure helps, but the duac has got rid of all my spots (I had about 15) except 2, which are subsiding, within 4 weeks. The marks left are n't so severe either. II get it for £7.20 on the NHS which will probably last me 4 months.I love duac!

Pros:

Clear, lovely skin, even on the back
works fast on individual breakouts
Helps a little bit with large cysts and nodules

Cons:

When they say "give it six weeks," they mean down to the day, because it took that entire time to actually see full results
Ended up having to use twice a day, so I ran out faster

Though I saw a little improvement right from the first day, it DID take a long time for my skin to clear up. But the wait was 100% worth it. I've never felt this good when Iooked in the mirror I have painful cystic acne, and although topical creams don't generally work on those, I've found this product helps them heal much faster. Day I went to the doctor, I had a nodule the size of a small grape on my cheekbone. It was completely gone in 4 days after starting Duac, and ordinarily it would have taken weeks

Pros:

Works better than anything else I have ever tried; is covered by my insurance plan.

Cons:

Causes burning/redness if used every night (vs. every other night); bleaches fabric (towels, pillowcases).

I have been using this for 4 years (after an initial round of tetracycline for 4 months to get my skin under control). Although I have noticed some decreased effectiveness in the past year (likely due to bacterial resistance from using the product for so long), it has worked amazingly for me. For 4 years my skin was almost perfectly clear, and spot applying it to a pimple would make it clear up quickly. I have to apply it every other night (instead of every night) or I get too much burning/redness, and the irritation can actually cause me to break out. I make sure I use a good moisturizer with it to keep the irritation down (la roche posay hydraphase). No other topical treatment I've used even came close to working for me (clindamycin alone, retinol, proactive).

Pros:

WORKS

Cons:

skin dries out, but use a mild moisturizer

I've had many problems with my skin, I've used other products but each and everytime they failed, because of the severity of dryness on my sensetive skin. I went to my dermatologist, and she presribed me this. She stated that it was a process, and it would look its worse then eventually become its best. She was right. I no longer have any pimples and my skin is clear noone would ever know that i had bad acne! It will dry out your skin, and your skin will look its worse at first, but then it will gradually get better and stay that way If you stop it, your skin may go back to normal and if you use it again it may take longer to get clear. thats the only con. but your skin will get back to clear.

Pros:

OMIGOD!!! Cleared my face up almost immediately!!! I love this stuff!!! I have suffered with acne for so long and decided to go see a dermatologist since my sister is getting married. I wanted my face clear!!!

Cons:

It dries the heck out of your skin!!! Burns when you first start using it (if it's used along with a facial wash with Benzoyl peroxide in it also)!!! But hey NO PAIN NO GAIN!!! Get a good mild moisturizer! (Cetaphil)

This stuff works wonders!!! My skin had dark marks on it FOR YEARS! I should have done this sooner!!! It's the best! I love my dermatologist for giving me this.
